As a little black 8 y/o girl in my predominantly black neighborhood I would get in my uncle's car and blast that song. I knew and understood the lyrics and meanings. I LOOOOVE MR. MICHAEL AND KENNY.

Anybody that has a soul definitely gets down with Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins. They are Timeless and they transcend race.
Oh yeah, this was a jam back in the 70s when it came out (when I was a black 8 yo boy); black or white.
Quite possibly the most brilliant pop song ever written.
Kennys Voice... I got him right up there with Stevie, Donnie Hathaway, Charlie Wilson and Brian Mcknight. The range in his voice is just Amazing.

All he did was mention Michael McDonald, and then hum the song, -I had not even read the inscription on the bottom of this thing, I knew instantly he was talking about the song What a fool Believes!! I've listened to that song probably fifty times in the past two months. It's always been my favorite of 'his.... [y'all's,I guess ha!] It is so cool to hear how that song was born. I love it!

I first heard Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina when I bought their live vinyl that had House at Pooh Corner and other classics, then I bought a cassette of them together again. Just great soft rock and guitars from the ‘70’s into the ‘80’s and of course Michael M joined forces off his Doobie Brothers stint and the rest is history. Kenny punching through with the Top Gun theme will endure forever! I am very lucky to have shared the same time zone with these guys. Huge talent and nice people. 👍😎🇳🇿✨🌹
