Great to hear you really enjoyed a Jura. I had a Prophecy (?) and a 10 yo and was underwhelmed and a strange IB 12yo… so I might go hunting for a few more samples. You notes sound definitely interesting and encouraging to give it another chance. Thanks and have a good start into the new week

The older jura bottles were a slightly different shape a bit shorter and wider
The ten is a good one, as is superstition or prophecy if you can get hold of it, also the new rum cask finish is lovely
You guys have made this sound amazing. I have only tried the Superstition, and I loved it. I think a lot of people slag Jura because of the chill filtration and colouring. I have heard that independent bottlings of Jura are amazing.

Only ever had the old 10 yo. Liqueur like indeed, going into a rum note. This seems like that one, but richer, more rounded. None of that journey stuff, which was pretty poor imo. I understand why you would colour or chill filter a supermarket expression, but why, oh why, would you do it to something with a proud 18 yo age statement? Spot on Ant! Great notes from both of you.
I think it was the journey we had at the start and yeah it was very underwhelming to say the least. This is definitely a few steps up and we hope to find more Jura that we like 🙏🏻

Not really a fan of Jura and not chasing any expressions myself.
So when you start the review with Mrs. Optimistic and Mr. Pessimistic, I was merely thinkin of optimistic vs. realistic. And with the wine finish I leave it to others to judge.

I'm not a big fan of Jura I need to say but last my experience with this distillery surprised me in a good way... Jura Rum cask finish from tesco... only 40% abv but nose is quite intense and the taste is not bad at all maybe because I like rums I guess...very fruity and wet autumn leaves aroma.... weird and nice in the same time... I do recommend... Great review Guys... cheers Wlad...
