About the Jura distillery:
Nestled on the sparsely populated southern Hebridean island of Jura, the distillery boasts a rich heritage rooted in the 18th century when islanders crafted spirits from rowan berries. Transitioning from illicit to legal distillation in 1810 under Archibald Campbell, its survival was challenged by economic hardships and remote accessibility. Yet, in 1963, amidst fears of declining population, landowners Robin Fletcher and Tony Riley-Smith revived whisky production with a modern approach, aided by Charles Mackinlay & Co and designer William Delme-Evans. Initially unpeated, Jura began embracing peat in the 1990s, diversifying its range with expressions like Superstition in 2002. Undergoing a significant revamp in 2018, it introduced a new range, blending tradition with innovation. Today, Jura stands as a testament to resilience, celebrated for its unique whiskies that capture the essence of its island home

This exquisite whisky has been aged for 18 years, first in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and then finished in Premier Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux barrels. This process imparts a rich fruitiness and a softly smoky profile, making Jura 18 a must-try for whisky enthusiasts.
Tasting Experience:
Nose: Toffee, milk chocolate, berries, nuts and nutmeg
Palate: Cranberries, prunes, raisins, mocha, faint smoke and brown sugar
Finish: Lingering notes of smoke and chcolate.
