I tried it just now. Can't just understand the brand "Chivas Regal. Dewars 18 and Glenburgie18 is something I can relate to. SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT WITH THIS BRAND. My friends, family, associates hate me for this.
Talisker is my favorite on this list.

Bangalore prices not sure, but Gurgaon is around 6000
Great show. I couldn't ever understand this particular brand. Have almost tried amost all varaints. Neat, on the rocks and with some water. Still I couldn't take to it.
the 25 YO and 18 YO are delightful

I will grab and pay for a 25 year old $1000 Ardbeg any day or a much cheaper sophisticated Islay or Speyside scotch. There is so much an available that bests this whisky.
I don’t know many excellent scotch enthusiasts/experts who consider this a scotch blend worth the price. The 40% ABC is pathetic. Far too watery. Cheers.

Definitely desserty! The nose is nice but not very intense. The palette is complex but quite mild. The best part for me is the finish. Though I find it short, the aromas are delightful. Lots of chocolate, coffee and orange peel. I like it a lot, but it's also overpriced in my opinion. I would buy it again, but not recommend to others because of the price.
Agree on the price point, but then the way the brand is positioned is different from rest of the scotches. It’s in the luxury category along with Macallan and now Glenturret
@@thedramclub I wonder if this has a lot to do with rich asian buyers. I have a chinese friend who once told me that the rich buy Macallan and other luxury brands by the crates, no matter the cost. That would surely drive up the prices for the rest of us. Still love Dalmore, but I hate that I like it so much. Would be cheaper for me to enjoy something else 😂. My most recent buy was the 15 year old and Port Wood Reserve.

You should also look at picking up the Ardbeg Spectacular, a limited release only available at Mumbai duty free
The XV makes an outstanding scotch and soda…
haven't tried it with soda yet, but worth exploring definitely.
It is a lot more cordial with soda water than Johnnie Walker, the sweet vanilla notes really come out and I think you’ll appreciate, though it doesn’t have smoke like JW.

Expensive whiskies shouldn't be mixed with water. They should either be taken neat or with ice. If you still need water with your expensive whiskey then stop drinking that whiskey. Either you or that whiskey has a problem.

@@thedramclub Nope. It's very simple. Most expensive whiskies are matured and have multiple notes, layers and flavours to explore. That's what makes a particular whisky their character and identity. With water the whisky gets diluted and a lot of the notes, flavours just gone. The layers are just harder to experience with diluted form. The whisky loses its character and identity and it then only works as a substance to get drunk and nothing else. If you want to add water with expensive whisky, add only 10-15 ML of chilled water with 30 ML of standard whisky measure. It emulates the ice cubes a little. It will slightly dilute the drink but not too much to lose its character and identity. For some whiskeys it might bring one or two notes to more perfection. If you have a lot of money to burn and don't care about taste and all and only want to get drunk then be my guest.

The one's complaining about these whiskeys know that they have access to better one's. At a time, when there was no access to other brands, these were the true legends who have stood the test of time. Neat, on ice, and you are set.
