Please do not confuse blended malts and blended whiskies. JW Green Label is a blend of 4 single malts, while Chivas Regal is a blend of malt and grain whisky! Your tasting suggestion is a good introduction for beginners to see what type of which they might prefer. Another idea for connoisseurs would be to have 3 or 4 bottles of the same genre - single malts of different age, peated whiskies, bourbon tasting etc. It is hard for me to compare a bourbon to a scotch - apples and oranges. Single malts from around the world would be a great experience. Indri vs Paul John vs Amrut in similar price range.
