Hi there, thanks for getting in touch! The tunings for each dvd are as follows:
Week 1 is in Standard Tuning,
Week 2 is in Drop D Tuning
Week 3 is Drop C# Tuning
Week 4 is E flat Tuning
Week 5 is in Drop C# Tuning
Week 6 is Drop C tuning

@1016Freedom1016 Hi there - Andy James breaks down everything he is playing showing you where to place your fingers how to strum the chords, where to place you fingers for the riffs etc. Plus if you don't quite catch anything he says - you can pause the DVD and just rewind it a bit to re-go over what he just said. @pfizer Hi there, this course is harder than the Metal rhythm edge Dvd - a progression of difficulty as you progress through the weeks. Weeks 4 5 6 have big full on songs with techniques and small lessons - Weeks 2 and 3 also include smaller songs with techniques. Week 1 has drum tracks to play the rhythm techniques that Andy shows to allow you to play what your learning to a beat,breaking down everything shown.Hope that answers your question?give us an email with anymore. @Gergerpatpat Hi there, best thing to do is to pop to our forum and ask Andy exactly. But I think you get a pretty good idea from listening to the backing tracks within this video. (each come with the DVD to play with) I'd say a cross between Metal core & Nu Metal - more melodic than trash metal, but andy does cover fast riffing and techniques.
If you cant hear to well on here we have the trailer on our website - sound quality might be different - maybe. Hope that helps.

I listen to a lot of metal but none of the bands I listen to have the same sound as the riffs andy shows on the dvds, anyone know anybands that are similar, because the stuff on these dvds is INCREDIBLE!

There are a lot of things involving guitar that don't have a "Specific technique." Holding your pick is one of them. There isn't really a 'proper' way, just a common way. However it feels comfortable and ergonomic is how you should hold it.

Hey Sudeep, your issue lies in the facts of Scales and Phrases.
You need to work on learning the 7 modes of the scale, and then working on different phrases.
(if you're into this kind of music, I suggest starting with the Harmonic Minor scale. (If you know your major scale already) The pattern for it is Root-2-3b-4-5-6b-7-8(octave Root) *it's also known as the Raised Seventh Minor*

Hey licklibrary, awesome dvd set, i'm already improving astronomically. But I have a question. I bought the dvd's and they came in the dvd cases n' all. But I also got another set of dvd's in clear plastic cd cases... was I supposed to get two sets? or is this a mistake?

Does the DVD series go into the proper ways to hold your pick? I currently grip my pick between my index and thumb instead of the standard method (on top of your index+thumb) and want to try and get good at the standard method.

@novemberrain1994 true, but especially the Ltd Deluxe models are great guitars for a very reasonable price (800-1000 Euro in germany) and much better than some other companies "high end" models.
yeah nice riffs but this riffs are more of a thrash kind of metal.
does this dvd have more simple riffs like kind of heavy metal
for example some judas priest/iron maiden kind of riffs?
Out of interest, the riffs that are taught here are they from specific songs, or are they under copyright to Andy James or LL?
