Clip the clips behind the curtain, on the tab or tape, and they’ll look even better! 👍

I use 9 rings per panel. It’s the perfect look. Curtain clips are great for DIYers. I just bought 6 bolts of linen fabrics and made my own curtains. I have two story arched windows, so I had to make my own if I didn’t want to spend a thousand bucks on custom ones. Since I’m not great at sewing the clips really made the process doable. Love the curtains! Your window looks amazing!

Love this! I’ve used inexpensive velvet curtains for years in all of my bedrooms (I flipped houses for a decade and so I staged many a room; also, my mom had a window treatments business while I was growing up so I was practically raised in fabric stores - kicking & screaming at the time but now I appreciate the foundation it gave me without having to study for it).
I totally agree - velvet panels can look way more expensive than they actually are, especially when they are heavy and lined as yours are.
Another tip is to hang them high & wide. Doesn’t work the same on bay windows but on a regular, straight window - hang them to the outside of your trim work (so that the inside edge of your curtain panel when in the opened position just covers the outside of the window frame trim- ie hide the edge of the wood trim but allow your window to be largely visible when the panels are fully pushed to the sides).
And hang the rod high - about 2/3 or 3/4 of the way between the top of the window and your ceiling or crown moulding. You can go even higher if you wish, just leave a few inches below the moulding. This tricks the eye into thinking the room is bigger - wider wall and taller ceiling - all of which helps make a room look more expensive 😊

Thank you for the tips! Recently I was looking through a magazine and noticed the curtains raised high like you mentioned and decided to redo all the windows in my house. I just got my last set of curtains this past week and I’m so excited to see how this will turn out. I’m so not a handy person, my dad used to be that for me, but sadly he passed away.😓
The only thing I’m dreading, is that I keep thinking I’m going to mess things up trying to move my curtain rods up higher. Since I don’t know what the heck I’m doing. Haha🫣😅

Great tip! And yeah I agree with you those velvet curtains look very elegant, however, the problem is you cannot wash them at home you can only take them to the dry cleaners and that’s expensive.

That’s a great idea. I recently used a shower curtain with black rings in my dining room and they looked amazing! I took a 3rd shower curtain, cut it and attached it with Velcro at the bottom to extend the curtains to the floor. It looked great and you never would have known the difference!

I use pretty and inexpensive shower curtains, some with matching hangers, for my basic window curtains. They're easily washable and can be backed with clear or translucent plastic shower curtains in winter to block window drafts and keep the heat in the room.

And thank you so MUCH for your amazing tutorial!! OMG, you don’t understand how much this is going to help me AND save me time! Not to mention save my brain cells!!😅 Right before I watched your video, I watched one that had me trying to do math to get these rings perfectly spaced out. I was thinking, okay maybe I don’t need to redo my whole house with these NEW curtains that I ALREADY purchased!!🫣🥴🤦🏼‍♀️
So so so SUPER glad I came across your channel!! Subscribe immediately. I’m all about ease and simplicity for everything!! And you did just that. As soon as you said “I don’t have time to be doing all that measuring, that’s 30-45 minutes of my life that I can’t get back…”! I knew I had made a friend for LIFE. 😂haha😂
