To give your bed the high end look - take a comforter, put it under the mattress cover, then bottom sheet on top. If you don’t have a mattress cover just put the comforter under your bottom sheet. I use a comforter that’s a size bigger than the bed so it tucks nicely under the mattress. That gives a nice plush bed look. This is a high end hotel little trick!

    Nice tip. Here the Summary
    1) Layer 2 duvets to give volume and lush to your bed
    2) Get large scale pillows. 26x26.
    3) Layer lighting. Recess lights, pendant lights, chandeliers , etc to create mood, accents and atmosphere. Use the same temperature bulbs not to mix up the colours
    4) Add wall moulding to add details and depth to the Walls.
    5) Remove packaging to blend the look. Rebottle products, change packaging, etc makes it look more put together.
    6) Curtains: hang the rod above the window and close to the ceiling, make sure the curtains are not too short it too long. Use curtain rings to add length to the drapes. Gives more mobility and gives the high end look.
    7) Use wallpaper to add details , colour or pattern to the wall, if don't want to panelling or moundings. Easy to add interest to the room
    8) Neutral colour pallet. Stick to neutral colours, gives to versatility to change up the place with accent colours.
    9) Bring in large scale artwork. Will make a huge impact and make it look elevated. Doing diy will save money
    10) Shop dupes. To mimic designer looks and get it for a fraction of the price.

I trick I have used is to place a duvet onto the mattress and cover the mattress and duvet with a fitted sheet and then make the bed with a duvet in a cover. It really looks so comfy. I think I sold a house because of that. The buyer said "I want to get into that bed..." She bought the house.

I used the plastic candy jars from the dollar store for my laundry room. I decanted everything and it is so much more fun to do laundry now. My space looks so much cleaner without all the packaging. I did the same thing in my bathrooms, kitchen, and showers. For my kitchen I did this trick that everyone loves: I used the oxo triple soap/shampoo dispenser on my wall over the faucet. I put dish soap, hand soap, and veggie wash in it. It is all off the counter and I put cute labels on them.

Don’t do this. It’s dangerous to Anything that has chemicals and put it into a container that does not identify what is inside. You could be mixing to chemicals That give off toxic fumes. And if your child or any child accidentally swallows Something you want to know what it is to tell the 911 operator. It might look nice for a magazine but in real life this is not a smart thing to do.

Loved the podcast and all the ideas. Great enthusiasm, Kristen. Especially loved making the walls more interesting with moldings, huge pictures, wallpaper. The lighting idea about all bulbs being the same temperature and double duvet covers are winners.

Love all the tips, especially changing household products to decorative containers! I've seen this done many times but didn't think about how it changed the quality of the room. I know many love wallpaper but I am very surprised when I like it bc I always think it looks outdated and cheap. I'm amazed when I see a space with it and think wow that really makes the space look great, but it's not very often therefore I don't even consider it.

Great ideas, i'll make a point to use them in my remodeling. By the way, the color of your hair is AMAZING. It is beautiful, I've been looking for that platinum being for a long time, yours is streaked which is a better idea, much prettier effect. Thanx for sharing this video !! Going to get my hair done like THAT now!

Your home looks great. Fortunately I've implemented these tips in my home. I think you forgot one that you're already doing. Is to carry the same accent colors throughout the home in different ways in every room. Your color is definitely green like your bathroom and your shirt. This makes a home feel cohesive and more high end. If you look at model homes they always follow this design priciple in subtle ways. Thanks for sharing.

Such a great presentation. I have learned through trial and error to incorporate the majority of your ideas. I rent a Townhouse that is some builder's idea of great. Little by little I am working on each room. My question is regarding window coverings.
My living room faces west as does the master bedroom up stairs. The rooms are two small to use heavy drapes. Can you combine a darker shade like an inside pull up dark bamboo covering and also a light shear drape. One that help with hot day's and a light airy drape from the ceiling for a little privacy? Would love to have a presentation on how to use window coverings for utility and beautiful accents. So glad I found you. Thanks

What I do on my bed at home and have done for a while to make it look puffy and full, I buy 2 of the cheaper duvet inners, sew them together at the seems and then put that inside the cover. Cheaper alternative and same look, then just added a faux fur throw and tons of pillows.

Diluted fabric softener sprayed on soft furnishings like curtains and bedding is a nice affordable little trick, also spray it on radiators and the heat will make the fragrance travel further 👍🏻 you don’t need much softener, just enough so that the water starts to turn cloudy, also, too much could leave surfaces a bit greasy feeling😏
