Technology does my head in, my new phone wont pair with my bluetooth stereo but my old phone does. I panicked about my lithium battery only showing 309 milli volts but after taking it to a battery shop they judt connected it to another battery and it woke up. Apparently the BMS had put it to sleep. I'm too old for this lol. Great video's mate you two keep them coming.
I am having one delivered tomorrow, will try it with two older iPhones and a newer Galaxy,see what works.
Just got one for £150 off Amazon - this will be my home heating and in-fact emergency car heater if I break down in the snow. Fits very well in the boot with a jerry can and a Lithium battery!

I have the same problem with my smart watch , connects ok Nokia 6.1 .Bought new Nokia G21 will not connect at all .tried tried tried . Ace vid .rock on Mel.

This might help , when I need to have wifi connected to pair some things toblutooth , often you have to insure that wifi is set to 2.4 hzs not 5 hz in some cases with duel wifi phones.

I believe the app is a version of the Tuya app. It could be of interest to your viewers to know. As there are lots of cheep devices from cameras to sensors that are compatible with Tuya. It uses a cloud services for some devices that's why you need an account.

Hi Mel, thank you for the update on the App for the Diesel Heater. My wife has ordered me one for my birthday and I will be installing it in my van soon. Quick Question, I know you love 'em!. I am going to by a mounting box to install the heater under the van, I've seen other Chinese Diesel heaters mounted on its side. Do you think the maxpeedingrods heater would also OK to mount on its side? I've looked at the installation instructions and there is no mention of it. Thanks and keep up the good work.
Ignore this question Mel, I know you are very busy. I have just re-read the installation document, and it is OK to mount the Heater on its side as long as the Fuel input is on top of the heater.

Am i correct in saying, you are also connected via Wifi through the app so you can connect to it anywhere in the world,? as Bluetooth only has a limited range.
No I think the WiFi is to downloading the app
Maybe Mel had another Bluetooth device that was causing a problem. When I have difficulty pairing a Bluetooth device I make sure all other Bluetooth in the area (at least up to 20 metres away are powered down and inactive.

I agree with the email to china for a simple Bluetooth diesel heater. Why ? I used Apples email proxy 😮😮 I just got one of these a week ago but I haven’t installed it yet. Do you have any extra tips????
David McLuckie just posted a video of the same problem with I think the same heater, P.O.S Bluetooth module which and probably terrible coded app, expect it to stop working at any point in the future.
Do you know if this will work using your data if you cannot access wifi??
It doesn’t use WiFi it uses Bluetooth so no data required 👍🤓👍

I have had 3 Chinese diesel heaters all of them malfunctioned in a different way within a week, a week!!! It was a nightmare!!! I have zero exp w fixing any of the probs and it's just me so I really need something plug and play that will work. Do you recommend this??????

Hi Mel I'm seriously considering one of these for my narrowboat, main issue is the exhaust. Does the exhaust go downwards ie through a hole or can it go sideways, if it can go sideways it's certainly doable on my boat.
Yes a dear friend of mine had one on his boat but not the stand alone one we fitted the other one on it’s side and had the exhaust going out the side of the wheel house with the external tank outside worked a treat 👍

I fitted an Eberspacher on my narrowboat in the engine compartment and the exhaust is similar to how Mel jubilee clipped his to the bottom of the heater in this video. I routed the exhaust and air intake out through the sides at the stern. You'd probably have to raise the item a little to flex the exhaust pipe etc sideways and then upwards/outside.

@@UKvet246 Mike try the Facebook diesel heater forums, there have been hundreds fitted to narrow boats, you need a through-hull exhaust exhaust.
I’ve fitted one in my caravan but I have seen loads of help on the forums for narrow boats, you just need to search really well and follow someone competent as incorrectly installed on a boat can be a killer from carbon monoxide poisoning, all the best Neil
So throw the Manual away then? Because I didnt see rebecca following the instructions or pressing the non existant reset button it mentions.

Connecting to app. The App doesn't like 5ghs only 2.4ghs phone needs to connect to router threw 2.4ghs. my router has both and phone was connected by 5ghs so it wouldn't connect. swap it to 2.4. all good now.......
Looka like a load of faff , I just use the remote keyring that's supplied .

All these devices asking you to create an account do it so they have the option of charging a subscription later.

When you we're trying to connect to heater it could be that Rebecca's phone had a stronger connection than yours so you could not connect

The bluetooth standards have changed, where Rebecca's phone is older it may not be capable of the new standards and the heater is also an older standard. Unfortunately that's what you often get when you mix simple stuff with technology. I used to work on computers when "plug and pray" was first introduced, that's why it got that name in the first place. I'm looking for a small one for a sailboat and the one piece design just will not work, the exhaust would be under water and that's a problem.
Lol I find one to a mates boat in the wheel house and fitted it on its side with the exhaust going out the side of the wheel house working a treat 👍

That’s Bluetooth mate. My works minibus is sane. Sometimes my phone’s Bluetooth discovers it and sometimes not.

I can't understand why you need to connect to WiFi if it's Bluetooth.
All my Bluetooth devices till now have not asked for WiFi connectivity.
With regard to this heater, you're in a field in the back of beyond with nearest WiFi a thousand miles away.
Maybe I'm the dimmo.
Hi Alec you need WiFi to download the app once you have the app it works off Bluetooth not the WiFi hope this helps 👍🤞

Be careful with these maxpeedingrods people. They are not what they seem.
Have you had to have any difficult conversations with them yet?
When you do, I guarantee they will ignore you, switch off all comms and you will be left high and dry.
I don't get why you would want Bluetooth control on a heater you are only feet away from lol , same as them silly car stereo controls on steering wheel, no need when the unit it right in front of you . Hope heater is reliable and keeps working through winter months )
The plan is to not be close to them, when i camp mine is outside my tent as far as i can get it away for the noise. Also think about when you're in a freezing tent in the morning and want to turn your heater on.... Bluetooth is awesome
personally dont like any device thats requires me to give email "WHY,WHATS THAT FOR ? " and a ruddy password ,all i'd want to do is turn the fecking heater on. far too much faff
