  • In this video we show you how to use the blue controller/red remote for Chinese diesel heaters. The instructions which come with the diesel heaters are often very hard to comprehend. We show you how to perform the following tasks on your Chinese diesel heater
    - Priming the diesel heater fuel lines
    - setting the clock and timers
    - Navigating the menu
    - What you will see on the blue LCD screen and how to read the icons
    - Using Hz mode
    - Swapping between temperature and Hz mode
    - How to pair/use the remote
    - Heater startup and shutdown procedures
    You can purchase your own controller to upgrade here: amzn.to/2OKqHfd

      Thanks! Yeah I think it looks brighter in this video than it is in real life. I actually filmed it in my caravan which had a caravan cover on at the time so it was pretty dark in there. As you use the heater you'll get used to the controls and they are pretty easy to remember. If you have reception just come back and watch the vid until you get used to it.

    Thank you! I set the 1 on and 2 etc thinking that that was how I could set a time for it to come on in my greenhouse and then off in the morning! No wonder it wouldn’t come on a couple days ago! How silly is that for thermostatically running?! Geez! And the thermostat is totally not reliable for ambient temperature! Grrr! I have 3 thermometers/stats and this always shows 2-4 *c higher! No way to calibrate it!
    And now I now how to set to the hertz mode and pair the remote! 👍👍 such crazy instructions they sent with the units! 🤦🏻‍♀️ tonight is the test mode for it to heat my greenhouse as frost is coming on tonight! Cheers from Canada!

      @berko79  2 года назад +1

      Hi Denise, yes you are right, the way the timer is setup is not intuitive at all and makes it very annoying for doing reputative timers (like i imagine you will be doing). Also agree with you about the temperature... I actually don't think it chases the temperature and it simply changes the hz and runs the fan/pump slower for a lower temperature. The actual heaters work great, but the timers and controllers can be a bit annoying. There is an aftermarket solution called "Afterburner" which some people say is good - I haven't personally tried this but it apparently removes all these niggly issues we find with the controller.

    • @denipar69
      @denipar69 2 года назад +1

      @@berko79 yes I’ve heard of the Afterburner LCD also! I wanted to see how it runs tonight on the lowest hertz setting and what temperature it holds at for maybe a month to decide if I should purchase one.
      I tried the thermostat option a couple days ago and I found it shoots WAY over what I have it set at! The pump and heat kept coming before the heater finally dialled itself down! So frustrating when you want a set temperature for it to run at! Like +10-15* over shoot! Crazy!
      So glad I now have it in manual mode to turn on with the remote tonight! 👍🤞
      Thanks for responding!

    Thank you for the video! I have a question regarding the temp setting. I set the desired temp to 50F and the heater reached that temp in just a few minutes. From there, the heater dropped to a very low setting (6W) and ran heat on low. After 45 minutes, however, the van is now 60F, 10 degrees higher than the temp I set and the pump has been pumping the entire time. QUESTIONS: Does the unit controller know when to turn off when it's reached desired temp and does the fuel pump stay on endlessly?

    • @berko79
      @berko79  2 года назад +3

      Unfortunately it never switches itself fully off. I'm assuming this is to save the continual startup routine. It does slow itself (fan and pump) right down but if this is still too much on the minimum setting to stay under the requested temperature the area will heat up and be above the desired temp. In our Caravan/RV i've had to leave the windows open some nights to help regulate the temp as the unit cannot to it itself as the minimum is still too much.

    • @kylehowe2698
      @kylehowe2698 2 года назад

      @@berko79 Thank you for the thorough response! I also read somewhere else that turning the Hz or degrees down as low as possible helps some too. Looks like I'll be opening a window! • @gazza750
      @gazza750 2 года назад +5

      they keep ticking over so the heat does keep increasing slowly even though you have reached your required temp. Some people adjust the hertz to keep the pump supplying a minimal amount of fuel to help with the control of the temp.

    Thanks for this video, Ive got a 2 kw unit heating my semi detached house downstairs, im still struggling to get to grips with changing from manual to auto modes although on Manual it is maintaining a nice 21 degrees C in m y kitchen and living room with the doors open its running at 3.1 Hz at full chat and as low as 1.0 hz on low speed, only fired it up for the first time yesterday 20 th of Dec 2022, so im still learning, what is most noticeable is the reduction in condensation compared to runing the gas boiler it seems to be drying the air out and today we can see out of the windows. we are extracting the air from the kitchen and pumping the warm air into the living room with the heater mounted on the outside wall in a custom built box 1 meter wide.
    I think this is going to reduce our energy bhills to arouind £40.00 gbp per week from £60.000 gbp per week at the very least at first I didnt think the 2 kw would be enough to heat our 23 foot x 15 foot x 7ft ceiling height downstairs area but its doing a vary good job of it if I run it at full speed for an hour in the morning and turn it down low for the rest of the day.
    once again thanks for this I must have watched it 10 times and Im popping back occassionally to see it again.

      @@berko79 ive done some calculations now after 3 days of running for 8 hours a day with the pump set at 1.7hz pump speed on a 2kw heater, in the latest cold snap we were using £12.00 a day on a British gas pre-pay meter with no debt on it. Now since we have been using the heater if I include a litre of diesel a day we are using £4.00 per day on gas and diesel for all day heating. £28 a week or over £80 a week on gas alone. I reckon these heaters could save lives this winter, such a pity no one who helps people in fuel poverty hasnt realised their real life potential, id even give up some spare time to fit them for people. weve even bought another one a 5kw for the caravan but it is heating outside air to maintain 20 degrees C it needs to run at 2.0Hz still much cheaper than running a 3kw electric covector heater or buying gas to run the heating in the caravan. have to start on 5Hz for about half an hour as the outside air is below freezing and it takes longer for the heat exchanger to get up to temperature. ive fitted 2 silencers to this one as it was quite noisey with just one alone. some of the kits seem to come with two silencers its well worth fitting both as it gets the exhaust noise down below 50db. it was 68db with just one silencer at 5.5Hz.

      There is not a whole lot feature wise. The black one does have issues with the screen fading as it stays on permanently. There are also inferior copies of the black one which is why id recommend the blue one. I am not sure if they are making featureless versions of the blue one. The easiest way to tell on the black one is the number of blades on the fan icon - the inferior one has 3 if i recall correctly.

    Hi there, I got my heater installed a couple weeks ago, worked fine for a week then it started turning off after a few minutes of running. Red controller kept cycling between extinguished, overheating and failed start with the blue controller saying E10. Left it off for a couple days as that's what I've seen fixes the problem but now it's doing it again. I'm also having trouble turning on the priming setting. I've got no Idea how to fix this as this is not my forte so any help would be appreciated.

    • @berko79
      @berko79  Год назад

      E10 is a fuel delivery error. I'd double check your lines have no leaks. Otherwise i'm not sure if your heater had the hard nylon fuel line or if it had the kind of soft hose. If its the soft stuff they are known to be pretty bad at not allowing the fuel to be delivered properly and it might be worth swapping to the harder line stuff. In regards to priming - some controllers do not come with priming functions and some that do are a real pain to get it to trigger. I sometimes have to push the 2 buttons ever so slightly apart (like the settings button gets pushed a millisecond before the right arrow).
