My DJI decided to fly itself into a tree back at The Joshua Tree, completely lost signal too, and still haven’t got it back! 😞 That was some epic footage at the end, you’re getting me all homesick. And I miss a bacon buttie, especially with back bacon fae Markies 😞
My drones always been pretty well behaved until now. Maybe needs a firmware update! But yeah can’t go wrong with bacon!

I have often wanted a dog but the reason I haven’t is because it’d stop me being so spontaneous I think. Unless I got a van dog but I’d need a bigger van haha. But yeah it’s been a good trip!

@@Adz About 23 years ago I spent 3 weeks touring round the Western isles and sleeping in the back of my LandRover Discovery which was fantastic. Vlogging wasn’t a thing then but I have some excellent memories of the places I visited - ‘camping’ on beaches and down remote rough tracks, people I met and pubs I got drunk in 🤷🏻♂️. That was pre marriage and pre dogs days but I still miss the spontaneity of being young and just taking off - wouldn’t be without my dogs now though.
Sorry, no bloody excuses , you got it all wrong my dear, God invented dogs and vans so that women had some time on their own. Just go walk ur dog and ride ur van. Give some fresh air to the conception of tight relations hips you've got. Open up. You're stuck in routine, let go of utube daydreaming, rock ur own adventure.

Great Video matey, Its been a few years since I was at South Stack Lighthouse. It has or had a bird sanctuary on it and you used to be able to go in the lighthouse. Glad you got the drone back though. Very Lucky 🙂

@@Adz Do these drones land/rest on the nearest surface somewhere or do they stay in the air when they have lost connection with the controller?
They’re supposed to return to where they took off from. It usually does but this time it that feature didn’t work so it just stayed up in the air out at sea for about 15 mins, then came back
@@Adz That must of been a tense 15 mins, if you could see it hovering in the air, waiting for the battery to drain, knowing it would fall.
Holyhead lighthouse was the best astro shot I've ever taken! The drive there, shoot all night and drive back to Durham was the decision to buy a van 🙃
I was actually really tempted to try and get some shots when I was there but the clouds didn’t stay away for long enough. I’ll have to go back!

Word of warning about camping near to a lighthouse. When the fog rolls in the fog horn kicks in. And they are LOUD.

hey, ever thought about installing a ceramic radiant heater? they heat up to 20sq meters of space and use at max 450 watts. I do not think you would need the blanket and the heater. You could install it on the wall of the van...no fuss..one cord. 5 hours of non stop heating. since it heats 20sq meters and your van is way smaller...it would be toasty as heck!! 5 hours would be plenty to heat and then maintain your van for a good 7 to 8 hours.
I’ve not looked into them but unfortunately there’s no way I could run a 450w heater for 5 hours. That would be nice though!

I'm glad you got your drone back ! My phantom 3 Pro did the same thing out at sea off of Beachy head...never seen again. A bitter pill indeed.

Nice to see one of my favourite RUclipsrs in my home town i live 5 mins from south stack you have Anglesey island which is pronounced angle sea or ynys mon in welsh pronounced un is mon and then theres Holy island which holyhead town is on ,holy island is ynys cybi in welsh pronounced un is cuby and holyhead is caergybi in welsh pronounced kai rr guby i would say by the breakwater in holyhead would be a good place to stealth camp great view of the irish sea and holyhead mountain.
It’s a nice place that you live! I did actually see ‘Holy Island’ written as I came onto it. I’d left there by the time this video was up but I’ll check out that park up if I’m there again!

RE. Keeping warm..I got a 13.5 tog duvet and teddy fleece cover today, kept me warm all night without any heating on!! 👍🏼
Haha I imagine it’s a very high class tea towel 😂 and yeah I had a teddy fleece duvet cover and it was amazing last winter. But with the heated blanket under it, it would get a lot of condensation

Thank you Claire! It does actually say in the instructions you can put another cover over it so it should be fine. And I got one with lots of safety features and one that actually had an overnight setting. So fingers crossed it’s all good lol. It’s amazing!

@@Adz some great spots to sneaky camp near the firth road bridges. We got some really nice beaches, lochs, mountains and castle spots aswell. Great for drone shots and backdrops.

It’s pronounced ban gor and an gal sea - Bangor is about 10 mins from where I live. As you drove in to by Rhyl way it’s more English speaking and as you get more towards Bangor it gets more and more welsh speaking. South stack is a lovely place. Welcome to north wales.

Was in bandm the other day kin glasgow and saw these little Russell Hobbs 500w heaters. So at £20 I grabbed one after watching your video. So I've got it testing it out in my living room it kicks out a fair heat, I then gotva power consumption monitor to find out its real wattage and was pleased to find it ran at 350w the 500w was more a starting up power. So its definetly gonna be put in my van build that I only started couple weeks ago butvallread windows in and insulated and carpeted. But canny wait any note to get camping so I ordered an electric blanket online and waiting for it to arrive, got a couple of old batteries I've charged up and gotva 12v switch board with a ciggy lighter jack. So thatsxwhat it will be then cause I'm off for 2 weeks in a couple days. Then was thinking where to go. Looks like angelsey will do
Ah I’ll have to check out those heaters. 350w would be ideal! My 250 one is perfect for now but may need a tiny bit more in colder weather. Just be careful with a 12v blanket because I’ve not yet found one without some reviews about them overheating/catching fire mate
@@Adz cheers yeah will keep a close watch on the blankets. The Russell Hobbs heater looks very similar to your 250 one. Might be an idea if you get more heat for not much more watts. At 20 quid worth a review.

I don't know if Google maps works in your neck of the woods. If it does. You can save the area your at or going to in Google maps and when you have no signal you can still guide yourself around

We need some more stats. How cold was it outside, how cold in the van, how much battery did it use. How warm were you, really warm or just a little warm.

story) but boy oh boy, you have banged this one on the head, great content, cool informative heating info, the problems of parking, a bit of cool views, and unlike another guy too much, not over dominant, after all i came to learn about van life. Very very good!! Ps re not being able to watch a video again, without reception, is there a way to download some films docs etc. At home or when you’re in zone i wunder? (Im hoping to get one next year) have fun!
There is a way to download films on my projector from Netflix yeah. But I don’t really watch films. I just watch random RUclips videos. It’s probably worth downloading some as a backup though! And yeah it’s difficult to film in daylight at the moment because it starts to get dark around 4, but on this road trip I was already out and about so some days I was filming from earlier in the morning

Hi Adz it's crazy to see you in places I know the pronunciation is Bangor "bang-ore" the ending like iron ore and you got Anglesey spot on (angle-sea)
If you're looking for nice places close by Southport is good and there is an interesting beach at Crosby I think you will like. I live in Skem with my VW T4 now if you fancy meeting but I'm originally from Morecambe and still do DJ gigs back there but Morecambe has arguably some of the best sun sets you will see and will put you right at the start of the Lake District which I used to work up there daily so know the region well if you want any ideas for there 😊 how far will this drive about take you?

Just wondering if you had ever thought about getting a mobile router for the times when you haven't got phone signal? I guess you'd still run into same problems with no 4g or 5g. Suppose you could get one on a different network.

I was thinking they should be better because you can get some that have a much more powerful antenna that goes on the roof. A lot of the time when I have no signal in the van, there’s still a tiny bit outside the van
