      This is the unfortunate truth. For so long, Radio, and later channels like MTV dictated what people were exposed to, and what those stations play largely depended on advertisement, sponsorship, and money flowing from larger record labels. That's why genres like pop, which are actually fairly terrible, is so much more common.

      Mustaine fue parte de la primera alineación sólida de Metallica (antes tuvieron otros músicos por breves períodos). Lo echaron en el '82, pero antes de eso llegaron a tocar composiciones de Mustaine. Cuando echaron a Dave, él pidió que no usaran sus composiciones, Metallica no le hizo caso y las usaron de igual manera. Es por eso que gran parte del primer disco, Kill Em All, tiene composiciones de Dave. Incluso hay muchos riffs que no usaron en ese momento pero sí en el futuro (un claro ejemplo es Call of Ktulu de su segundo álbum, que utiliza los mismos acordes/arpegios que Hangar 18 de Megadeth, ambas compuestas por Mustaine). Otros ejemplos son Ride The Lightning, Lepper Messiah (de Master of Puppets), etc.

    • @joelg3621
      @joelg3621 Год назад +1

      Also, a GREAT example for this is the iconic The Four Horsemen from Metallica. Before Mustaine was kicked out, the song was The Mechanix. On the first Megadeth record, they play the original song, but a lot faster.

The intensity level was stratospheric! About 20 seconds of 'Respect, Walk' would change your top 3 right quick. 'Primal Concrete Sledge' will intensify any workout program. After that you will be ready for the next level.

    Metallica was founded in 1981 solely by James and Lars.
    Dave joined in 1982 after James and Lars had written 3 songs.
    Dave helped write 4 songs for kill em all and James wrote 5 songs for kill me all.
    Dave was fired before they recorded kill em all - he never played on an album.
    Dave created Megadeth possibly the only band that could really rival Metallica.
    Dave and megadeth are great but you'll find people overexaggerate his contribution and history with Metallica

    Some history on this song/album, Dave Mustane was the original lead guitarist of Metallica before he got kicked out for severe alcoholism. He went on to start Megadeth and killed it, and also wrote all the original guitar solos for this whole Album “Kill ‘em All” before he left the band. Kirk Hammett took his place as lead guitarist of Metallica and put his own little spin on each solo. James Hetfield the lead singer is also the rhythm guitarist creating the riffs. James and Lars (drummer) are the masterminds

    Hey. New subscriber. I love seeing you guys in college and experiencing this stuff for the first time. I was dying when one of you said we had to reply in MLA format. I use APA though. 😂 Been a fan of rock and metal for almost 40 years.
    Dave Mustaine from Megadeth was originally in Metallica and shares songwriting credits for several songs on Kill ‘Em All and Ride the Lightning. He was kicked out for being a jerk alcoholic. The silver lining is that he went and created Megadeth.
    Lars and James then went and recruited lead guitarist Kirk Hammett from the Band, Exodus, which you should totally check out. Old school thrash metal at its finest. They (and this is critical) also recruited bassist Cliff Burton. That is the the core, classic lineup. This lasted through the album, Master of Puppets. Sadly, Cliff was killed in a bus accident on the tour. The band then got Jason Newsted from the band Flotsam and Jetsam to play bass for many years. He eventually left and was replaced by Rob Trujillo, the current bass player.
    Metallica are unquestionably masters of their art, but they’re not flawless. After the …And Justice for All album, they released the “Black” album. It was their most commercially successful album, but there is still division among fans regarding whether or not the band sold out.
    After that, they got weird and released some albums that are generally considered to be inferior: Load, Reload and St. Anger. Those are, at the very least, disappointing after hearing the good stuff. James went and took singing lessons and changed his vocal style after the Black Album. Eventually, they found their footing again with the album Death Magnetic. The newest album, Hardwired to Self Destruct is also pretty good and shows influences from throughout their career.
    You can’t go wrong listening to these earlier albums. Just be wary of the newer ones. Try the songs Fuel, My Apocalypse, Atlas Rise and Spit Out the Bone for some of the decent newer songs.
    Hope this helps. Rock on!
