      I was in an Indian dealer today and he didn’t mention ANY of this including GPS, Touch screen etc….might need to mention that to the owner because I’m looking to order a Chief Bobber after owning Harleys over 30 years.

    This is the most thorough video that I've seen to date on the differences between the 6 chief models! That said, there are a couple of other "minor" difference that may be worth mentioning. 1, The chief bobber model comes with chrome header pipes and chrome lifter tubes, whereas all the others (except super chief limited) come with blacked out headers. 2. All of the color options are not available across all the models, so if you're married to a certain color bike, that may limit your options. 3. ABS comes standard on all of the dark horse/limited models, but is optional on all the 111 models.
    For me, I've got a Chief bobber 111 w/ABS in the Ruby Metallic on order from my local dealership. Something about that shiny red color just spoke to me.

    What an extremely well done video!!! Answered every question I had and so well spoken. I am impressed, leaning towards a larger model though at 6’4” and 265 pounds. After 5 Harley touring bikes in the last 25 years I am going to explore the Indian lineup before buying another Harley Davidson in the early spring of 2022. Maybe time to switch

      @@indianmotorcycleofsandiego25 Hy and here i am ,after two years and half ,owning and riding the Chief Dark-Horse 2022 .When i have received-it in my local Indian dealer ,it was like love at first sight 🤌🤌 Every thing was there right into place and claiming the road instantly . After 16000 km and some mods ( indian floorboards ,hepco&becker crashbars, indian passenger seat and pegs ,indian performance exhaust and 3 handlebars changed until i've found the best one for me )so the next improvement will be the seat ,the original seems to be done ,after more then 3 hours i feel like i am sitting on the frame itself 😊 .. With all those improuvements i can compare it with those touring models but keeping that bad ass stripped look and attitude ...Next adventure on it will be France-Romania 💪 Cheers from France and keeping the hope for a US roadtrip as soon as possible 🙏😊🇷🇴🇨🇵🫂

      Hey Dion, it’s a hard decision, I know. What I would suggest, is look at the Chief Dark Horse (not Bobber) to get your wheels and larger engine you’re interested in. Forward controls and bobber bars are an easy upgrade. Painting a headdress on your tank instead of the badging is also usually not a wild feat for any proficient paint shop. Our friends at Loose Cannon Customs here in San Diego would be happy to help. If your serious about building your dream bike, reach out to us here in San Diego. -Angel

    *This soft clutch is EXACTLY what's needed in all bikes.*
    *I usually like the Indian Motorcycles trademark feature of having the exhaust pipe run almost UNDER the bike. This is an absolute GREAT safety feature.*
    *Many at time, the blistering hot exhaust pipe sits right next to your ankle or inner calf ... I mean WHAT THE EFF????*
    *If you slip n fall and get your leg stuck under the bike, the pipe is going to roast your ankle/calf.*

      @@indianmotorcycleofsandiego25 -- Back in the late 1960s, a few pals and I found some beat-to-the-bone 1947 Indian Chief models. With a lot of cash, time and help from some pals of the late/great Sammy Pierce, we got those machines restored to their former glory, up and running. We also restored a military Scout (from 1942) which obviously saw combat -- the frame was blown apart and there were bullet holes in the gas/oil tanks. That machine was a real "adventure" to restore, but we got it down to 1942 military specs (including a black-out light). Those bikes went West with my buddy. I wish I had some before and after photos to share. Ride safe -- W

    How long does it typically take to be delivered after pre-ordering ?

    • @indianmotorcycleofsandiego25
      @indianmotorcycleofsandiego25  2 года назад

      This is all depending on which model you select, colors, and Indian’s ability to product the bikes. At the moment all ship dates are “estimates” and can change at any time, from our experience we’re seeing Chief models arrive 4-6 months after orders are placed, though again, this can shift at any time. We’ve been operating on a it WILL ship, it’s just a matter of when, and to please be patient as we await the bikes, and be sure you’re working with a dealer you trust holds your order with high importance.

      Hello Kevin, I also think the red is AWESOME! Unfortunately, adding Ride Command on a lower model isn’t something I would suggest, or is possible without really sketchy modifications that may not work. My recommendation would be to get one of the Dark Horses or Limited models, and work with a local painter on painting the bike one of the reds you desire. The Chief is only 3 major tins, which makes for an easy paint job! If you’d like more guidance reach out to us at the shop. -Angel

    • @indianmotorcycleofsandiego25
      @indianmotorcycleofsandiego25  3 года назад +1

      Absolutely! The bobbers specifically come with forward controls and mini apes, which is a great combination for taller riders. Mini apes and forward controls can be installed on any of the Chief models, though!
