I'm torn between the two Chief's. This and the Dark Horse Bobber. I have almost the same structure as BLOCKHEAD and he stated this bike was more comfortable, but I like how the Dark Horse Bobber looks. The handlebars on the Dark Horse Bobber and this, not sure what would be more ergonomically better. This would be my first cruiser.
The classic Indian chief without windshield or bags they don't make it anymore the new Indian chief looks like crap look like somebody took a hacksaw to the rear fender
I'll take your word for everything you said, but personally I think the look of the scout bobber is one of the best I've seen. I wish they make a scout with all those features and a 1300cc+
Bro‘ this is the best review of the chief I’ve seen so far. You took your time to release the video after the event comparing to your riding fellows that were with you but yours is what I wanted to see and hear as opinion. Keep up the good work. Peace ✌️
Thank you very much! Im new at this so it takes me a little more time and I really wanted to be thorough. It was a privilege to be invited so I wanted to do share my experience with as many people as I could as best as I could. Glad you enjoyed it!
I absolutely love your content and your story telling/video editing is top notch. In fact picked up a 2021 scout bobber cuz of you a week back.. Indian motorcycle should pay you for presenting thier motorcycles so well..
Great video hermano! It was such an honor to ride with you! I’ll never forget this trip and I hope we can link up again soon...oh and I need that Chief. Hahah
Muchas gracias hermanita! It was so cool to finally meet you and confirm you're as cool and badass as I thought! Can't wait for our next adventure on some Indian Motorcycles!!
Thanks for your honest review! I just got the scout bobber 2021, and REALY enjoy rinding with her got it this monday. I will have allot of fun with her and love the way she rides..... i even had lunch just watching her standing in front of me sitting on my doorway
It took a while, but Indian finally brought back an updated version of the Victory Gunner/Hammer/Vegas line-up. About time. Great job in doing a unique review using the Scout Bobber as a perspective.
I love the new Chief Dark Horse Bobber, but honestly... I wish they just took the Scout Bobber and put a bigger engine in it. The Scout Bobber is one of the most gorgeous motorcycles ever created and the Chief Dark Horse Bobber looks like they took that design and went back in time. If i could get a liquid cooled 116in engine on a slightly larger scout bobber with all the extra features including the TFT display, cruise control, better suspension, and ride by wire, but it looked the exact same and cut the difference in HP to Torque (Something like 100HP 100FTLBS of torque), I would buy it instantly.
They went more old school with this one for sure. I really like it but get what you mean. I wouldn't be surprise if they do come out with a cruiser with the PowerPlus engine.
I’m a long-time GSXr rider but looking to add something from Indian. This is an incredible review that’s helped me with my decision of a Chief Dark Horse for me and Scout Bobber my lady. 🔥 SUBBED!
Loved this vlog ricky! You my friend, should pursue more of this media venue. You have the voice, the look, and you relate to the every day person. I think my riding style would not really benefit having a Chief. I ride the back roads and lots of mountain curves, and with my Scout, that's where it's happy place is! Looking forward to your next video! Until then, I'll see ya on, IG! Ride and stay safe, brother!
Great review. I was set on buying a Scout until I saw the new Chief. This review helped me lean more toward the Scout as I need a bike for everyday city riding, not long road trips.
Good God the quality of your video is incredible, it's insane to think that your channel is 1 year old when it has the quality of a 5 year old channel.
Hey Ricky! I just got the new Indian Ad Postcard in the mail today and was surprised to see you in there modeling the exclusive Indian gear, congrats man, that's cool as hell!
I have scout bobber 23 titanium..man as.much I think chief is incredible..scout is unbeatable...love mine with the piggyback rear shocks updated the bike is just perfect...I don't care about techs...
There is no next step as you say lol. You buy what you like. I own a Bobber and love it and dont want any bagger bike. I got a bike and thats what I want. You dont need gps radio and bags hanging of the sides with a window. Hell just drive to where you need to with the windows down. I hate when people ask me when im going to get a big bike. My little Bobber outruns like 98% of the Indians and Harleys. Not bad for a little bike. All that said Chief is a nice bike. More comfortable to ride and still just a bike. I like them.
Yep...love the looks of the new Chief..fills a gap left by the discontinued Dyna...but with the 116 on the Dark Horse model....yeah buddy ! That's the one...someday
Ricky perfect video. I watched blockhead and her two wheels videos on chief, but your video is the best one, may be I have an Indian scout & I could relate to your review. Wonderful video and review. Thanks for nice content.
Thank you for the vid! Much appreciated. I’ve been debating whether to pull the trigger on the Scout Bobber or the Chief Dark Horse Bobber. Your perspective really made it hard! But I think I’m going to stick with the Scout Bobber and eventually move up. I want that connection to the bike that you and your wife have! And every review I have seen, people love their Scout. Keep up the good work.
Great review. So informative and down to earth. I like your honesty also. I've been a rider for almost 50 years. I've owned British bike's Harleys and an Indian. And I've been looking at this chief. But the dealer near me doesn't have any demo bikes. And never has in the 4 years I've lived here. It really has stopped me from buying one. Anyway nice job thanks!
I test drove the Challenger, and LOVED it. If I could, I’d love to own both bikes. This bike, and the Challenger as my collection. I’m definitely an Indian fan right now.
2:02 54 and riding since '88 but still not ready for the bloat of a bagger or full-on touring bike. Still considering the Scout Rogue but recently been learning about the single pin 111 / 116 and its unique sound and like the traditional pushrod and 2 valve design combined with solid reliability. Currently, rockin' an NC700X.
Loved this video. I don't ride but I've always been attracted to Indian motorcycles. In the next year or two I want to get into riding and I'm definitely going with an Indian as my first bike. Just not sure yet which one would suit a new rider, large rider like myself.
DO IT! You wont regret it! Take the course and take your time to learn. Its one of the best decisions Ive ever made. The Scout has mods to make it more comfortable for taller riders. The Chief Bobber would be better suited for taller people out of the box. You can start off with the 111 engine and when you're ready, convert it to a 116.
Ah man, thank you so much! It was a lot of fun to put together. And yes, soon I'll be posting a BTS of my trip to Arizona and hopefully I get my hands on a Chief ASAP!
I’m going through the same issues you are. Bought my Scout about 5 months before seeing the Chief-which is what I THOUGHT I wanted. But I need more, otherwise I’m too limited on range and comfort. My wife loves to ride with me, mine is a regular Scout- and now that gas prices are going through the roof, I need to commute more on two wheels. Looking at Chieftain and especially a Challenger. Not too many used Challengers. Too new and no one seems to want to give one up! I need that wind protection. Half my commute is 70 mph and highway. Not fun with a Dart Flyscreen! Not even at 60 degrees..
My first bike was a cruiser motorcycle, no storage space and no wind protection, never had room to carry anything which always limited the places i could go if i needed to carry or pickup anything that didn't fit in my pockets so i rode my moms streetglide a few times and shortly after i bought one myself but the new indain chieftain looks so much like a streetglide that i wouldn't mind having one
Great video Ricky! I adore the Scout's look. Sadly, it's not a budget bike at all😂 this channel is developing like crazy! Keep up your brilliant work mate!!
I love this review. You're always giving us a clear understanding on what we need to reconsider. I am still thinking which is which though. And I can never blame you for not letting go of your scout bobber. I would probably feel the same way too. Keep up the good work my Brother. Peace Out!
more videos man ... indian motorcycle is my childhood dream bike until now .. i'm just tryig to find out how can i get one and ofcourse the money to get the bike of my dream .. with your videos it serves as an inspiration for me that one day i'll be able to get my dream bike .. more power to you bruh ... greetings from the Philippines
Great dude doing an awesome review job. Glad you don't have noisy music added, really annoying having to adjust the volume all the time with some videos. keep it up man and enjoy your new Chief when you get it.
Very informative review. I saw my first Indian motorcyles up close when I visited the local dealership. Beautiful bikes. Unfortunately I didn't get to ride one. I did get to sit on a Chief Bobber. I prefer the taller handlebars of the Bobber but prefer the mid controls of the Chief. I'm guessing it's easier to switch out handlebars than switching out controls. Looking forward to the next demo day.
Awesome Review - I have been waiting on this from Polaris (Indian) for some years - Sold my Jackpot for a Indian Chief in 2017 and regretted the decision.... Have already Paid for my New Dark Horse - 1 more month to wait until it arrives in New Zealand!
Hey Ricky. I really enjoy your videos. You're a real cool dude. I own a '20 Bobber and like you, I wanted to get into biking for the badass look and feel of a Bobber. But after seeing your review of the Chief I'm looking at trading up if I can find one. Thanks Ricky!!!
Keep the Scout add a Chief now you both have great Indians to ride. The Chief line sounds like & looks to be on par with the Harley softail line. Love my 19 Sport Glide but have to say today I would have to ride & consider the Chief Darkhorse it’s a beautiful bike setup & trimmed out very similar to what I have done to my Sport Glide. Haven’t seen it yet but I am assuming you can get mods to let the motor rev out a bit and make say 120 HP. I do know the motor & pipes can make beautiful music.
Thank you so much brother! You can't go wrong with those two bikes in your stable. I got the change to ride a challenger and its super quick and nimble. I'll end up getting a bagger sooner than later. I
Being 6”1’ i wouldnt even try to ride the scout more than 10 Minutes, with that being said am happy for indian for finally making something to compete harleys softails it took them ling enough and although i would Still buy a street bon over this chief competition is always good!
Thanks for the detail layout of the chief vs scout. I just sold my scout as it did not get ridden. I ride a 09 Yamaha Raider as my daily and up until the chief lineup I though I would never get rid of it. The chief has me second guessing.
My man!!! As always a very thorough review🙌. This is an amazing review and man the chief look so damn sexy, no wonder why will make any scout bobber owner double guess them self. Thanks for this review ricky!! Hope to see more videos soon
Love the traditional lines on the Scout. Hey I'm 5ft 11" and weight 74 kilo but find Harleys really hard to push around. Do you think the Scout would suit me with my stats?. I think Scout would suit me as we live in a cool region of Waitaki districts South island New Zealand which is varied and great for daytrips and towns n city either side then the cafes in the weekends.
Thx for the in depth review. What are your thoughts on the Scout Bobber 20 for just riding around town vs the Scout Bobber? Did you change the seat, the exhaust & the shocks on your Bobber?
Hello. I had a 2016 SCOUT in Japan and switched to FTR in 22 years. Now I want to get Super Chief Limited. It would be helpful to hear in detail the differences from SCOUT. I'm wondering if I should buy more cars or replace it. Your SCOUT is lovely and loved by your wife!
Good review, ty Ricky n Wifey. Man I've had my scout Bobber for 3 months now done 9000k and Im never trading it in ill just have to buy a Chief as well haha cheers stay safe
Haha I guess we are in the same boat (even though you're crushing a lot more miles than me! Wow! I need to step it up!) Thank you for watching and stopping by!
@@RickyNotSoMartin winter now so the K's will drop. :) nah all your guys vids helped me to choose the Scout Bobber. Yourself and ole The Shake n Bake mainly Cheers dude and that exhaust my gawd I have Bassani slip on's, just wicked ruclips.net/video/P2TIBwUdPFE/видео.html
Excellent, thorough review. Lots of useful information for making a choice. I wish the Super Chief had a cast wheel/tubeless tire option, however. Maybe this will be an accessory option later.
Good job on the review! I really don't understand why they wouldn't have a better lean angle on a bike that size. The Road King has 32/31 per side. Come on Indian your bikes are sweet, but that's ridiculous.
Hi I have never been on a Harley or Indian but would love either very rare here in the Philippines, i just have a Honda ADV. Your reviews are amazing. ride safe
Me encanta las motos Indiana ,tengo una de otra marca y otro modelo es mi primera moto y espero tener una indians muy pronto con el tiempo .felicidades, y mil bendiciones ,buenas vibras ,saludos desde PERU.
If we ever cross paths (before you get that Chief as a second bike, you know you’re going to haha) I’d be glad to swap bikes with ya for a day! Picking up my Chief Dark Horse tomorrow. Debating on a Scout for the wife next season!
The finance guy at the dealership was unprofessional and disrespectful. Hung the phone up on me without just cause. I took my business to Harley for my first bike purchase
If you do buy a second bike namely a chief I think you will find that you will become attached to it and will not ride the scout and that may make the decision for you thanks for the unbiased and good review
Which one is your favorite Chief? Let me know down below!
For comfort, I would say the mini ape handlebars and forward controls in my opinion. Do you have a dealer near you? Take them out on a test ride.
The classic Indian chief without windshield or bags they don't make it anymore the new Indian chief looks like crap look like somebody took a hacksaw to the rear fender
The dark horse with the bobber fat tyres and forward control but with the drag bar.
Without that model Indian just lost a sale
This was the best review of the chief I have ever seen. Thank you so much.
I'll take your word for everything you said, but personally I think the look of the scout bobber is one of the best I've seen. I wish they make a scout with all those features and a 1300cc+

The air cooled engine is the number 1 reason I would go with the Chief, along with the suspension difference ! Thanks 👍🏻
Want a Scout with cruise and nav. That's it.

It took a while, but Indian finally brought back an updated version of the Victory Gunner/Hammer/Vegas line-up. About time. Great job in doing a unique review using the Scout Bobber as a perspective.
This is one of the BEST reviews I have seen on this bike, full in-depth feel and soul of the scout vs chief differences. Thank you!
Glad the Bobber is staying 😂👌🏾 Next time I’m in Austin, I’ll have to get you on the M109R 😏

Looking at Chieftain and especially a Challenger. Not too many used Challengers. Too new and no one seems to want to give one up! I need that wind protection. Half my commute is 70 mph and highway.
Not fun with a Dart Flyscreen! Not even at 60 degrees..

I loved HD to the end of the Evo. Just bought a DarkHorse 116cu. ❤
I’m a fan of the Chief Bobber Dark Horse in Titanium smoke or black smoke. Beautiful bike for sure.

I was looking at Triumph Speed twin, when I seen your thumbnail. In search for my next journey. ✌
Good Morning.
Thank you very much for your video.
I really appreciated. 👍🏆🏍 🎥🥇
What leathers are you rocking? A gear and apparel vid would be rad!
Excellent, thorough review. Lots of useful information for making a choice. I wish the Super Chief had a cast wheel/tubeless tire option, however. Maybe this will be an accessory option later.
Thank you so much Kevin! I totally understand. Its one of the reasons I'm considering the standard Chief. I prefer the cast wheels.
Good job on the review! I really don't understand why they wouldn't have a better lean angle on a bike that size. The Road King has 32/31 per side. Come on Indian your bikes are sweet, but that's ridiculous.
Top notch video, brother! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Glad you liked it! Thank you for stopping by brother!
Great review bro! Keep em coming.
More to come! Im getting the hang of this RUclips thing 😂😂
I would be attached to the scout bobber too..it's a beautiful machine
Thsnk you for the review on the chief!!! What do you think how nimble the chief is compare to the scout ?
Id like to see a comparison between the new released 2022 Low Rider S with the 117" and the Super Chief with the 116"
If we ever cross paths (before you get that Chief as a second bike, you know you’re going to haha) I’d be glad to swap bikes with ya for a day! Picking up my Chief Dark Horse tomorrow. Debating on a Scout for the wife next season!
Uff!! Congratulations Chaz! And I like the sound of that! I wouldn't mind spending more time on that beast of a bike! Congratulations and stay safe!
I went with low rider s and lost my deposit on chief darkhorse. The dealership was shady AF here.
The finance guy at the dealership was unprofessional and disrespectful. Hung the phone up on me without just cause. I took my business to Harley for my first bike purchase
Your reviews are amazing!! 👍👍
Thank you brother! Glad you think so!
If you do buy a second bike namely a chief I think you will find that you will become attached to it and will not ride the scout and that may make the decision for you thanks for the unbiased and good review
Great video Ricky.
great review I'm torn between the Indian and the triumph bobber.
