Fellow utah reefer here. Rustys is one of the best shops and ocd reefs. I just went to a 75g display and 25g sump. Everything is super happy. My 24k torch just popped another head
Awesome 💪 these come together so great after a few months. I’m using the same pump that the system came with! The only thing I bought extra were the light (kessil a360) and the heater
You didn't mention water changes or parameter swings at all. Picos are very susceptible to parameter swings and require consistently large water changes to export nutrients and replenish consumed alkalinity and or calcium
Next episode in the series will cover that ☺️ what I did say is: make sure you know exactly how much water you have in the tank for dosing purposes. Even half a gallon off might mean you’re 30% off which would be huge 😢
Correct, IF they are heavily stocked with either corals, inverts or fish. I lightly stocked pico is much less of a hassle. Fish, inverts and corals that need to be 'fed' produce much more ammonia than say, more photosynthetic corals.

Well done! Hope to see you there one of these days!
Great video! I've been watching quite a bit of your content lately.
Looking forward to the next update. 🙂
Thank you my friend!
Love this! There’s not a lot of new videos on pico tanks and I would love to start one. As a beginner this is incredibly helpful! Thank you 🥳
You’re welcome ☺️ and welcome to the fam 💪
So excited to see this series!!
This will be epic for sure! 😏
Looking to start doing nano and pico reefs as well as nano planted freshwater tanks on a rack system - lots of variety.
Niiiiiice! The smaller tanks are honestly so rewarding, and we get to focus on the detail 👌
Definitely gave me the inspiration

Do you have any videos on Blue Spotted Puffers?
I should make one! We had one for a long time

👌✌️👍
LETS GOOOOOO
Let’s gooooooooooo!
What chemicals do you start with?
No chemicals 😬 not really a fan of dosing anything other than baking powder for alkalinity, a calcium supplement, and a magnesium supplement
What pump did you use?
Just the pump that came with this setup!
Eventually we're gonna have heated cups with whole reef ecosystems haha
🤣🤣🤣 I’ve seen a jar! It’s an interesting concept!!
what happened to the update?
Coming soon! Been editing a video for another channel 😅 probably next week this video will be done!
What tank is that?
Glow fish Betta fish aquarium kit, 3-gallon 😅 not even kidding!
@tylerhuxford3440 i have a similar tank but mine has a pedistal base. I reset it up tonight after watching your video.
wtf a tang??
