I love how truly honest you are with your reviews . I have seen a lot of moms get sent these diapers and they have never mentioned the bunching in the middle . That would bother me !

Yeah that soaker sewn in the middle fitted style is a no go. I think the Sandy’s fitted is super duper easy to use and clean and just one layer with no tongues or inserts and would be the best style fitted under the esembly cover

The butterfly section in the middle of the fitted didn't bother me much. I just smoothed it out once it was dry, before putting it away in a basket. It laid flat when I put it on my baby. The size 1 inner and outer also didn't fit right away on my baby, more towards 8 pounds. I'm not sure if I accidentally kept rewinding, or if a couple sections in this video repeated... 💜 Heidi

Yea there definitely a part in there where it repeats. There’s also a clip where she’s reviewing or thinking about her next section I think that was accidentallly left in.

I am a big fan. I follow your comprehensive/ scientific/ down to earth reviews for the past 3 years.I was excited about the concept of the esembly diapers. However, in my humble opinion, the esembly company should take all your positive comments under serious consideration, apply them and make some changes. I would have loved to try this line of diapers if the inner layers were not attached / sewed in.

I’ve enjoyed using Esembly size 1 as a small part of my stash since I can dry the inners and the covers dry hanging very quickly. Spraying them isn’t the easiest and my son did need a stay dry insert added due to sensitivity. I wasn’t able to use these overnight as my guy is a heavier wetter. But he still fits in them at 6 months since he’s on the smaller size. The jump to size 2 seems extreme. He has been using the size 2 covers at night over other fitteds. I love the covers bc of the elastic and it keeps him dry as a tummy sleeper and crazy mover! I’m not sure I will be using size 2 inners as a daytime diaper bc I just don’t know if they are absorbent enough for my guy. Also my son is becoming like wrestling an alligator at change time and a 2 piece system is a bit challenging. I’ll likely continue using the size 2 covers but may return or sell my inners.

This was a super helpful review. It felt pretty even-handed, which I appreciated. As someone whose already picked up some Esembly diapers secondhand, it wasn't so negative that it made me feel like I'd made a terrible mistake - it actually made me feel good about some of its pros as far as absorbency, pretty decent sizing, ability to prevent blowouts. but also opened my eyes to things to be aware of and possible reasons to keep an eye out for good deals on other brands to supplement my cloth stash.

AMP fitteds are cotton/hemp and made in Canada!
They fit wonderfully well under esembly covers.
I think the rise snaps being omitted was intentional. Not just for beginners but for a more streamlined design and aesthetic. It has a nice clean look but still fits relatively well.
    That bunching is maddening.

Price point wise, is Esembly detergent reasonable? I keep hearing that it's good but overpriced. But I want one that works well with the cotton inners and so am nervous about a detergent not designed for them. Would you have other detergent recommendations?

I currently have Thirsties covers which I padfold a flat into and it works great, but I would LOVE a softer cover like this one. Do you think a padfold would work inside these covers?! Thank you :)

      My honest opinion:
Newborn days? ✅️ yes, it will totally work. The size 1 cover from esembly is DELIGHTFUL!
Size 2 days? Not the best option. The cover doesn't have rise settings so you can't adjust it well to keep the fabric up close to baby, it will probably be saggy on baby's butt.

@@lainaslife6351 thank you for the honest feedback!! That's why you're the best hahaha. Crazy thought (or maybe not?)...do you think adding rise snaps to the cover myself would fix the sagging issue and make it a great size two that doesn't leak? It's just the softest cover I've ever felt and I want it to work so badly hahaha. Thank you :)

Hi Laina, I am interested in building my stash of mostly GMD workhorse fitteds (as they seem so easy). I bought 6 in the newborn size + 24 newborn prefolds but would like to use workhorses almost exclusively from the medium size (with the exception of 5 other one-size diapers I already bought). With that said, how many would you recommend buying in order to wash every other day? My baby is not here yet and Im a new mom but have no idea lol. Thank you!

This was a year ago but she didn't answer and I think lots of moms would have this question... Cloth diapering my third, and I think we probably go through 10-12 diapers every 2 days towards the end of the first year. Honestly with more absorbent diapers, you need less changes. I love the gmd fitteds, I don't have any now but they're great, but you have to change them more than some other diapers, depending on the covers you use. You don't need as many diapers as you think, but it's always worth having a few more just in case you didn't get the load in the wash in time.

@@threearrows2248what covers did you use? We’re you able to use the fitteds overnight or did you need to add extra absorbency?

@@Bre_arch Hi! It's been a long time now. We didn't CD our 4th and 3 is potty trained. But I used specific overnight fitteds at night and never had a leak. They were sustainablebabyish fitteds, bamboo or hemp blend I think. And as they got older, we'd add an insert as needed. I always loved green mountain diaper hemp inserts. But try the regular fitteds and see how it works. You might not need more expensive fitteds overnight until they get older.
As far as covers, we've had so many over the years. I remember the rumparooz were the go to for nighttime bc of the deep gussets. Good luck!

    • @zule137
      @zule137 2 года назад +1

Probubly not the best idea (since it involves some hand eye coordination and modification to a pricy diaper) but based on this video I cut most of the threads and only left the very back row of threads attached (just so that I am not hunting down the inners once wash time comes around). Fair warning you can see the holes left behind by the threads (which didn’t bother me at all). I started off removing a section to see if it would bother me before I did the other sections. I removed the aforementioned sections on one diaper after washing it once and the rest brand new. I have a feeling that once I wash them the tiny holes will become even less apparent. My baby won’t be here until March but I am hoping this will help with the cleaning process.
