I finally got around to installing a 2nd SSD and upgraded my ram to 16gb. It was solely your videos that gave me the info and confidence to do the upgrades myself. Thank you for your helpful information. Your videos are extremely helpful.
I finally did the upgrade! i got another 8gb sodimm at 2400mhz so i had to clock down the ram but I don't really care about speed I just needed more RAM. I also got a 1TB SSD (A WD Blue). The performance is amazing!

I have an hp pavilion gaming laptop 15-dk1xxx i5-10300H CPU @ 2.50GHz. It comes with a 256 SSD. Can you reccommend a suitable 1TB SSD drive to add to the extra slot and a suitable 1TB NVME drive to replace the current 256 NVME from the manufacturer?

Just bought one of these used for 250 bucks. Only problem is that they gave me a power supply that isn’t quite good enough so the laptop will run in reduced performance until my new one arrives that I ordered from eBay. I’ll definitely be adding a SATA SSD and another 8GB of ram to it soon too.

Hi! I have the HP Pavilion Gaming 5 DK0007LA version of this laptop (128 GB SDD + 1 TB HDD), and I've wondering if it is possible to upgrade the existant SDD to a 500GB SDD and replace the HDD to a 1TB SDD (Sata3 of course). I asked an HP guy who told me it only takes up to 512 GB max, but I've read people upgrading other models to 2TB even.
ROFL jesus i just cant stop laughing to what this tech guys say, my question to them is: where do they pull the answers from?, they have a jar of BS?!! regarding your questions: #1. you can place any 1tb 2tb 4thb m.2 ssd #2. you can also have at the same time 1tb 2tb 4tb ssd sata #3. You will enjoy it so much :P note, i just installed a 2tb SSD sata on a client two days ago , no issue whats so ever! 4tb ssd sata: amzn.to/38bDkpJ 2tb nvme: amzn.to/3gRoUif Thank you for your support and feedback to the channel by a sub :P p.s; upgrade and make it work and then call them and as soon as they say no only 512gb or so they spit right into the phone :P

Once u upgrade the ddr4 from a 8g 2900mhz to 2x8 with 3200mhz each how would u go about changing the mhz in the bios of the laptop for the upgraded power
thank you! for the feedback and your support to the channel by SUB :P Regarding your question: THIS is a intel CPU, so you dont need to worry about the ram speed on intel cpu, if it was AMD cpu then sure ram speed can make a big difference, also if you place a 3200mhz the bios will adjust the ram speed based on motherboard not CPU. also this bios they dont have XMP option. so its auto adjust the ram speed. if you have a 8gb 2900 get another the same to have duo chanel ram.
@@uFixTekhello I installed a WD BLACK SN850X NVME SSD, WD BLUE SA510 SATA SSD, and 2× crucial 16gb rams. Im having troubles getting windows to load. I can get to bios setup
Two questions Sir please : May I ask what are SSD max storage supported options in case of both drives upgrade? For the Nvme SSD, the original had two connectors (two curves on the ssd slot), is upgarding with an SSD with one connectors (one curve only) compatible? Thank you very much.
Thank you for your feedback! If you'd like to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or do both! Regarding your question, if you have an M.2 SSD with two notches, that indicates you have an M.2 SATA drive, which is slower than NVMe. NVMe M.2 drives have only one notch. Your laptop supports M.2 NVMe drives up to 2TB without any issues. Additionally, you can also add an additional 2.5" SSD or HDD with a capacity of up to 2TB. However, if you choose an HDD, it should be low profile. All 2.5" SSDs are low profile by default. For the best NVMe drives, I recommend Samsung Pro. You can find them here: amzn.to/3CeJsgb As for SSDs, you can consider the following option: amzn.to/3NfGe2f If you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
@@uFixTek Thank you very much. I actually did more research. My windows 11 settings say that connector type is NVME, as well as HP spec for my model on their website after auto detect. Now I know that my connector supports both: NVME and M2. Thank you very much again

@@uFixTek Ok, I'll be as accurate as I can, first I removed the lid, then I removed the screws from where the extra hard drive goes, to place a 500gb hdd hard drive from a laptop I had previously, put the hard drive in place and screw everything in, put the lid on and try to turn on the laptop, but it didn't give any signs, the charger light didn't turn on either, same with the fans

Can you make a video showing how to enter/exit bios set up and advanced options please? Such as how to enable XMP or adjust ram speed as well as how to boot from a flash drive to install a new version of windows?
regarding your question: To enter tot he BIOS: power ON and once you powered on quickly press and hold the power button for 5-6 sec till you hear and feel the laptop shutdown. now you going to power on the laptop and quickly keep tapping on ESC key and once you get the menu choose f9 (i believe if not f10) that should say system bio , or anything on that line. not you in bios, unfortunately there is no advanced mode on this laptops, or on 99% of the laptops. you can't and don't have an option for XMP or any other advanced config, the bios is auto config state. the bios will read the ram to it's bes of abilities and will never push the ram to its max speed :(
What are the benefits i get from upgrading these two? I have the exact same laptop with 16Ram, should i add that nvme or the hard drive to improve performance in games? Kinda new to this ty in advanve
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P regarding your question: ok, you have a SSD m.2 only. so if you want to improvement for games or editing files, i would recommend you to get a 2nd SSD SATA 2.5" a good brand like Samsung: amzn.to/3iVcknz and place it on the left side, and have your games installed on this drive and you big files in here. by doing this the bandwidth with increase on main ssd and faster will work and load programs and files. lets say for eg. the m.2 ssd that you have has a number of lanes of 10. windows requires 6 lanes (windows works based on % ) and you left with 4 lanes for file transfer and loading. this could affect performance and durability of SSD m.2 by adding another SSD and moving the game library and files there. you giving windows a FULL bandwidth and for you files and games have its own separate full bandwidth, for e.g 10lane for windows and 10 for files and personal data. if you place the HDD instead of SSD 2.5' then you still having separate bandwidth, BUT HDD it's MUCH MUCH slower than SSD if you have any question or request in the future feel free to ask me.

you have to install fresh install of windows by following the steps: #1. a 16gb usb drive #2. download "windows 10 media creation tool" make sure you download it directly from miscrosoft website and not a third-party websites. #3. place the usb in the pc /laptop and run the application "windows 10 media creation tool" #4. follow the steps and it will download the windows setup and it will automatically burn it into usb. #5 once finished, plug it into you Laptop that you need to install the OS, and as soon as you press ON button, keep taping escape key and then a a menu will show up, and choose i think F9 (boot selection) or something related to select boot. #6 choose the usb drive from the list and the installation will start automatically, #7 when you get to the step to choose "upgrade" or choose the Custom, go with "Custom installation" #8 and when you get to the partition and drive list eliminate all partitions, and you will end up with one or two clean drive (if you have hdd and nvme it will show both there) and then choose the nvme and click next. #7 recommended to disconnect internet and when asking for windows key click activate later, and wifi selection choose later or limited. #8 5min later you done. :) thank you for your support here i made a slide pics: imgur.com/a/flIRxh7

hi and thank you for the support to the channel and regarding your question i would not recommend you to place a LM on this models. i would highly suggest you to place the equivalent paste that only has 1-2c difference with LM: the same company of the LM makes the paste version that is much safer and same result: Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut: amzn.to/2MBjZa5 and if you need to see a video on how to do so here is my video based on the repaste: ruclips.net/video/faMzGl7awqE/видео.html saludos
thanks for your answer, why you don't recommend the LM? I know that LM would have problems with heatsink that aren't made from copper, but I don't which material I have in this laptop.
nothing to do with copper or anything like problems, the LM will NOT damage or eat the copper , we tested for over 5years and never had an issue. the reason you should never put a LM on a laptop is a bit more complicated to explain: you need to know how LM is made and what does it contain and how it reacts to heat over time, so let me try to explain abit: #1. LM at its natural form is liquid based material #2. there is no such a thing that it will degrade over time and stop doing a good job transferring heat (as people tested and saw temp going up after years) #2a. the thing is that those people are tech ppl but no chemist, and if they knew that LM after 2months under heat and cold it will loose the Liquid material and it will solder it self into crystal and the copper making a perfect bound (awesome temp drops) #3. BUT once the LM is in a bounding stage and its no longer liquid , at this time the transfer of the heat is PERFECT, but any small vibration or banging around the laptop WILL crack the sealed bond that LM created. and at this point RIP awesome temps :P and it will not bound back because the liquid is not present any longer. FINAL point: IF you use LM and never move the laptop like PC or be very very gentle when moving in a bag pack or putting on a table, then sure go with LM. i hope i have explained my self and based on this you can decide what to use, recommending paste but if you like no harm done on trying LM. Good luck my friend

Hey the Samsung nvme you showed here has 1 notch at the end, while the one you're installing has a 2 notch. So can you elaborate because I can see the nvme compartment in this laptop has 1 notch slot so can 2 notch also fit? Please explain which one it supports
🫠Regarding your question, this laptop takes m.2 NVME and m.2 SATA, BUT i highly recommend the NVME as they are much much faster than SATA, and you can place up to 2Tb without any issues. NVME has one notch M.2 SATA has two notch Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me. cheers🍻
yes they all include the caddy the plastic dummy there, after you place the ssd or hdd you have to trash or remove that.I would appreciate your support to the channel by a sub :P
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P regarding your opinion: its gen 3 PCI-E and its compatible with gen4 pci-e, i recommend you highly to place a m.2 nvme 1tb a god brand for the windows and programs, and a 2tb HDD for the games and big files. the best brands that last longer secure, 🔵 TOP SSD NVME: amzn.to/3xBhEQB 🔵 TOP SSD SATA: amzn.to/3nsAmoM 🔵 2nd best SSD NVME: amzn.to/3bGEtLt 🔵 2nd best SSD SATA: amzn.to/3AgfZCK 🔵 2TB HDD: amzn.to/3aniPvb
ofc ill like and sub! :D is it worth getting hdd these days? i was planning to save up for an ssd for the 2.5in slot too. also, by best do you mean the ones you recommended are the absolute best for my model? i was originally looking at the wd sn750 3rd gen. i know this pc isnt even near mid-end, but i would like to know what the absolute best possible upgrades are for the model i have (2.5in, m.2, ram).
DON'T recommend you to have both SSD's get NVME m.2 ssd for the system and programs, and a 2TB HDD for your important files. because HDD are very secure and reliable for files. SSD are NOT. (same reason that they still use HDD on servers) by having the windows on separate drive (ssd) you are taking advantage of full bandwidth of the HDD for your use. so there is no bottleneck . DON"T go with WD green they don't last long, one thing about the SSDs you should know its not always about the speed , you need to look out for the following: -a good DRAM cache on SSD's -a good firmware (controller) -a good quality nad chips and on top of that the TBW (Terabytes Written) of the ssd must be good. because the SSD's they degrade based on how much GB (files) you save and erase, low end ssd give you 200TB, the best SSD's on m.2 or 2.5" are always samsung, they are leading SSD's again they have a categories in SSD's here is a top of the line SSDs: amzn.to/3upiIq0 amzn.to/3urQElO but again don't upgrade the to ssd 2.5 go with hdd 2tb ------ regarding ram go with 32gb pack: the good cheap and solid ram: amzn.to/3bTl1Lf video: ruclips.net/video/8-2oiUn8sgU/видео.html
@@uFixTek hi i just got a samsung 970 plus nvme and installed it. works fine but one thing i was concerned about before closing my laptop up was that the heatsink was sort of "floating upward" on the side opposite of the screw. it didn't do this with my old nvme. is this something i should be worried about?
I just ordered another 8gb stick of ram, and want to do one more small upgrade. Do you reccomend the SSD or NVME? Should I not do either until I can afford both at the same time?
i never recommend doing cloning, it has lots of complications down the road. i recommend always fresh install of the windows. its faster and much more cleaner, all you need a 16gb USB stick. and go to Microsoft website and download windows media creator tool and this app will download the windows and burn it directly in to your USB drive and once its finished, you will need to shutdown the laptop and power on and keep clicking ESC key until you see a menu on the top left and choose F9 from the menu and choose the USB drive from the list and it will start the installation of the windows from the USB. and choose advanced *custom option. and erase all the partitions that shows up and click continue, and 14min later you will be in desktop. here are some steps that you may want to know what option to choose: imgur.com/a/fdsqLtl
So the computer boots from the M2 drive? And what's in the SSD drive slot is just a fake drive in a caddy, right? I'm thinking about buying one, and I already have a 1TB SSD laying around I could install in it if that's the case.
Thank you for the feedback and your support to the channel by a SUB :P, regarding your question: YES its a dummy, the OS is running off the m.2 and you can add an extra SSD 2.5' in this fake dummy sata connector. up to 4tb.
hi thank you for the feedback and your support by a sub :P regarding your question: #1. the ram link that you mentioned , yes its compatible and it will work: 🔵 amzn.to/2QcWK84 #3. if you adding additional HDD or ssd, then you dont have to do anything, windows will detect the 2nd hard drive automatically. BUT: if you replace your m.2 ssd that has the windows in there, then i would recommend to back up your stuff. and after installing the new m.2 ssd then you have to re install windows 10 from usb stick (i made a video on that but it will be published this weekend) 🔵 500GB SSD: amzn.to/35QFXxC 🔵 1TB M.2 SSD: amzn.to/3arD33c

Your video is incredibly helpful. Sadly, I can unscrew the black screw to add my ssd. I’m so confused because my Phillips #0 screwdriver worked for the battery’s black screws. It just won’t work for that black screw holding the brackets. Do you have any advice? Thank you in advance.
if the screw drive sits nicely on the screw head then press down with force on the screw and turn at the same time lots of force , i suguest to open the laptop screen and place the palm rest of the table so you can push down on the screw without any worry about the screen, if the screw driver its not sitting fit on the screw head then use one number bigger or one less. i hope you can remove it :P Thank you for the feedback and your support to the channel.

I have this issue. So I'm looking to buy the HP Pavilion gaming 15 Dk0096wm however I've looked up all over the internet and got mixed answers everywhere. So the question is, if I wanna add an extra HDD to the laptop, does it come with the SATA cable and brackets attached or do I have to buy them separately? Because if I have to buy them separately it's an issue for me as I don't know if I can find these components easily in my country
thank you! for the feedback and your support to the channel by SUB :P Regarding your question: i would suggest to stop looking regarding the adapter and the caddy, BECAUSE, its very random depending the seller and country and many other factors. we had 6 clients bring the same laptop purchased in the same damn city and 4 had adapter and 2 didn't. the best you can do is to ask the seller directly and show my video or something so they know what you talking about, to open and check does not void any warranty.
@@uFixTek sure :) and thanks for the help. I just talked to my cousin and a few other people and they said that the SATA cable and brackets can be found in any electronics store and can be used to connect the HDD. Is It true or does HP pavilion have a specific SATA cable and brackets?
they are standard sata to flex cable and the brackets are not to important you can use a adhesive foam to keep it in place and its better than bracket as it will act as shock absorber. here is a link to ebay incase: www.ebay.com/itm/133498978377?hash=item1f1528c049:g:nLEAAOSwBqpfP3wY
@@uFixTek Thank you so much. You have been of great help. Another techy friend of mine also confirmed it isn't an issue. I was supposed to go buy the laptop today but due to this I didn't and now there's a lockdown being enforced here from tomorrow and the shops will probably reopen by around 18th May...
I'm having an extremely difficult time getting the cover off. I've been working on it for about an hour without success. It feels like it was glued on. Do you know if there is some kind of practical reason why they make it so difficult to take off?
its normal the clips are a bit hard to get loosen, but use a bit more force don't worry , just pop it open with a bit more force. you even may most likely break some clips and that's perfectly fine, because its just a cover and the screws do the job, so use a bit more force and it should come out. thank you for the feedback and support to the channel.
the ssd m.2 or the ssd sata caddy screws, dont worry there is a easy fix, use a flat head screw and press down hard into the screw and slow rotation. if that failed the you may want to cut straight on the screw heat so you can fit a flat head screw
you mean the m.2 jack (slot), is damaged then if so there is nothing you can do, you have to take it to a laptop repair shop and ask them " replace the m.2 dim jack" they will desolder and solder new jack there. that happened because you lifted the ssd too much , that's why in the video i showed you pull out in the 45degree angle, NEVER pull up any m.2 else you will crach the jack or damage the ssd. :(
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both! this models they usually never put a 4gb ram stick, the use 8gb stick,
to know it open the task manager:
on your keyboard pres and hols: Ctrl+Shift+Esc keys and the task manager will open
the click on "more details"( prnt.sc/y2yebg )
then go to : "performance" tab ( prnt.sc/y2yh7u )
then click on memory tab on left ( prnt.sc/y2ymbl )
then on right down it will say "slots used: 1 of 2 o 2 of 2"
BUT im sure you have only one 8gb
then you can only have single channel.

ROFL jesus i just cant stop laughing to what this tech guys say, my question to them is: where do they pull the answers from?, they have a jar of BS?!!
regarding your questions:
#1. you can place any 1tb 2tb 4thb m.2 ssd
#2. you can also have at the same time 1tb 2tb 4tb ssd sata

note, i just installed a 2tb SSD sata on a client two days ago , no issue whats so ever!

Once u upgrade the ddr4 from a 8g 2900mhz to 2x8 with 3200mhz each how would u go about changing the mhz in the bios of the laptop for the upgraded power
thank you! for the feedback and your support to the channel by SUB :P
Regarding your question: THIS is a intel CPU, so you dont need to worry about the ram speed on intel cpu, if it was AMD cpu then sure ram speed can make a big difference, also if you place a 3200mhz the bios will adjust the ram speed based on motherboard not CPU. also this bios they dont have XMP option. so its auto adjust the ram speed. if you have a 8gb 2900 get another the same to have duo chanel ram.

Two questions Sir please :
May I ask what are SSD max storage supported options in case of both drives upgrade?
You can find them here:

As for SSDs, you can consider the following option:

If you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
@@uFixTek Thank you very much. I actually did more research.
My windows 11 settings say that connector type is NVME, as well as HP spec for my model on their website after auto detect.
Appearently, the original SSD that came with it (KBG30ZMV128G TOSHIBA/KOXIA) is a rare case of SSD that has to curves on the design but still supported on NVME connector.
Now I know that my connector supports both: NVME and M2.

Can you make a video showing how to enter/exit bios set up and advanced options please?
Such as how to enable XMP or adjust ram speed as well as how to boot from a flash drive to install a new version of windows?
regarding your question: To enter tot he BIOS: power ON and once you powered on quickly press and hold the power button for 5-6 sec till you hear and feel the laptop shutdown.
now you going to power on the laptop and quickly keep tapping on ESC key and once you get the menu choose f9 (i believe if not f10) that should say system bio , or anything on that line.
not you in bios, unfortunately there is no advanced mode on this laptops, or on 99% of the laptops. you can't and don't have an option for XMP or any other advanced config, the bios is auto config state.
the bios will read the ram to it's bes of abilities and will never push the ram to its max speed :(
@uFixTek thank you! That helps alot.
It's unfortunate that the ram speed isn't adjustable.
ya they should add the xmp option to the laptop bios , but i guess they don't want to.
@@uFixTek is it possible to replace or upgrade the cpu on this laptop?
no amigo, the CPU GPU are BGA, they are soldered on board and are none upgradable.

Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: ok, you have a SSD m.2 only. so if you want to improvement for games or editing files, i would recommend you to get a 2nd SSD SATA 2.5" a good brand like Samsung:
amzn.to/3iVcknz
and place it on the left side, and have your games installed on this drive and you big files in here. by doing this the bandwidth with increase on main ssd and faster will work and load programs and files.
lets say for eg. the m.2 ssd that you have has a number of lanes of 10. windows requires 6 lanes (windows works based on % ) and you left with 4 lanes for file transfer and loading. this could affect performance and durability of SSD m.2
by adding another SSD and moving the game library and files there. you giving windows a FULL bandwidth and for you files and games have its own separate full bandwidth, for e.g 10lane for windows and 10 for files and personal data.
if you place the HDD instead of SSD 2.5' then you still having separate bandwidth, BUT HDD it's MUCH MUCH slower than SSD

this video helped a lot but can you please explain how to make the os run nvme because I installed a Samsung 970 evo and I cant get it to run the os i am stuck and don't know what to do and its just on page that says 3F0 hard disk and to install an os
you have to install fresh install of windows by following the steps:
#1. a 16gb usb drive
#2. download "windows 10 media creation tool" make sure you download it directly from miscrosoft website and not a third-party websites.
#3. place the usb in the pc /laptop and run the application "windows 10 media creation tool"
#4. follow the steps and it will download the windows setup and it will automatically burn it into usb.
#5 once finished, plug it into you Laptop that you need to install the OS, and as soon as you press ON button, keep taping escape key and then a a menu will show up, and choose i think F9 (boot selection) or something related to select boot.
#6 choose the usb drive from the list and the installation will start automatically,
#7 when you get to the step to choose "upgrade" or choose the Custom, go with "Custom installation"
#8 and when you get to the partition and drive list eliminate all partitions, and you will end up with one or two clean drive (if you have hdd and nvme it will show both there) and then choose the nvme and click next.
#7 recommended to disconnect internet and when asking for windows key click activate later, and wifi selection choose later or limited.
#8 5min later you done. :) thank you for your support

Hello, can you apply Liquid metal in order to reduce temps? I'm looking for that kind of video in this particular model.
hi and thank you for the support to the channel and regarding your question i would not recommend you to place a LM on this models. i would highly suggest you to place the equivalent paste that only has 1-2c difference with LM:
the same company of the LM makes the paste version that is much safer and same result:
Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut: amzn.to/2MBjZa5
and if you need to see a video on how to do so here is my video based on the repaste:
ruclips.net/video/faMzGl7awqE/видео.html
saludos
thanks for your answer, why you don't recommend the LM? I know that LM would have problems with heatsink that aren't made from copper, but I don't which material I have in this laptop.
nothing to do with copper or anything like problems, the LM will NOT damage or eat the copper , we tested for over 5years and never had an issue.
the reason you should never put a LM on a laptop is a bit more complicated to explain:
you need to know how LM is made and what does it contain and how it reacts to heat over time,
so let me try to explain abit:
#1. LM at its natural form is liquid based material
#2. there is no such a thing that it will degrade over time and stop doing a good job transferring heat (as people tested and saw temp going up after years)
#2a. the thing is that those people are tech ppl but no chemist, and if they knew that LM after 2months under heat and cold it will loose the Liquid material and it will solder it self into crystal and the copper making a perfect bound (awesome temp drops)
#3. BUT once the LM is in a bounding stage and its no longer liquid , at this time the transfer of the heat is PERFECT, but any small vibration or banging around the laptop WILL crack the sealed bond that LM created.
and at this point RIP awesome temps :P
and it will not bound back because the liquid is not present any longer.
FINAL point:
IF you use LM and never move the laptop like PC or be very very gentle when moving in a bag pack or putting on a table, then sure go with LM.
i hope i have explained my self and based on this you can decide what to use, recommending paste but if you like no harm done on trying LM.
Good luck my friend

DON'T recommend you to have both SSD's get NVME m.2 ssd for the system and programs, and a 2TB HDD for your important files. because HDD are very secure and reliable for files. SSD are NOT. (same reason that they still use HDD on servers)
by having the windows on separate drive (ssd) you are taking advantage of full bandwidth of the HDD for your use.
so there is no bottleneck .
DON"T go with WD green they don't last long, one thing about the SSDs you should know its not always about the speed , you need to look out for the following:
-a good DRAM cache on SSD's
-a good firmware (controller)
-a good quality nad chips
and on top of that the TBW (Terabytes Written) of the ssd must be good.
because the SSD's they degrade based on how much GB (files) you save and erase, low end ssd give you 200TB, the best SSD's on m.2 or 2.5" are always samsung, they are leading SSD's again they have a categories in SSD's
here is a top of the line SSDs:

@@uFixTek Thank you! Do you by chance have a video on transferring my OS to the newly added SSD?
i never recommend doing cloning, it has lots of complications down the road. i recommend always fresh install of the windows. its faster and much more cleaner, all you need a 16gb USB stick. and go to Microsoft website and download windows media creator tool and this app will download the windows and burn it directly in to your USB drive and once its finished, you will need to shutdown the laptop and power on and keep clicking ESC key until you see a menu on the top left and choose F9 from the menu and choose the USB drive from the list and it will start the installation of the windows from the USB.
and choose advanced *custom option. and erase all the partitions that shows up and click continue, and 14min later you will be in desktop.
here are some steps that you may want to know what option to choose:

and after finished windows you have to to windows update so it can download and install automatically all the drivers. *Simple windows update

Thank you for the feedback and your support to the channel by a SUB :P, regarding your question:
YES its a dummy, the OS is running off the m.2 and you can add an extra SSD 2.5' in this fake dummy sata connector. up to 4tb.
@@uFixTek Thank you much!
Thank you for the support :)
Would I have to do something to transfer over my files from my storage device to the new one? I'm new to all of this.
hi thank you for the feedback and your support by a sub :P
regarding your question:
#1. the ram link that you mentioned , yes its compatible and it will work:
🔵 amzn.to/2QcWK84
#3. if you adding additional HDD or ssd, then you dont have to do anything, windows will detect the 2nd hard drive automatically.
BUT: if you replace your m.2 ssd that has the windows in there, then i would recommend to back up your stuff. and after installing the new m.2 ssd then you have to re install windows 10 from usb stick (i made a video on that but it will be published this weekend)

@@uFixTek Yeah I subbed already no worries! I have one of these laptops (15-dk0xxx), is the larger slot you showed in this video just called a SATA slot - and should any physical drive size named as such fit in the slot HP provided? Or is there more details I need to know (such as 3D NAND SATA) to make sure I buy the right hard drive. I'm not gonna change my 256GB m.2 just because it's more hassle to have to reinstall windows etc
in the sata slot you can place any HDD SSD 2.5 up to 2tb without any issue, nand 3d stuff has nothing to do with the sata port.

Mine is 8gb ram with ryzen 5 3550h and 1tb hdd so can i add a 256gb ssd? And can you suggest one can you also suggest me a 8gb ram
for the SSD there is no limit ON GB they are all compatible but the best option i recommend its this: amzn.to/37IYD2M
regarding the ram you can go up to 32gb without any issue but having 16gb total thats more than enough:my video on ram:

Your video is incredibly helpful. Sadly, I can unscrew the black screw to add my ssd. I’m so confused because my Phillips #0 screwdriver worked for the battery’s black screws. It just won’t work for that black screw holding the brackets. Do you have any advice? Thank you in advance.
if the screw drive sits nicely on the screw head then press down with force on the screw and turn at the same time lots of force , i suguest to open the laptop screen and place the palm rest of the table so you can push down on the screw without any worry about the screen, if the screw driver its not sitting fit on the screw head then use one number bigger or one less. i hope you can remove it :P

here is a video i made to check what is your max capacity, we get a lot of clients come to the store for upgrade and we always check the max capacity via this command:

if yours it says 16gb the 8gbx2 if 32gb 16gb x 2.
let me know what the command shows.

I already have files and games on my laptop, so if I replace the ssd will it lose my files? Or will it just transfer over to the new ssd.

regarding your question: if you have m.2 ssd and your windows and files on that ssd, and you want to add extra HDD or SSD sata , then you will have no problem regarding your file, all you will see is extra drive in your computer and you can move you file into so you can free up the space on your m.2 ssd.
I installed hdd but it does not show anywhere in laptop when switched on
Can you give me more details of what you did?,
1. Did you add extra hdd or ssd?
2. Did you add the extra drive in the sata adapter?
Can you provide me a picture of your Installation?

I have this issue. So I'm looking to buy the HP Pavilion gaming 15 Dk0096wm however I've looked up all over the internet and got mixed answers everywhere. So the question is, if I wanna add an extra HDD to the laptop, does it come with the SATA cable and brackets attached or do I have to buy them separately? Because if I have to buy them separately it's an issue for me as I don't know if I can find these components easily in my country
thank you! for the feedback and your support to the channel by SUB :P
Regarding your question: i would suggest to stop looking regarding the adapter and the caddy, BECAUSE, its very random depending the seller and country and many other factors. we had 6 clients bring the same laptop purchased in the same damn city and 4 had adapter and 2 didn't. the best you can do is to ask the seller directly and show my video or something so they know what you talking about, to open and check does not void any warranty.

That black screw on the SATA drive bay will not come off I NEED HELP ASAP!!!!
you will need to push hard in to screw and rotate , press hard down into the screw and rotate. it will come out
I'm having an extremely difficult time getting the cover off.
@@uFixTek I finally got it off,but now I've got I've got a new problem. I accidentally stripped a screw on my SSD slot. :(
the ssd m.2 or the ssd sata caddy screws, dont worry there is a easy fix, use a flat head screw and press down hard into the screw and slow rotation. if that failed the you may want to cut straight on the screw heat so you can fit a flat head screw
Hi I think I broke the little black thing that holds it down , I put it back and stuff but it’s loose and doesn’t read the ssd any suggestions?
can you send me a pic of the "black thing" so i know exactly what you talking about so i can give you a solution. use:

The black thing holding it down it’s loose , I put in a sata ssd WD 1TD into it
you mean the m.2 jack (slot), is damaged then if so there is nothing you can do, you have to take it to a laptop repair shop and ask them " replace the m.2 dim jack" they will desolder and solder new jack there.
that happened because you lifted the ssd too much , that's why in the video i showed you pull out in the 45degree angle, NEVER pull up any m.2 else you will crach the jack or damage the ssd. :(
