    From a guy who has done many of these upgrades, going from an old spinning HDD to a solid state drive is literally a night vs day difference. And SSDs, for the most part, tend to be much more reliable than older drives.

    Duablo 2 Khalim’s relics. Khalim’s heart enables the ⚠️ triangle at 6 and 5%. His eye heated up the cells, actually did nothing. His brain cooled down the + and - side pairs, left the middle memory effected, with less temperature, and the brain reduced fan speed. His heart enabled all cells to be cooler, and the triangle icon appeared instead of the x at 7,6,5 %. The whole laptop became a little bit cooler. Also, the brain enabled fan test during startup. I didn’t find the flail yet. To do this permanent fix, you have to find the relics on battery using power saving mode. The laptop will be better on ac , too.

    For the operating system I would actually recommend Windows 10 LTSC. The reason why I chose this is kind of hard to explain, so I’ll try and explain it the best I can. Normal windows 10 includes a lot of crap that most people won’t use on a daily basis or at all, for example 3-D viewer, Cortana, and a lot more. So LTSC gets rid of all those unnecessary apps. Not only that but the background processes are reduced, increasing the performance even for an SSD.

    • @aaronjohn786
      @aaronjohn786 11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi. What is LTSC?

    • @Technologyandmore731
      @Technologyandmore731 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@aaronjohn786 basically LTSC stands for long-term servicing channel. LTSC gives you support for Windows 10 until 2027 and removes a lot of the Microsoft bloatware. it also removes features like Gamebar, and a few other features. So if you’re going to try gaming on that version of windows 10, I would highly recommend having a separate version of Windows 10 for that, because if you are gaming with something that requires the game bar you’re gonna get nagging notifications about it missing. However if you download IOT enterprise you’re gonna get supported Windows 10 until 2030, however I think the same features are removed.

    • @Technologyandmore731
      @Technologyandmore731 11 месяцев назад +1

      It runs good. It’s maximum speed is 100mps, and is usually at about 50-60% of it’s maximum 4G RAM, but good with 2 or 3 tabs open. I put Windows 11 pro on it about two years ago. Of course not as snappy as my newer machines, but i try downloads on it experimentally before downloading it on the other (assure there’s no spyware, etc.)…. It’s amazing when you can keep an old 17 year old laptop usable in today’s technology. I mean, … this is not like keeping an old ‘57 chevy running. I know eventually i won’t be able to keep it going ( like if win 12 says it’s minimum require ment is 8G RAM for example). Anyway, for now…these days it runs windows 11 Pro pretty good on it.@@ChristianCercizi

    Did this plus some to an HP Probook 4430s not too long ago.
    It turns 13 years old this May and had 8 gb of ram, an Intel i5, and the original HDD. Boot time almost identical, and took a total of 6.5 minutes to get up to full operating speed (i.e being able to connect to internet and open Google)
    Replaced the HDD with an SSD ($45), swapped the i5 for an i7 ($15 new on Aliexpress), did 16 gb of DDR3 Ram (2x8 gb, $17), a new bluetooth card to replace the original wifi card and restore bluetooth capabilities ($6), and a wireless wifi dongle ($9).
    My only griefs are that running Windows 10 kills the fingerprint scanner and the screen bright/dim keys because they were only supported on Windows 7. Hardly an issue, but still sad that I lost them. Bluetooth was also lost in the Win 10 transition, but I was able to remedy that and still gain faster wifi speed.

    What version BIOS does this laptop have? Manufacturer of Old laptop like my 2011 version Dell Latitude e5420 has not upgraded its BIOS after 2013, so my laptop does not even recognise SSD drive. I was unable to replace my HDD with SSD as it is not recognised, but I was able to upgrade my RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB and subsequently to 16 GB.
    My laptop boots up slowly, in about 4 minutes, but it works on windows 10 reasonably fast after booting. That when Dell specifically mentions that this laptop is not supported for Windows 10.

    For a better comparison, just clone the original hard drive to the SSD.
    That way the config, updates etc will be identical and show you the true performance boost.

      @jesusr925 15 дней назад

      @@ABCDEFart Nope, but for precaution you can change your SSD every 5 year (only if you are really paranoic). Actually (well-known brands) SSD's are very affordable and reliable, and in case of failure, the difference between magnetic HDD and SSD is that in HDD you can recover data easily than SSD, but the best combination is to save important data in HDD and run operating system, programs and games in a SSD. And there are a lot of software tools with you can check the health of your SSD, so you can decide when is time to replace it.
