Got back into gaming after about 15 year hiatus 😂 yes you read that right - got a PS5 on a whim in 2022 and the first game I got was Control… I absolutely loved it. Never played Alan Wake - but I love Remedy - the Max Payne games were some of my favorite. I’m so pumped for this game, but I’ve actually never played the original - would you say the remake / remaster version is worth a play through?

Looks like Alan Wake 2 succeeded my expectations; this is the Northlight engine at its maximal apex. The visceral aspect of the game is as hypnotizing as Control.
So many great games coming out this year but there is literally no way this doesn't end up being my personal GOTY. Much love to Remedy and the Alan Wake community!
Max Payne, Alan Wake, and Control were all my personal "Game of the Generation" for XBOX, X360, and XONE. I see no indication that Alan Wake 2 won't take that for the XSX Generation for me as well. lol
Yeah I played through control and thought it was phenomenal. Playing through the opening hours of alan wake 1 currently. Am looking foward to the sequel so much!
@@frankbasile3662 I have PlayStation and while I adore it for the exclusive titles there is nothing of real value added by playing multi-platform games on it. I'd rather play it on Xbox with the more comfortable controller AND more importantly the system where I can suspend multiple games at once. Drives me fucking crazy I can only suspend ONE game at a time on my PlayStation.
I don't need sold any more on this game and yet every new video that's released gets me 1000x more excited for this sequel. Been waiting a very, very long time to play this and I can't believe it's only a month and a half out now!
Matthew Porrettas performance at 4:19 makes me incredibly hyped for the sequel, Seems like either Tom Zane/Mr Scratch is taunting Alan about never getting out of the dark place and Alan is going to go completely Insane by the end of the it.

i've been a huge fan of Alan Wake 1 and Control and after finding out both of them were connected I was blown away. Wish we would get crossover between two games at some point.
I'm playing AWE dlc control now, so much connections. Earlier in the game there were already lots of them. Kinda curious for Alan wake 1. Though horror is not my genre. I'm just blown away by the looks of aw 2

Alan Wake and Control are the "loudest" connections but... Well... shit I won't ruin Alan Wake 2 for you, but I would highly recommend a replay of Max Payne and Quantum Break before this hits.

They way they speak about New York City and Alex Casey, how far in front he seems to be, and with the character being voice acted by Max Paynes' voice actor, and physically being acted by Sam Lake... I'm just saying, I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't setting up for Alex Casey to be the spiritual successor to Max Payne in the Remedy Connected Universe. It would be the greatest gift they could give us long time fans and add another vital piece to the overall Remedy puzzle.
I'm so obsessed with the idea of placing all this graffiti and signage throughout the Dark Place that is directly reaching out to Alan and the player. Makes you feel uneasy and always on the look out. Remedy's attention to detail was incredible in Control and it looks just as good if not better here.
Am I the only one who remembers Alan Wake's American Nightmare and how it portrayed him getting out of the Dark Place, defeating Mr Scratch and rescuing his wife?
I love the dedication and attention to detail Remedy shows to its game, and Alan Wake in particular. Btw never heard Ilka speak before, and I feel like he could very well pull the whole character off, not just the body work (Matthew is great ofc, but just saying)
This dark version of new york is really something from remedy's past.. max payne.. specifically noir york from address unknown with wake playing both the protagonist and his dark reflection john mirra.. I knew it when I saw the phone booth
I started replaying Max Payne 2 the other day. Not even because I'm looking forward to AW2, but I was noticing a lot of parallels in that kind of urban and dream sequence imagery in even that game's first hour. I could tell from the Dark Place demo that there will be a lot of little visual details to the environments that will have that same kind of smell-the-roses effect as seeing a TV show, billboard, or graffiti in MP2. Very excited to see Noir York City again.
I am so beyond hyped for this game. Since 2012, when I first read This House of Dreams, I have imagined the sequel having the undertitle 'Initiation' - and now I am seeing that concept coming to fruition. And the inclusion of Mr.Door/Hatch from Quantum Break! It is filling me with so much joy and anticipation. Can't wait to dive into Remedy's dark world once again.
I'm not really into horror games, but this game just looks mind boggling good. Same and better quality as quantum leap and control. That game engine is so bad ass

Max Payne 2, is still a masterpiece and holds up today, I just played all of them again , took a bit of updating to get Max Payne 1 to run on steam, but I got it going, and damn its still great too! I played all your titles over the last 8 weeks to get prepped for AW2. I will always support Remedy. One of the last great game studios. Thank you for caring about your games and characters and your fans. Absolutely brilliant. I think of Remedy games as interactive Art. I hope the Pink Flamingo makes an appearance in AW2.

There are very few developers whose content I never miss, and Remedy is at the top of that list. Sam Lake is one of my favorite video game storytellers and I'm excited to see what's coming in just a few weeks.
The only game devs I trust when they tell how the game unfolds, and I know this game is not going to be a buggy mess because they respect and love their fanbase!

Remedy gave us Alan Wake, one of the most twisted and inspiring games of all time that lives up the legend; That's why I recently experienced it on PS5. By releasing Control in 2019, Remedy showed us they've grown so well and can add so much meaning to their stories and gameplays. I'm looking forward to playing Alen Wake II, a sophisticated game like the first one inspired by great movie makers like Hitchcock, Kubrick, David Lynch, but with the depth of the script of Control 2019. I'm sure this is going to be a masterpiece!
Ikka and Mathew are a team they are a perfect match I'm gonna miss both in the near future when they are unable to work anymore they both carried Alan Wake for almost 20yrs I wonder whose going to turn up out of the remedy Universe I think we going to be surprised who pops up I wonder if we'll see the Anderson twins and the full band in the 70s when they themselves faced the shades and lost baulders also Emil was around too so it be shocking how this story's going to play out the Anderson Emil and Tom definitely knew each other in the 70s
I cant wait for this game to come out I think the Max Payne Remakes are going to look insane if they use the same stuff on it which I'm pretty sure they will

He has a pretty similar voice to Matthews as well but I guess the accent can be heard a bit.
