Every song and lyric is brand-new and specially crafted to fit within the world of Alan Wake 2 in collaboration with the game’s Creative Director, Sam Lake. From setting the mood to being filled with lore and mystery, the songs from this collection play a significant role in Alan Wake 2’s storytelling and plot.

It is impossible to dislike Sam Lake. He truly is an artist in an industry that is completely forgetting about the art aspect of video games.
Every time I see Sam Lake, I instantly smile, no matter how shit my day has been. Never change man, never change!

Hearing the "Wide Awake" song after Wake emerges back into the real world was genuinely emotional for me. A great song.

Yep it brought me to tears aswell, from both a sense of excitement and joy that Alan was finally free from the Darkplace
Just finished my second playthrough on Final Draft and yes, again, I felt quite emotional at this very moment. Been listening to the song and the rest of them quite a bit after my first playthrough, so knew it was coming, but man - it fits so well in that exact moment!

I like how much attention Remedy pay to art in their games. And it's very cool to see them choose Scandinavian musicians to relay Scandinavian vibes of their games. Authenticity matters.
Nordic, not Scandinavian. Finland is not part of Scandinavia.
Also, nordic music has nothing to do with pacific northwest, so choice of music might be right for aesthetics and mood but has nothing to do with authenticity.
@@fixxer47 a large part of AW2 story happens in Watery - a town founded by Finnish immigrants. So nordic music has everything to do with it.

This project really enhanced my experience with the game. Finishing a chapter and reflecting on what just happened is such a different experience when you can listen to the song, read the lyrics and the words you're absorbing are actually about what you're trying to process.
Listening to Superhero really made me connect more to Saga and what was going through her mind. The dialogue in the game made me understand what was troubling her. But the song made me actually feel what she was feeling and that made the experience way more emotional and almost brought me to tears.

@@mcsisawesome Apparently she contributed to writing/producing Wide Awake and Night Springs as well. If you pause the video at 7:10 you can see the songs that have "Yasmeen Semaan" in the credits
Props to Remedy as the only large studio that puts art and creativity before business!

He definitly looks like he works so much because it's his pation. He is invisted/commited with love for his work like it's pure art. The game is probably the best 70$ investissement i did in videogames in the last 5 years.
This song, Follow you into the dark, is so gorgeous... it gave me shivers as soon as I have started listening to it and now every time I hear it, I am soooo moved. I will live on beyond the story. The entire soundtrack is incredible!

All the songs on the album are amazing and tie into the game so well, but the real stand out is “This Road” by Poe. Not sure why it isn’t included on the album, maybe Fried didn’t have anything to do with its production or something. Weirdly it’s not on Spotify either…
Remedy is definately a giant. when it comes to game experiences and immersion they always blew my mind, I simply cannot tell another game studio like this except Rockstar, its always great to hear what Sam Lake have to say about his games, it's always great to listen to him, and I do have a special connection to Finland, it's hard to explain, but it makes me feel so proud of Remedy... 💜
Thanks Remedy for this masterpiece, I got sadness and happyness at same time, in the same game... some tears droped in both stages, but, its the part of the show, get involved, the meaning of ART! I cant thank enought for this experience.

Thank you Remedy for not giving up on us or skimping on quality. I'm just beyond excited that Alan Wake 2 is even happening! I had almost lost hope I'd ever see a sequel, and then I came across the "This House of Dreams" ARG years ago and my hope was rekindled. I was just listening to "No I don't Remember" by (Anna Turnheim?) and "Haunted" by Poe and just thinking how much love was put into the soundtrack. This is gonna be epic!
I'm here Just to say thanks to sam lake for going against the people who said to remove from the game,the part with poets of the fall in Allan's wake part,with the musical in giant screens!!! It was the best part/ the most fan and enjoyable part and also very unique, i haven't seen again something like this in any other game, i loved it!! Thanx again Sam for not letting them remove that part and thanx poets of the fall for that great song!!!!! Its just amazing and love the electric guitar in it!!!! and also the other one with saga, the summoning was great too!!! Thumbs-up!!!!! 👍👍👍

I love that Remedy has so many behind the scenes videos, and it wasnt just there for false hype; the game lives up to the words they say in the videos. That makes you realize they made all these videos to document something they knew they were proud of and the gane was going to be great.
I've been listening to the Chapter Songs album on loop. I hope the full soundtrack can be released soon!

Loved the episode credits music in the first Alan Wake, especially the episode two ending song Haunted by Poe. So epic! Can not wait for more of those moments in the new game!

Can we just appreciate the creative genius that is Sam Lake. This man has been entertaining us with their games since 1996 with Death Rally. Later in 2001 with the amazing Max Payne franchise and from 2016 and on with Quantum Break, Control and Alan Wake!
And you guys did a great job! All the songs are 100% certified bangers!

Music in this game is on another level
Remedy has always been insanely great at what they do, but with Alan Wane 2 they stepped outside the boundary’s of how good a game can be, everything about this game is absolutely phenomenal.
Remedy has shot up to one of my favorite studios, and Sam Lake is easily my favorite writer / director along with Cory Barlog.
You can tell he’s extremely passionate about the work he makes, and cares.
I’m extremely excited for the upcoming DLC’s for Alan Wake (that Jesse/control snippet gave me literal goosebumps), and for Control 2.
Finished the game today. I really enjoyed the chapter songs. Superhero is my favorite I think.

The definition of a LOVE project
I hope this game sells as many copies as possible. I played Alan wake when I was 10 years old as it came bundled with my 360 and it scared the shit out of me. I didn’t remember much from the story because it has been so long, but oh my god this is masterpiece storytelling. Im about to graduate college and have been on the fence of what direction I want to go with my degree but I know I want to go into some form of media. This game shows that the video game medium is every evolving and this game has inspired me to pursue a career in the gaming world because I want to tell stories as inspired as this one! What a great team of passionate people!

Alan Wake 2 is a really cool and original game.Remedy has made a product of the highest level, which is much cooler than most modern large AAA projects and the music in the game is just as cool.I liked "Follow you into the dark" the most.
Remedy games are the reason why I started studying game design, hoppefully I'll be able to create game as good as theirs one day

I remember really digging Poets of the Fall song “late goodbye” for max Payne 2 closing credits. Cool to see them as regular collaborators for Remedy under the pseudonym “Old Gods of Asgard”.
At 3:46 thats Dark Twisted and Curel, albeit it sounds like an earlier mix and draft of the lyrics, but then at 5:38 theres another version with a woman singing it and it sounds so soft and calm. I really want to hear what that take on the song was, like how?
