Video Description:
It's been requested in the comments and here it is. This video will give you a demonstration of the upper and lowercase Gothic calligraphy with a pencil. You can follow along and practice each letter.
This video is my first quick tip video in my series of teaching calligraphy for beginners. This is to show how to create your own calligraphy tools from items you have laying around the house. This video specifically showcases blackletter calligraphy and the two pencil trick.

Did you get the modification for the pilot parallel? It’s supposed to allow you to use bottle inks, I was wondering how well it worked.

@@Calligrascape Hello Nice stuff. I use a carpenter pencil in which I shave the two wide sides to a flat thin tip that's as wide as the lead, about 1/4 inch, then I use a needle file to file a center gap about 1/16 in. in the lead so it gives a two lead pencil effect, I use sand paper to get the angle I want, It lets me write in cursive that looks like ribbon writing. Do you know anywhere that might sell these types of writing instruments online or anywhere?
@@seeDiersoilcrossrowds Cool, I was thinking of doing a carpenter pencil video at some point! The only kind of writing instrument is a broad edge dip pen called an "automatic pen" that you can find here: www.paperinkarts.com/automaticpens.html

Two pencils together (sometimes color pencils)
Chisel tip Expo or calligraphy markers
Carpenter pencil
Homemade Dollar Tree quills
Dip pens

Does it take a long time to learn how all the gothic calligraphy alphabets are? Is it easy to memorize?
It's actually not too hard. For the first while you'll be practicing/copying and with that much practice it kind of imprints on your brain

Do a google search for gothic calligraphy alphabet, or old English alphabet....you should be able to figure it out from there.
(In case your still lost, g is the 7th letter🤪Joking.)
