People who do not live in the tenderloin will never understand. I was homeless from 1979 to 1986. I was one of the lucky ones to get out. Now at the age of 55 and live far away from that night mare and I find nothing has really changed. Nobody Cares!
Victoria comes across as somewhat normal, until you really listen. What a scam artist. She would leave, but for the three cases yet to be settled from victims assistance. If she has any skills, sounds like she isn't planning to use them. She left home years ago, but takes money from her 79 yr. old father. I'll bet if you could talk to him he could tell some stories. Sorry, I have compassion for people but she is full of it. Her story has more holes than Swiss cheese.
drugs can make your life a living hell with very little chance of escape ............ and they will blame everything and everyone around them for it ... (you have to see yourself as the only one who can fix your problem , then any help you do get from outside yourself will actually be help and not a bridge to your next high) ..... if drugs and alcohol werent involved , they would have gotten back up after every defeat and in most cases become smarter and stronger (richer and wiser) .... but the substances take away their confidence and drive .... turns it into "fuck it!!! i will just get drunk and high" ..... the quick fix , that costs you everything and takes your life , energy and youth. .... thank God he rescued me from this same life , i fight the urge to use and drink daily , i guess it never really goes away , but i know to never ever ever ever take that drink or drug no matter what ... no matter what happens good or bad ... or i will be back to that hell on earth .... Thank You Jesus!
I like this lady and her honesty.maby we can meet one day She's highly intelligent.we don't know from day to day where our journey will take us.im s gypsy at heart.i was raised in an orphanage from the age of six until eight teen years of age and then I was on my own .I'm 73 boy do I have stories hood and bad.i did educate myself went to college.im now retired they say it's the golden years well that is a falsehood.im so damn bored.im thinking about buying an RV and hit the open road while I still can because I still have a lot of life in me.mentely lm in my fifty's and that's a good thing but my daughter wants me to be up under her stomach all times.im lucky but it can and does get on my last nerve.lol.i love her dearly.i still want to fly.
OMG - she is a real good actress and on drugs for sure too. Don´t blaime her for being homeless - living on the streets makes something weird out of most homeless people.
I have this mythological theory that many broken people head west to San Francisco as the place to fall apart. You should watch Black Tar Heroin Dark End of The Street. It's one of my favorite documentaries on heroin addiction in SF.
The west has always had a certain attraction for people who "don't fit in" wherever they are. Sometimes it works out, sometimes not, perhaps depending upon why it is that they don't fit in.
+kneejerker If you want to be technical. I was grasping for ways to articulate something so deep and in the past, that no one would ever know where it comes from or if its real or just in the imagination. SF is very rich and prosperous, but there is a tradition of lost souls finding their way to San Francisco.
When she was a teenager she was probably really good-looking and charismatic. (I’ve seen American Sign Language teachers who gesticulate less than she does.)
She's on the street for the same reason most are, she's an addict. She seems like a nice lady, and not mentally ill, so probably crack, or alcohol, doesn't look like the heroin type. It would be interesting if you asked these people if they have an addiction, and if so, what they are addicted to.
You're correct that drugs and/or alcohol are often a factor. However, in Victoria's case I didn't see evidence of that, her issues seemed to stem more from bad relationships, but anything's possible.
+Party Of The Third Part drugs are definetely a factor and a lot of times alcohol is the trigger to other emotions and bad memories which trigger a Domino effect leading a one way to rock bottom
Colorful interview. Very good. Conducting the flow of the interview, you have to go with it. As I am watching it, what she tells you about the law and then dentists, she is full of bullshit. My intuition tells me she seems bipolar and possibly entering a manic phase.

Its really cool how you are these people like PEOPLE. I hope that you are helping them out and giving them opportunities though.
John Paloglou Well, I do pay them a not-insignificant "fee" for their time.
Do you still currently do these videos or have you stopped and you just have these older ones here? Just curious. They are very interesting.

Back Tar Heroin is my all time favorite documentary. It seems like Tenderloin was different back then. But I guess all places are!

Bad, abusive relationships and poor decisions can lead to homelessness pretty quick
