I lived in the tenderloin. Right on the corner of Hyde and eddy. 333 Hyde street apartment 12. I over dosed on fentanyl. Came back to Fremont,. I’ve been sober for 2 1/2 years now. Being in those streets I look back and I’m so fuckin glad I didn’t get hurt or killed.. I’m so happy I made it out alive… I have “friends” out there I think about and wonder if any of them are dead or if any of them made it out yet themselves… I have PTSD from being on that street. Flash backs often.. that life style is a hard hard HARD one… I’d do anything to show people what it’s like.. and how hard it is when you get wrapped up to get out… we need to clean that whole area up and it shouldn’t be this hard… it’s a slum… a slum I’ll never forget..
I tried to get into a shelter in sf a few years ago and I got put on a wait list where I was number 947 or some shit. They called me with a spot 7 months later after I already robbed n pillaged my way back to my own apartment in Roseville so the system didn't work for me at all.

There is no answer for most who are homeless. You cannot force someone into rehab or mental health facilities.
