Will someone please tell me why popular music today is nowhere near the talent level of these magical brothers?
because record companies sold out
You had to have talent back then. Regards.
You can tell they REALLY enjoyed singing with each other...true brothers!!!
I love Dean Martin❤️ One of the reasons is because Dean brought The Mills Brothers into my living room. I love them! The Mills Brothers! 💫✨❤️
I play this music regardless of how much my kids complain. Our kids need to listen to treasures like this.
That's what I'm talkin bout! Go head Mom of The Century!!!!
AGREE.
My kids decided to like it! And Johnny Mercer, and The Ink Spots, and Dean Martin, and Perry Como, and Patti Page, and Doris Day, and Jo Stafford, and the Boswell Sisters, and...😄
My 3 year old often requests Mills Brothers. Especially loves Paper Doll, Old Man of the Mountain and How'm I doin'.
Oh my how I wish I could have seen and heard them in person. The absolutely best harmony I’ve ever heard.
Donald, Herbert and Harry Mills (not to mention their late brother, John Junior) raised the bar so high for vocal harmony gymnastics that they still set the standard of excellence, nearly a century since they first gave it a go. So much so that Dean Martin himself considered them to be his own role models. Absolute, utter perfection.
I didn't know that Dean looked up to them. Wow smh! I Know Dean Martin has great vocals almost like he was a Brother himself. Not that it matters but you cant help hearing it when you a musician & a brother who's played in the church and other soul music lol. I've Always loved his voice.
You are absolutely correct. John H. Mills (Don's song) is continuing the tradition by celebrating the 100th anniversary of the group.
They were the best of singers I've ever heard
Agree 100% !
The Kennedy Brothers was not taken from us,neither by Lee Harvey Oswald,or by Palestinian Sirhan Bishara, but by a Japaneese/Austrian,living in Stockholm,Kungsholmen.
What a class act!
Wow. I'm only 69 but I love this song
Grand gentlemen of song. Exquisite voices, beautiful presentation and everything that personifies true entertainment.
Just LOVE them!!!!
Their voices will live forever!
❤❤❤ i Love them
Such a great group. They always looked like they were having such a good time doing their songs.
...................... They were having fun. Combine talent and fun and this is what you get......

..
The coolest two acts on the planet Mills Bros and Dean Martin!
The exact date I arrived in Vietnam. Must be the reason I missed this show. Didn't get home for the next 2 years, 7 months. Wish I had been here for this show.
Thank you Glen for your service.
@@Scripts360 Robert, I want to thank you. I really appreciate your thanks.
Thank you for your service 🇺🇸
Glen- Glad to know you're still here and can enjoy them. Thank you for stepping up when you were needed.
@@dogman4100 I got the call and I answered. A whole lot of us got the call back then. So wish they all were here to enjoy. Thanks for the note. You have a good day.
Almost 53 years ago this video aired and I was not born yet
I really hate the fact that I was not alive at that magical Years
CLASSIC! When I was a kid this music came out of one of my dad’s greatest and unaffordable purchases, a Curtis-Mathis b&w console with doors in front of the tv, am radio and a turntable up top . Benny Goodman, classic opera & composers, Sinatra, Bobby Darin, the Beatles, the Carpenters, Dean, Franky, Buddy, blues, jazz, Ella, oh, Ella and many more plus ‘Bubbles’ on tv. We only had 3 network channels, pbs and 1 independent that all signed off after midnight with the American Anthem. Left me to listen to radio at night in the summertime. NOW I’m trying to navigate a ‘computer in my hands’ with buttons to small for fat fingers which is 1000 times more powerful(exponentially) than the controls and genius that sent men to the moon and back and built the most elegant air breathing jet EVER, the SR-71.
What a joy it is to listen to true artists that are perfect w/o earbuds LIVE on stages everywhere, is it not a privilege? Honestly, you must be humbled ….. btw; I’ll only kneel before my God but stand proudly for America
Performing for 40 years and still making it look fresh!
This is the truly remarkable thing over such a long career - they kept it fresh and they kept getting better. Some of their later performances are so polished, yet they still left room to play and improvise and keep it fun and fresh, rather than mechanical.
This makes me smile with delight! Who in the world would give it a thumbs down?
Ruth Resetar only an idiot would!! Great Harmony!!
Someone who knows absolutely nothing about outstanding music and outstanding harmony
dean truly loved these guys!!!
And you can not blame him
I was 16 when I first heard them on the Dean Martin show. Oh Lord, were they ever wonderful! Great harmony. I wanted to listen to them more than any rock group. And yes, they were classy.
This is class you cant beat it
So thankful that we live in a time when we can see and hear these marvelous artists. This is what I grew up on, and it's called ENTERTAINMENT. A wonderful time before we dumbed down to sloppy and crude.
Their music and their enthusiasm is infectious. It is too bad that so little of their performances exists on video.
I am happy to say that as the archivist for the Mills Brothers Society, we've been able to obtain many hours of video of the Brothers.

OMG such talent. Good harmony...sounds like one voice. Always loved these guys. Dad and Mom had this type of music playing all day long. Lets bring this kind of talent back.
Same here My Dad always had their music playing. Even though I was born in 1950 I often asked my Dad to play their music. Dean Martin as well.

The incomparable Mills Brothers
Perfect harmony. Pure class.
Dean loved to sing with them........ I love them together.......
You could tell he was a fan of them
I`m nearly 56 years old and like many genres from blues to classic rock yet when walking down the street many times I`ll sing ` Cab Driver ` to myself; hum it if out for a walk on a trail.
I love these guys. Dino, Sinatra. We'll never see their likes again. Sadly...
Love to hear the Mills Brothers sing Glow Worm. Cab Driver. Dean joined the Brothers singing Up The Lazy River. 4-14-2020.
I also love "Don't Blame Me" because it really showcases their beautiful voices.
By far the best ever

Look v pleased while performing with his idols. How charming.
He's missed.
Nice to see the full sequence for once.
Deano might possibly be the coolest dude ever. Mills Brothers are great, too.
is it so wild that dean could sing with those guys and you would swear he was part of there group
Good harmony is a gift,It’s rare to find non siblings pull it off.
The Mills Brothers & The Everly Brothers were the best,in my opinion
Fabulous!
Should you look up the word perfection in the dictionary, you would see a picture of The Mills Brothers. 👍
The best.,,,,
The Fabulous Mills Brothers! SWINGIN'-RAGEOUS!
I love these guys singing.
I'm very happy with their's songs😊
Pure talent - few today can even pretend to compare. Talent survives fad and generational buzz.
Dean loved Harry Mill's
Oh yeah!! God I wish we could get season sets of The Dean Martin Show on DVD. This is so great and brings back memories of better times.
My dad's favorites. They are truly fantastic.
End of story. The greatest and the greatest.
Thanks for taking us back to the good times
This guys really looks so humble when they sing especially the left side guy he does his thing and never overpowered the lead singer thanks we have internet if not I will not know them
. Beautiful tenor voice
That was Herbert
Dean Martin and the Mills Brothers are still the best
Grandi, che classe!
I’ve been trying watch everything I can find on RUclips on the Mills brothers since I saw them with Dean. Pure talent! I wish there was individual biographies on the Mills brothers. I would love to know more about them. I’ve found some old interviews with them and didn’t realise Harry Mills was loosing his eye sight and was complete blind but he kept performing. The audience didn’t even realise - what a class act!
I was lucky enough to see them 4 times in person. This was late 70's, 1980--in Florida. . 2 venues were supper clubs where we talked to them two different times. They were the nicest, most approachable guys you could meet. Even Harry was nice to speak with even though he might have been totally blind at this time. Donald and Herb were very nice too and got to speak with both of them one on one.
I first heard Glow Worm in my grandparents' car at the age of 10. When I asked them who it was, Grandma said she had a Mills Brothers cassette at home. 😁 I played that thing non-stop for a long time.
That was 25 years ago. They are now happily a staple of my musical library. As is Dean and the rest of the fellows (and ladies) of that fine era. Wish I had been around for more of it ...
Amazing, fabulous, that's show business,
The Blackstones
Fantastic
The mills brothers where my dads fave group along with the ink spots, great entertainers.
I can see Harry in Dean! Especially his gestures and facial expressions. You can tell when they sing next to each other. That was his idol, not Bing, it was all Harry.
Lol it’s almost like Dean is nervous then he wants to impress at the end 😃😂😂 he’s having the time of his life!
So true 💖
👀
@Michael Terrell II I got that quote directly from Greg Garrison (his producer) so....👌
Paper Doll is my favorite.
I remember when Harry passed; it was big news. My mom loved them and said they always made her think of her late mother. They sound fabulous, love them
Fun Fact: The Mills Brothers hailed from Piqua, and Dean Martin was born in Steubenville ... In other words, that was an all-Ohio quintet performing on the stage there! 🙂
Great video! Thank you for sharing! I absolutely love the Mills Brothers!
Love this! Just noticed the date it was recorded..... my fourth birthday!
Great! class....
Love these guys. Watching again
They are the best
I love the Mills Brothers!! I went to one of their shows in Hawaii during the 70's. Don walked me back to my hotel so I would be safe.
A gentleman! Rare these days.
@@glennhart3634 wow really? How did he act? Say anything special?
What a thrill!
@@TheUnQuake I am sorry I just saw your question. I don't remember what he said. I am 82 now and this was in the 70's. It was a long story ...my husband at the time had got 2 tickets for their show and in the meantime he got mad at me and wouldn't go; so I took both tickets and went by myself. I was there for the first show and loved it; since I had the other ticket I stayed for the second show also. I had them take a picture with me. I still have the picture. It brings back wonderful memories when I hear them sing!!
@@normadoll9780 Amazing to hear. Hearing their music is really amazing, thinking its so almost 50 years old now is mind blowing. i was born 1998 so really before my time. amazing musicians. Best wishes from Sweden in these hard times!
I'm proud to say I grew up hearing this
They are the best!!!!
They were GREAT!!!!
Beautiful.
Can't find talent like this anymore. What a shame
ALL CLASS. THANK GO I REMEMBER THESE GENTLEMEN
They are the best love there music
Wow. SO good
When music, was music 🎶
Love there music
I served the Mills Brothers dinner one night in the early 1970s at the rooftop restaurant of the Blue Horizon Hotel on Robson street in Vancouver. Saw, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. (Old blue eyes, old red eyes, old 1 eye) in the 1980s at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver. My son is kind of named after Dean Martin.
If someone had a gun to my head and made me pick my favorite Mills brother i couldnt do it i love them all with all my heart
Me too!
Doesn't get much better than this.
This has been my favorite group since I was less than 6 years old. I remember listening to their 45's at my grandma's house. I now have my great grandmother's Victrola an I'm listening to their 78's. Some music is immortal!
My dad had all their records including 78’s. I am 62 so they were playing when I was in my cradle. My husband hadn’t heard of them till he met my dad, was converted. Dean Martin was a regular on record then once a week on the tv. Sinatra, Billie Holiday we’re favourites he passed along to me & mine. Glad this has been posted.
That is entertainment at the best❤
Man harry was so cool
Wow! How fabulous is this?!
Wonderful Mills, Harry the boss. 👍&👏
