Mark my words..someday...when rock, hip hop, electro music, and reggaeton run their course.. this music will return..just hope it won't take a million years.
It's said Dean got (well, OK, 'stole') his on stage persona from Harry Mills - and I'm so glad he did. You can see the great affection Dean had for Harry & his brothers - and I can absolutely see why he felt that way.
Give Sinatra his due. But he could never have pulled this off the way Dean does! Thank God we have RUclips to be able to enjoy these classics from our youth!
Dean started out imitating the Mills Brothers style and voice inflections until he hit upon his own style. This is the ultimate thank you, that they’re sharing the stage together. How cool is this. Wish I’d seen this live. Marvelous
WOW, the joy is flowing here, from Dean, the Mills brothers right to the audience and we can feel it some 50 years after the fact!!! DM and Mills brothers sure would have made one heck of an album. This kind of music and joy is timeless. Try to listen and watch this without smiling and your foot tapping.
Mills Brothers standing the test of time - so well put and so very true. They're a timeless act, beautiful phrasing and flawless harmony with these three remarkable men.
@@CaruthersHodge Its almost unreal when you hear them, even now. I can imagine what people in that era thought when they first heard them live. It must have been a big event to see such a talent.
Mike Giambruno I do too, the trouble is that I badly need a time machine! Wouldn't it be nice to have entertainment and music of this quality still the norm....
+Arby Fatbuckle ... Dean's producer Greg Gerrison once said he ask Dean who he fashion his singing after. Dean told him after Harry Mills. Greg also mention if you ever noticed a lot of Dean movement is fashion after Harry. Most of the time when performing with them Dean will have his hand on his idol shoulder. His way to show how much his friendship with him meant to Dean.
Dean not only can sing like no other but he entertained with his charm, comedic ways with ease. He was born to preform. No singer during his era could do it all like Dean then add his looks to the mix. Nobody could take his place. RIP Dean
........ Actually fb30xhk, it's easy to understand. We have most WW2 folks gone now, the generations after either had it in their homes, or they didn't. Our family did. So here I am at 61 loving all this music. But today's generation, has no desire for it. It was never played in the house when they were little kids. My parents had this stuff on LP records, and played them over and over. WE grew to love this great music. Today's kids listen for a minute or two, and switch to another station. They are bored with today's music. { can't blame them there }
The Mills Brothers were affiliated with my hometown and had a home on the street where I grew up on Eastern Avenue in Bellefontaine, Ohio. The home still there today. I remember my maternal grandmother and my great aunt talking about it. Looks like true gentleman. Love it!
I grew up listening to the Millis brothers. I worked at Goodwill many years ago and we had a cassette player. I brought my Millis Brothers tape to work one day to play. People came in and they would hear that and want to know what station we had the radio on. I would tell them it aint the radio its the Millis Brothers.
Never hear music like this today. It brings back memories of the good old times. Wish that audiences of today will be able to enjoy music such as this.❤❤❤❤
I'm 53 , i grew up listening to the mills Brothers ... They are the best . Dean knew it also... He said he emulated Harry and even used his mannerisms ..
My six year old granddaughter said tonight " You know Grandma, fireflies are also called glow worms." So, Glow worms brought me here! Thank you so much for The Mills Brothers upload. This is her first time hearing them.
A time like this, I’m always feel thankful to the hi-techs/RUclips. Not to mention- Thank you for the uploading. Wish you/All in good health. Take care🙂everyone.
Funny enough this sketch was actually based on a true story. The Mill's brothers did play in Steubenville and encouraged Dean in the early days before he teamed up with Jerry. Dean never forgot them. To show his appreciation The Mills Brothers appeared on Dean's T.V. show many times over the years.
Deana dear don't forget to put this medley with the Mills Bros.in a DVD with all of your Dad's hits !!! We LOVE IT ALL ALWAYS !!!!!!!!!! Besos from Belgium Edward
"Lips that touch liquor shall never touch mine!" If you're in a hurry and don't think you can spare six minutes to watch in its entirety, move the sound thingee over to the 2:00 mark. I defy anyone not to burst out laughing as Dean Martin self-parodies his supposed (fictional) addiction to booze. Frank said Dean was "never drunk" on stage. Worth watching from the beginning as Dean recalls that when he was starting out, he got to share the same bill with The Mills Brothers. Thanks Dino4Ever for sharing. Victor,...................... one can only hope you are correct. So much of music today is far away from...... entertainment.
We can only hope ❤️🥃
best comment ive seen on yt.
The best. Love this music!
I'm doing my best to make that happen. Mills bros, cats and the fiddle, ink spots to name a few were the best ever!
What's cooler than cool? Dean and the Mills

The Mills Brothers were all class. Dean admired them so much, it so evident. Dean was class too.
A brief glimpse back to a time when variety shows lived up to their name. Thanks for sharing this with us! 🙂
Dean was like a little kid in a candy store he loved the Mill's Brother's and they loved him back RIP Guy's
I bet part of his drinking may have been tied to missing them so much and witnessing their triumph despite the ills of society
@@jimmyterry2842 it would lead a many to drinking. The societal ills of our society.
Dean talks and sings just like Harry, what a role model to have
how can 21 people dislike this? We dont have any entertainment like this today and we never will ever again.
Mike Giambruno thats sadly so true. At least we can still listen to them.

The king of cool , our friend, Dean
After I read a book that his son wrote about him,I had even more respect for the man. Dean Martin was a good human being.
henry ross I thought it was his daughter who wrote the book, but no matter, it was insightful.
Greatly miss all these great performers !!!
@@davidoickle1778: Both his son Ricci and his daughter Deana wrote books on their dad.

Cool. Nothing beats the Mills Brothers.

Love Deano and I love the Mills Brothers. They make quite an act.
The epitome of class, Dean Martin.
At least the Mills Brothers actually had peers that actually loved and respected them.
I am sure there were many many peers who looked up to them they were very popular which is a understatement
So many memories of watching my mom and dad putting on a record and turned down volume and dancing .... they were so in love.
All that class on one stage!
Watching all these videos of Dean Martin singing with the Mills Brothers makes me smile.:) Great talent!:)

No, he drank apple juice & with a drunk act he carried it off for many yrs.
True musicians and true Talent and a True Classic that will withstand time!
Dean LUVED the Mills Bros. & patterned his vocal style after Harry Mills. It worked to a Tea.

The brothers were home-state heroes to Dino--hence the mutual special affection.
