I never understood why people hate on hoobastank, I enjoy their music. I saw them live when they opened for incubus in 2006. I was incredibly impressed at how great they were live. Incubus was great as well.

They opened with this track, and it was pure energy and enthusiasm throughout the entire set. Since it was basically a metal festival, Doug introduced "The Reason" by announcing "This is the heaviest, most brutal song you're gonna hear all day," and then did some hilarious death growls over the opening notes before starting to actually sing. The whole band radiated an awesome, energetic attitude. Pure positivity. I'm primarily a metal fan, but I have to admit, Hoobastank were one of my favorite acts of the day. Pure fun rock and roll.
I watched The Reason and afterwards Same Direction and I now understand that Same Direction is the continue of The Reason..and it's fucking amazing! Just a short story..love it!

Yeah The reason was pushed big on MTV back in the day but this wasn’t for some reason. I guess cause it’s more punkish and not so mainstream pop.
