Great song. Played this as a drummer in a cover band back in the day. Tricky! 3/4 time (not very common in rock/pop) and with a bunch of intricate flourishes and hi-hat grooves that take some concentration. Tight song, still sounds great today.

This song brings me back to a better time. Fond memories of place I thought I'd never miss. Doing things I never dreamt of doing. Sights, sounds, and smells too. True nostalgia feeling.
Listening in 2024 at 31 yrs old i remember listening to this song on my old MP3 player back in 2008 at the beginning of my freshman year of high school when I was 14/15 in the 2008/2009 about 16 years ago time sure does fly can’t believe im already in my 30s this song feel nostalgia I would ride around my neighborhood with my mp3 player listening to this or on the school bus on the way to school and on the bus on the way home from school it was one of those mp3 players that took AAA batteries it took 1 battery and it would last me like 6 or 8 before I had to replace the battery wish I had a iPod back then as they were rechargeable but my parents couldn’t afford to get me one as they were expensive so I ended up with one of those mp3 players that used to be sold at the dollar store.with like 4gb of storage
I listen to a lot of stuff these days, lots of stuff like Opeth and Ulver and I'm pretty critical of music, but this will always be the music that I grew up with and hold a special spot in my heart.
Same here. I was force fed radio disney until 2000. My dad got sick of it and started letting us listen to KROQ. I gravitated to deathmetal in 2006 but this was the first real music I was allowed to listen to.
This was the last thing my brother sent me before passing away from a birth defect/Illness he had been fighting for 30 years. This song will always have a place in my heart.
I still remember like it was yesterday, commercials and advertisements, and hearing the spokesperson saying... *"The brand new album by Hoobastank, featuring the hit single, Running away."* Meanwhile you could see this bits of this music video playing in the background. I feel like, we were closer to our music in those days, it was available online, but more people at the time, just went out and bought the CD. The Cover and booklet, it really expressed what the artist was trying to convey. Digital isn't bad, but it'll never have that tangible feeling, which for me, elicits a strong memory.
Anyone here in 2024 ? 39 now. This song takes me back to great days !! 😢

Hey I'm young, 25, and I like 60's music. Beach boys, Ozzy, the Chantels
You goddamn right man !
These type of songs never fucking die !
Man pop culture was so much better 20 years ago. Wtf happened
If only we could go back in time to simpler days.
Thank God for RUclips I can count on for reliving the past
QUE BUENA CANCIÓN DIOS MÍO NO PUEDO DEJAR DE ESCUCHARLA
WHY NOW WE DONT HAVE SONGS LIKE THAT OMG I HATE THIS 2015
2019 even worse than 2015 i'm from the future btw^^
I'm also from 2019.
Modern music is now stale and repetitive. You have to dig deep to find modern treasures now.
Im here after 7 years and i have 2 kids try to make them listen some good music
I listen to a lot of stuff these days, lots of stuff like Opeth and Ulver and I'm pretty critical of music, but this will always be the music that I grew up with and hold a special spot in my heart.
opeth? hahahayeah! i keep with tool and porcupine tree from Steve wilsom, but this hoobastank song is quite good!
Same here. I was force fed radio disney until 2000. My dad got sick of it and started letting us listen to KROQ. I gravitated to deathmetal in 2006 but this was the first real music I was allowed to listen to.
Chills. One of my favorite bands.
Bagi gua, dari band ini lah dimana kita telah mencapai klimax nya sebuah era generasi musik rock.
Amo essa música , essa banda sdds! 💗🇧🇷
I miss 90s and new millennium rock music, ughhh.
Adoro essa música, Melhores momentos da minha vida foi no tempo dessa música 😍
Es muy buena música
This was the last thing my brother sent me before passing away from a birth defect/Illness he had been fighting for 30 years. This song will always have a place in my heart.
I love how Dan plays that guitar, so much passion
I still remember like it was yesterday, commercials and advertisements, and hearing the spokesperson saying...
*"The brand new album by Hoobastank, featuring the hit single, Running away."* Meanwhile you could see this bits of this music video playing in the background.
I feel like, we were closer to our music in those days, it was available online, but more people at the time, just went out and bought the CD. The Cover and booklet, it really expressed what the artist was trying to convey. Digital isn't bad, but it'll never have that tangible feeling, which for me, elicits a strong memory.
True...this smartphone era sucks old is gold.
I still buy albums. Nothing like having the booklet. Loved going to fye and seeing all these albums for obscure bands I enjoyed.
