This is exactly what I was looking for
Glad to hear it! thanks for watching!
Thank you for this video it helps understanding. I will en using redeagle ar5 to ls adapter and their adapter doesn’t have the slots for the lines. But you do need to make holes on the bell housing. It would be as simple as me just getting shorter lines and using all oem parts. Instead of using the fabbot mod slave
I saw on marketplace an add for an ar5 for 1200 today and it was at that moment I realized a budget manual swap just isn't feasable for me. The junkyards never get manuals it looks like, the WC t5 I pulled for my dads truck for 150 dollars feels more and more like a fluke every day
Try looking for a solstice or Saturn sky they’re more common than the Colorado and a better transmission
I’m doing the exact same build man nice! I got an old pickup with a 4.8 just rusting away and a blown up rx8
That's awesome!! Are you also going with the AR5 trans?
gastancehouse I’ve been tossing back and forth between the ar5 and a cbd009
Leaning toward the ar5 tho… are you worried about final gearing with the rx8 diff? I know it’s terrible with the stock cd009 gearing… like 4000rpm at 80mph in 6th gear terrible
@@taylorthomas2880 I think 5th gear in the Ar5 is slightly better than the CD009 which will help. Also, I think I plan on running 19s with the widebody kit which will also help. Overall I am not super worried, but we will see how I feel about it when I am cruising down the highway at 3500 rpms haha!
Overall, the AR5 was just so much cheaper of an option that I felt like I had to give it a shot. the CD009 was definitely second on my list.
Let’s goo
No harness needed since is a manual?
What transmission you using is a s 10 1997 4 cylinder s
Which AR5 did you use? Solstice or Colorado and does it line up with the factory shifter location?
I am using the Colorado trans. Hoping to have it mocked up in the car in the next week or 2, but based on some rough measurements the shifter will be sitting almost a foot forward from the stock Rx8 location. I will be making a linkage to relocate it. Hoping I can do this with minimal modifications to the dash, as I think the AR5 shifter will be sitting up that far.
Brother, I think the bleeder needs to be on top.
Rewatched the video just to make sure I didn’t mess something up! Lol I did put the bleeder on top so maybe I was just too confusing haha
My bad man! I just did mine and rewatched this just to make sure I was doing it right. They used to be spun around the other way.
