Hey ya'll I just thought I'd let you know I've had Swiss Coffee from Behr for many years in my dining room and more recently my kitchen . Love it so much and I don't get tired of it . Thanks for the videos , they're great.
Thanks for the video. These colors are just what I was looking for. I love the simplicity.
I'm in the process of picking a paint color and Plaster of Paris is the winner. Thanks for all your videos on it!
I am addicted to Swiss Coffee. I have used it on 3 houses and an entire church sanctuary.
Benjamin Moore or Behr?
Have pictures or video? I’d love to see the sanctuary.
What brand??
I hated it.
It's honestly meh
Thanks so much. I've subbed & binged your fantastic, informative, super fun content and I'm going with BM Swiss Coffee for walls (eggshell) & trim (semi-gloss) throughout my 1960 brick ranch.
I’m gonna need this video a few
More times bc warm neut is my vibe
Wonderful video. Thinking of painting my living room, dining room and hallway Behr's Almond wisp. It's a nice greige. I painted a small section of my walls in Almond wisp to see if I like the color in the morning, afternoon and evening. And it's a nice warm neutral color.
Thank you for all of your amazing information! We chose Plaster of Paris for our home and it's stunning!
So happy to hear it Anne! Thanks for commenting!
As a diehard Bennie Moore fan, thank you for turning me onto the color stories line. You are correct, these colors are so complex. I would have never purchased Aura paint, but it was required for this line, and I am more than pleased with the outcome. Please do more color stories reviews!
I like 'nude' neutrals not quite pink but but yes that's how my nail polish collection would express .... Look forward to a video on 'nude neutrals'!!!
Great video!! Very entertaining while having great content. Thanks
Hey thanks Karen! I love edu-tainment lol
I love your videos ! I am still looking for my color, Ive been looking for about six months. I liked all of these colors, I would love to see several rooms of each of the colors with different lighting and some warm trim. Thats it : )

I stumbled upon your channel last April. I enjoy you so much. As for mispronunciation. That’s how we learn. You should have heard some of mine! They were beauts! Don’t let it rob you of the joy of learning.
Sorry for the late reply but this is so nice, thank you!
I dont understand why noone speaks more about Behr paint! Im happy to hear him bring them up
Thanks for this video! My favorite colors. What do you think of Snip of Tannin by Kelly Moore?
Hey James! Love your videos.
Can you give me some insight on Mountain peak white by Benjamin Moore. Looking for a warm white. Simply white is just a tad too white for me and kinda has a green cast to it in certain parts of my house. Thanks!
Exactly! I just didn't want grey.
So I chose SW Dover White and Greek Villa . So soft, so pretty. Accessible Beige was too dark for me.
Accessible beige is one of the darker neutrals, that's for sure!
I've been avoiding looking at those CSP colors because paint changes color so much anyway in my space I'm afraid of the "colors that constantly change color" whole *thing*. However I gotta be honest, the colors are absolutely gorgeous. They really look like they have seven colors mixed in. They just have so much depth, even in the lighter shades. And somehow they're all colors I feel like I've never seen before. Oh, and they all go together. They are gorgeous. Head's up I've been reading that they are hard to paint with because the paint closes up really fast for one thing. It looks on the swatches like it would be thick as molasses. But this paint is spectacular and I guess BM wouldn't come out with a new product otherwise.
The depth in Plaster of Paris is great; it looks almost greenish on my monitor/to my eye. It’d pick up the colours in mid-tone warm wood really well, and work well in an eco-boho room.
Ps: Please don’t feel insecure! We appreciate you sharing your expertise with us. Anyone who takes issue with pronunciation clearly hasn’t had their morning Swiss Coffee yet ;)
Yesssss! We need more Swiss Coffee in our lives! haha
I have SW Kilim Beige in my hallway which buts up to an entryway that’s faux painted grey-green (Behr London Fog and Thyme). It is a little dark, but The colors look good together. I’m stuck wondering what to paint the rest of my open concept house. There are no walls between my kitchen, dining and Living room. I use lots of red and green accents in these areas and my kitchen has light grey countertops. I have a medium toned wood trim throughout my home. Would plaster of Paris work or should I use SW Accessible beige?
What would be a lighter version of accessible beige? That is grey/ beige and easy to work with?
I used warm marshmallow by behr in my living room, which is a east facing. It looks similar to stucco tan when the light is shining in. I love it!
Hello! What off white paint colors or neutrals do you recommend for honey oak wood floors?
My entire home is painted in Accessible Beige and I love it. I have a lot of windows so it’s very lighted.
SW Agreeable Gray is a perfect blank canvas color.
Great video! I am curious, what do you make of Jotun's Soft Skin?
Thanks for fine pronunciations, paint facts and ideas 🤗
Hi Can I use the Benjamin Moore Swiss coffee on my interior trims and doors as well? If not what would you recommend for the doors?
I got warm oak hardwood floors with almost amber color and taupe carpet with some purple/pink-ish undertones. What warm white paint should I pick for walls? Sorry, I'm desperate at this point... 😱
Should I consider SATIN FINISH FOR MY WALLS? Thanks again
James, thank you for your content. I want your advice despite the fact that you can't see my home lol. I have mid-dark tone wood and have watched enough of your videos to narrow it down to three colors. They are Swiss coffee by behr, accessible beige, and plaster of Paris. Which do you think I should lean towards?
Haha! Can't see your home but I can say that Plaster of Paris kind of splits the difference between the other two so I might go with that. Swiss coffee will read more white and Accessible Beige is a mid tone if that makes a difference.
It sounds good ... But I'm wondering if it would be same in the UK? Light 🚨 isn't so bright 🌞 over here?
Love Swiss Coffee! Also, love PPG Sugar Soap. Pittsburgh girl, so gotta represent.
Isn't it pronounced Piks-burks? Or is that not accurate? haha
@@thepaintpeople haha yes! We Steel City Yinzers make up our own pronunciations and words. It’s a whole thing 😆
Thank you, first time I ever saw any mention of PPG paints. Here in the Caribbean I believe that PPG paints hold up better than SW. i loved Benjamin Moore but PPG wins out for me. Would love for the Paint People to do a video on PPG exterior whites and accents.
@@TriniMonstera I’m not jealous at all that you’re in the Caribbean. 🌴 I agree about the video idea! PPG paint rocks!
@@LadyArseling lol, don’t be! Apart from the weather we have our own set of problems.
James! GREAT video!! 👍🏼😍 We loved Plaster of Paris and Accessible Beige and they were in our final 5 choices. We ultimately decided on BM Natural Cream (we think 😫). We are also going with BM White Dove on the trim, ceiling, doors and kitchen and bathroom cabinets and Kendall Charcoal on the mud room cabinets. Did we “choose wisely”? 😉 I can’t tell you how much your videos have helped us. Thank you so much!!! 👏🏼💕👏🏼
Sounds beautiful!
@@thepaintpeople I really value your opinion!!! Thank you!! ❤️👍🏼😍
The last 3 plaster of paris, accessable beige, James White
I am wondering if it is OK to paint all ceiling, wall and baseboard with Swiss Coffee? This is for our rental and like to save money:-)
Interior designer / Benjamin Moore employee here!
When looking at our colors you need to know that the CSP Collection is an AURA Exclusive paint color. Meaning, you can only use our AURA Paint products for your project with a CSP-coded color. Aura is are most costly yet highest quality paint we have here in the store. If you don’t care about price and want the best quality for your home CSP Colors are so beautiful and definitely worth it! .. If you’re very much In love with a CSP color but don’t want paint that is too expensive; most Benjamin Moore stores have an interior designer working inside that can certainly help you find a color that matches the one you want in any other of our color collections :)
Great video! Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks for that info!
Aura is the top of the line but too expensive. I bought 12 years ago the CALIENTE color and it is beautiful, still today the painting is impeccable so If you want to have an accent for many years, Aura is worthy.
James:
That P for Paint People? 😁
GO CUBS - GO!!!!!!!!!
Green-eige.. interesting 😊
I think I'm on your 7th video. Great vids. Just as we finished painting our home in California Repose Gray, which we love compared to a something rain from Bear that we hated for its purple and blue undertones. Just bought a home in Texas and we want something new but not yellow or beige that it has now....
strykeback1// I certainly hope you see this. Are you saying you painted the exterior Repose Gray and loved it? I'm trying hard to find a great exterior color. As you can see I live in Texas too....!!!
@@Donna-vh5ym haha no no we painted the entire interior repose gray. I would go with a deeper darker gray against that blue Texas sky. Finally get to see it and our house for the first time in 2 weeks
@@strykeback1 // that's wonderful, and welcome. So glad you're (or I'll say y'all) "gotta get use to our slang"..lol y'all are Texans now. May I ask what color you went with the exterior for you're Texas home?. This is so hard. I always use Sherwin-Williams, but the exterior is killing me. The interior is always easy because if I don't like it I can just change it myself, but the exterior it's going to cost... Well you would know... $$$$$ and I don't want to mess this up. Any suggestions?? I'm literally obsessed going through colors everyday. And I'm definitely going with grey. But which one.!!! Going back and forth with Mindful grey and ? 😳 IDKNOW!!! Ugh. Thank you for responding, and again...welcome to Texas.
Edit: you'll see it in 2 weeks. Yaay..Keep me updated.
@@Donna-vh5ym l used Dorian and repose gray in my home and lone it!
Thanks for the video. Planning on Swiss Coffee BM for my main color. Any ideas for trim?
I love your Charisma! 🤩
Thank you! You might be better off going Chantilly Lace for your trim, if you wanted there to be a noticeable difference!
@Kristen thanks for asking this question. I’m wondering the same thing. I want a difference between my walls and trim. I saw Studio McGhee used BM Swiss Coffee as whole house color , but at 75% and I’m in love with it!
I’ve been working in paint for 3 years and I was wondering your thoughts on Benjamin Moore’s Luxe? It’s my personal favourite paint colour.
Ooooooo..... I like it.
Hi i like how you explan white paints color.what white paint would you please recommend . for dark brown all most looks black. Awsome vido love them aprechate you fan C M
Oxford white is one of my Favorites. For brown, have you looked at Benjamin Moore Bucktrout Brown? Or Sherwin Williams Caviar?
I'm trying to do an all over one size fits all but my kitch is very bright (72"h 82"w) E window, Lv/Dn combo 2 72"h 36"w E windows but large trees do not allow light. I'm getting a headache w/paint colors.
What's challenging you about the process?
Please decode SW 7011 Natural Choice :)
Would you mind a quick paint recommendation? My house has Valspar Swiss Coffee on all the trim work. I just painted a BM Hale Navy accent wall in my living room, and I want another timeless color on the adjacent walls. What should I use? Brand doesn't matter.
Possibly notable... My kitchen opens to my living room. My plan in there is to paint the lower cabinets Hale Navy and the upper cabinets V's Swiss Coffee. I have white solid surface counter tops that have silver flecks. Eventually I'll get white quartz.
I just did my bathroom in Hale Navy and Swiss Coffee! Looks beautiful! I’m very happy.
My vote is use more Swiss coffee! Or a gray-green!
@@LadyArseling That sounds lovely!
Behr Campfire Ash. Hint if grey with green undertones. Beautiful on my walls. Brighten with our smack in the face
Very nice colors ...can you help me with a color I choose for my bedroom...its MOON DROP 0026...I find it here in greece from VITEX BRAND...not a famous one ...ty very much...greetings from Athens
🎨
Would you please advise on which colours would be compatible with dark woods? Thanks
Hi Ajisen, we recently did a video about paint colors that go with dark woods. Did you check it out by any chance?
Thanks for your reply. 😊 I have watched.
Many of the Oriental woods like Rosewood are a specific dark wood,
The undertone is red and not yellow or ashy.
I was worried the colour choices might not be applicable. Thanks again.
What brand is CSP paint and where do I get it?
Hello, I have cherry cabinets, I was thinking about painting Edgecomb gray or Agreeable gray, what would you recommend? Thank you.
Both are great choices with undertones that will coordinate with the cherry cabinets. Depends on how dark the cabinets are and of course, your personal taste.
I am painting my whole house and my kitchen cabinets are Navajo white by BM or a good match at least. What color should I paint the walls adjacent to my cabinets? I have a black countertop and brick backsplash. Thank you!!!!
Hi Alice, what hues are you leaning towards? White, Gray, jewel tones? What color are your trims?
@@thepaintpeople white. Was wondering which white goes best with Navajo white. The house is open concept. Wish I could send a picture.
Behr and Benjamin Moore and valspar swiss coffee are slightly different. I like Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee better. Behr looks yellowish in certain lighting. To me it does anyway
My living room is paneled 1/3 of the way up. I want to paint the paneling and the wall, should they be the same color? Green is my favorite color. My living room faces east and has a four panel large window.
My sister uses BM devon cream with simply white trim In multiple rooms and two houses
She likes what she likes!
I just did the same in my new dark living room. It has a cathedral ceiling which was dark wood. So was all the trim. I thought it needed a skylight but painting most of the trim white and the walls an ceiling Devon Cream did the trick
You've mentioned all questions are welcome so here is one for you. My guest bedroom is small but has a high ceiling of 12', one small window with an overhang and gets very little natural light. I love green but have not found one I love yet. Can you you help please?
Get a white with green undertones. Use green for the trim. The answer is in the video: F&B James White 2010.
Cabbage White LRV 88 - so bright n pretty
sounds like a perfect room to just go dark in and just go all the way. I would love to have a small off the beaten path room to do that in. And such fun for guests. Urbane Bronze is literally a knock out, There are beautiful rich "clay" colors that are deep and new. Of course that Aegean Teal is amazing. And there are really saturated greens of all stripes. The greens with yellow are a bit out of fashion but so what. Greens with blue and grey in the background are wonderful. If it were my room I would even do the high ceiling dark and put beautiful lighting in and candles . . .my fantasy, your room. Good luck.
@@garypuckettmuse which company makes the Urbane Bronze? I think going all in is the way to go. I've been looking at the BM Aegean Teal but would prefer less blu more green. Thanks for your suggestions
@@squalter.kaufmann Thanks for your suggestion. My screen shows a yellow undertone but I'm wondering if it is more of off white with a hint of green?
YAY!! No GREY!! Thank you!!
lol
When are you doing the bolder colors?
Bold 'all over the house colors'? Now there's an idea. haha
Beginning 01:11
James I cant decide what colors to paint my house inside and out. you want to come make a video about painting my house ? Its a smooth stucco 1929 Spanish house. Orange county Ca.
Haha! Haven't done many roads trips but maybe I will one day!
Do you have a video about LRV. I’m not sure how to read those numbers
In general, the lower the LRV, the darker the color, but there is a video about LRV. ruclips.net/video/Dl-WqfLZm9k/видео.html
What did you end up painting the fireplace?
Chimichurri!
Can you use plaster of Paris for a small bathroom with no natural light
Hi Joe, It's a lovely choice but, because it contains so many tints, it will render differently in every space, so test it out if you're unsure.
@@thepaintpeople thank you also I was thinking plaster of Paris or Swiss coffee for the whole house I have a lot of warm furniture and dark woods
Would love to hear your favorite green-eige colors.
Oof... What a GREAT idea
Yeah! I'd like to see that too
Any thoughts on valspar light raffia?
Hey Hey, it's got a lovely warmth. Good all over color, looks great with woods.
@@thepaintpeople thanks! You guys are the BEST! ❤️
Can you review behr and valspar colors? Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore paints are extremely too high priced. $80 is better used on groceries. On sale it is $40 which is still too high.
Behr and Valspar can be matched to SW and BM colors.
It's an investment for your home. Quality paint is worth the money.
👍💟👍💖🙏💝👍
which is the color of the tumbnail? thank you
Farrow and Ball James White! ;)
@@thepaintpeople thank you!
Did I miss the part where you show what color was used on the walls in the thumbnail? 😞
Don't yap,yap,yap... present!! Presentation speaks for itself Brother.Thanks.
But my yaps are my best feature!
The most exciting beige…😂
I pronounce it jou-mese white
LMAO
I prefer much more depth and richness. Neutral does not have to be gray, white or beige! ALL colors have neutrals.
That's a good point Teresa. It is subjective. It's more about colors that don't compete with the rest of your palette. Some people consider some jewel tones neutral, or if your my sister....she considers plaid neutral lol.
Thank you for the info. Lose the weird background music.
You'd rather just hear my beautiful voice?
@@thepaintpeople Yes! I’m glad you understand. Haha.
Agree with no background music
The music, for me, distracts away from what you are saying. Love your videos!
I'm so over these neutrals. Would you ever give us actual colour for us eclectic maximum boho. Sick of the neutral boho look that's not true boho. Give us some colour please
Some bold boho? I'll think about it. haha
That music is so awful and distracting
Need more, longer illustrious examples. Less talking.
Thanks for the feedback!
Sorry, James, these colors are all BORING!
Yeah, they're not for you! Haha but maybe someone looking for a quick fix. 🤗
@@thepaintpeople Hahaha ... I admit it! I love Color! Pink, blue , orange, yellow- just not bland... lol
Well when you’re not a great interior decorator of course they’re boring lol
I agree but i am with the people that have very deep and colorful walls in their house
