Zoro resembling a Asura is Oda's way representing the Straw hats' defiance against the World Government who see themselves as Gods. The Asuras in myth defies the Gods and battle the Gods for thousands of years. Luffy's rubber fruit is immune to lightning which in many religion is Divine punishment which also links to Link's fearlessness and rebellious nature to defy the World Government.

Also fire is considered in many mythology as evil or against the god therefore this also connects sanji
And monkey could be a reference to wukong, who went against the gods, just like puffy and dragon

...honestly, I want to say you're wrong, but... you pretty much hit the nail on the head.
I think asura, red hawk, and diable jambe are manifestations of a certain persons soul or will. Similar to how haki works, but not haki. In the One Piece world you can will something into actually existing if you're in touch with your soul.

This makes the most sense. In the One Piece world, things like "the power of art" "fortune telling" "king punch", all those things that dont fall under haki or devilfruit powers.

Is it just me or is it weird that Zoro doesn't bow to any god or kami yet Oda throws in alot of demonic imagery on zoro
I put that in their at one point but edited it out because i didn't phrase it the right way. Zoro said in the Skypeia arc that he doesn't believe in God. However, Buddhist teachings don't really have a God and Buddhism itself isn't really a religion (even though i do call it that at points in the video). So it is still possible for Zoro to be spiritual without believing in a monotheistic God.

I believe Ryoma is Zoro's ancestor. In the oneshot with Ryoma, Ryoma looks like a black haired Zoro.
If a devil fruits "soul" can be awakened for tremendous power, then why can't people awaken their own soul for immense power? When living things are backed into a corner they find strength within themselves to break physical limitations.

I much more prefer Asura and Diablo Jambe having literally having nothing to do with Haki. It gives whole new ideas to what one can do without having to know of Haki or know how to use it, which in turn makes the character's own powers unique. I kinda dislike the idea of Haki being needed to do this awesome stuff, as it makes it so you NEED Haki if want to be powerful in combat or if you want to do anything cool. Its kinda like being Super Sayian in DBZ or being a God in Super, it gets to the point where you NEED to be one of them if you wanted to be of use in the arc. I heavily dislike forcing character to go certain paths because a new power was introduced, and much prefer characters walking their own path with their powers, not relying on one or a few abilities that everyone now must have if they want to be prevalent in the story.

Caleb Kopp But if you wanted to be in the new world. You Need Haki. There really is no way around it. All haki is the manifestation of the characters spirit. There are 3 generic haki techniques. I'd say zoro and sanji's haki techniques are special because they manifest their spirit in other ways than the established ways. It doesn't railroad them in a path by any means.

How are you meant to hurt logia's as we all ready now you can't hurt them unless they meet their natural enemy aka rubber to electricity/ lightning. & Your most likely not gonna get them to fall into water & sea prism stones are very rare & are hard to manufacture them into bullets hence why they've only been shown in bullet form in movies.
Caleb Kopp I get what you're saying but you really do need Haki if you wanna show you are something in the New World. I don't think you can have the titel of a Yonko if you can't even use Haki.
You can't really compare Super Saiyans with Haki, not everyone can be a Super Saiyan but in One Piece literally everyone can learn technically learn how to use Haki.
And don't be like that, look at Nami & co. They don't know Haki but Nami proved to be more useful in the last Chapter than Luffy & Sanji - who can control their Haki.
But yes, all in all it's true. You should be able to use Haki when you want to sail The New World.

Since sanjis mother drank that thing that ensured her children had emotions, what if (since she had 4 kids in her whome) she drank enough for her 4 kids to all have emotions, but instead, sanji absorbed all of it and since the dosage was meant to be shared between 4 children. So if 1 dosage would be enough to revert 1 child, sanji absorbing x4 the dosage would surely have some effects on him as a person, so he would be 4x as emotional as normal people, which would explain why he takes pervyness to a whole new level, and why he and zoro fight very easily, or why when thinking about his two year time skio training, he really loses it.
Also, this could lead to the awakening of his exoskeleton...
Since sanji was extremely emotional, what if unlike his brothers (who needed physical mentoring,) sanji needed emotional mentoring to be his best. We know that while he wad being raised by the vinsmoke, a family of science and genius, sanji did not improve in fighting at all, however, spending time with his mentor(and father figure) zeff really boosted his fighting abilities. And the 8 or so months that he spent with the straw hats developed him faster than anything zeff or judge and the vinsmokes had managed to do.
This would also explain why sanji can set himself on fire, since he is extremely emotional, fire becomes his embodiment of rage. As to where he summons it from, lets just say its from his genetic manipulation which lays dorment (needed emotional mentoring to unlock). Also, the last thing is the future of sanjis powers, besides the awaking of the abilities his genetic manipulation would grant him, i think the emotional aspect could play a role, for example...
If sanjis embodiment of rage is fire... Why couldnt his embodiment of his love for someone awaken a holy ability like a white light aura or something.
This would make perfect sense since sanji is a chivalrous guy, the knight in shining (white) armor if you please.
Wouldnt this be sick, i mean, he would be the first character in the strawhats that has been pushed to becoming better after the timeskip. And doing when he faces of against big mums forces would be the most amazing thing and woukd probably be the most ideal time😇.

The best description I've seen of Zoro and Sanji having these abilities is they are manifesting their fighting spirit. Literally bringing their bloodlust they're pouring out into a physical effect.

The link I see asura have with haki is that when rayleigh was explaining haki, he used the term intimidation. Asura is all about that intimidation. You don't look at it and think it's cute, it's truly there for you to get scared

Agreed. Thought I don't think it's so much overkill. Zoro is probably the one character (of the ones who have gotten intimate fights) who hasn't been pushed to their limits.
Zoro has technically had an opponent in every arc he appeared in except Zou and all of them were jokes. Hody was one shotted. He basically scared Monet into defeating herself. And Pica essentially ran the entire fight until he was forced to confront Zoro head on ---- and he was one shotted.
Something I note when Tekking talk about abilities and character powers in the OP universe just how much Oda has been staving off serious one on one fights with the Straw Hats vs. the villain crews really hard.
The whole Kuina in Wano thing you said made me think. What if there are like seven more women in wano that look like Kuina and they're part of like a family of Samurai and like, Tashigi is part of that, making a total of nine and they're all like super surprised Kuina is dead, who was maybe the main family daughter and potentially strongest. I dunno, I think that has a lot of potential for Zoro development and more Tashigi involvement.

Something me and my wife have noticed going through one piece is, each type of life form has an element. So the Zou have control of electricity, Humans have control of fire, Fish men have control of water, and brook is currently the only example but the undead have control of ice. Maybe look into it.

I think Sanji's Vinsmoke epithet would've been Blazing Yellow because fire might have been the thing he was infused with. Ichiji's Sparking Red is misleading. A spark could be a flame, but it could also be a spark of electricity. Ichiji's power I think has something to do with ignition and explosions kinda like Ideo from Dressrosa and not really fire.

This discussions about one piece are d best.I've never seen any1 covering up the discussion in a well summed up and an entertaining way and dat too with a good presentation.Jus one thng though he should try shooting the videos in a studio or something coz that bed behind him is like preety distracting or he should like try filming it in a different angle.
Zorro always fights with a handicap, even his most even fight with ryuma he only had two swords. The only fight he went in fully rested at full power was with Mihawk. Mihawk fought with a handicap using a small knife. I'm starting to see Zorro takes after his Idol.

Maybe cursed swords in one piece work kinda like devil fruits? Store a devil/demon inside that affects the user? If thats the case then Cavendish may have a hyper speed devil, and mihawk maybe have a strength/booster devil? Zoro could have the ultimate devil Asura, which makes him unique among cursed swords. I actually feel like Zoro has either grown out of Asura (his greatest move when weaker), or it may be overkill. But I feel like both are possibilities.

It is really weird to me how people try to make haki the go too answer. Haki isn't Nen for Christ sakes, it has 3 very specific and defined branches and neither burning legs or having robin's gimmick is a part of that

What if Zoro's sword was the key to Asura and he didn't even know it. Yet. And maybe he doesn't use Asura after the timeskip because he has understood and mastered the curse of the sword. Like, because the cursed sword found it's true match to unleash its power of curse. And what if Sanji was the actual intended outcome of the experiments, being the strongest of the 5 siblings but it needed time to manifest... Hmm... Nah that'll be too simple. I loved the diable jambe vid, my thoughts on it were that of a should have included a few panels, in between sanji looking mad and him spinning, where he was asking usopp to weave metal fibers into his pants. usopp would ask why and there would be that classic sanji smiling face where he's like, metal retains heat better of course! then cut back to him spinning. it would make so much more sense, though now if he can kick the air fast enough to fly, on sure he can vibrate his leg fast enough to create fire

Conquerer's haki defined by the one piece wiki is "This type of Haki allows the user to exert their willpower over others." and in the fight of zoro vs haku, haku thinks that zoro's fighting spirit is allowing him to appear as a 3 headed 6 armed demon. Maybe his fighting spirit, the asura, is exerted on to haku, and the conquerer's haki is like imbuing it to make it real, similar to how arnament haki works. Also, while your theory on how sanji's diable jambe works sounds mostly sound, no character has ever been ever able to use a soul powers like brook's ice powers, without a soul connected devil fruit, and it doesn't make much sense to me on why sanji would be able to do it. So again, you could say that Sanji is exerting his fiery passion on others and imbuing it with conquerer's haki to make the fire of his passion into real fire. These abilities just seems more plausible to me with this explanation of conquerer's haki.

Luc .K CH when used against weak willed opponents are a ko move. It is CH's only ability and cannot be used against strong willed foes or those that have it anyway.
Zoro does not have CH or we would have seen it used at some point or another and neither does Sanji. If Sanji had it we would have seen it happen multiple times and Zoro doesn't have it full stop.
Zoro was introduced as a demon, a man that could walk into the worst end in a city and cause fear into everyone around him and Asuras are known as demons/demigods. It makes sense for a demon to be a Asura because he IS ONE.
Sanji is a passionate person who takes pride in his cooking both of which have a fire aspect (cooking in general requires fire and you see passionate people their eyes are on fire) and has he says "spices are from the devil" and what do both have in common, well spices are seen to set people's mouths on fire and hell (which satan resides in) is often shown to be fire as a place. Sanji attacks with his legs and the jigsaw falls into place.

Sanji learned Diable Jambe during his fight with Wanze on the train. In both the manga and anime version, there's a small scene dedicated to Sanji noticing Wanze's roller skates catch on fire from friction. It's like a split second but more than enough to piece it together
