Sanji was always the weird quagmire in OP when it came to terms about how powerful he really is. As opposed to Zorro who hellishly trains his body to super-human levels, and Luffy who primarily gets his through devil fruit abilities. Sanji was ultimately a product of Vinsmoke genetic engineering designed to be a emotionless killing machine without compassion like his sentai brethren. However its due to the fact that Sanji has such powerful emotion with his vinsmoke abilities is what possibly made him the strongest of his brothers. Which is ironic for someone who is considered a failure.
Sanji wasn't born with superhuman abilities like the other Vinsmoke children. That's why Judge disowned him.

Sanji was strong in the beginning because of his training with Zeff and the life he lived on the Baratie. Zoro had his training with his master and Kuina, Luffy had his Devil Fruit, and Sanji had Zeff. Sanji is a normal human.

Oda has answered a question a very long time ago having to do with devil fruit powers (like luffy's) not tearing burning or destroying clothing when it really should. Oda said the devil fruits affect the user's body AND whatever they wear. He said if they kept getting naked every time they fought it would be a very different kind of anime....
Hey tekking have you heard of the god haki theory where zoros god haki is represented as ashura or Shiva, sanjis is the devil satan,usopp is tengu and luffy is sun wukong. All of them have similar characteristics to their respective gods especially usopp the liar and trickster

I personally think that haki has something to do with emotions, because when luffy thinks of ace he gets kind of angry therefore he creates the fire in his red hawk, same thing with brook, his sword which can create ice can really mean his dark and cold past of his last pirate crew, and also sanji's diable janbe can be his spirit like zoro has .

There's clearly characters like Luffy, Sanji, Hannyabal and the Boa sister who can set themselves or parts of themselves on fire.
The part that was from her snake form was that the hair formed into snakes.

With Sanji its like this: All of the Vinsmoke Siblings got born without Feelings (and Passion). Their Mother tried to make them have feelings, but it didn't (I remember her eating some shit) only on Sanji. So maybe he has the combined Power of the Feelings and Passion of 5 People . Like that his brothers and Reijus feelings got transfered to him. Thats why he is so passionate and can make his feelings visible in form of the Fire in Diable Jambe. I think this would be a pretty cool explanation.

I think the reason why it's hard to tell when sanji uses armament haki because he just uses it on his legs and not his clothes and shoes unlike with luffy whose clothing exposes his body a lot more and zoro who uses it on his swords.

I've been thinking that perhaps limiting Haki to just the 3 veins may be a bit limiting, especially if 1 is limited to just a select few, meaning that practically everyone else is just gonna learn the other 2. Now I'm not saying for there to just go Full Avatar and have Benders be a thing, especially when Devil Fruits are meant to be the goodie bags of strange powers. Yet an easy thing for many could simply be that there could be a Haki type that gives some manifestations of inner soul to then take on a metaphorical representation. So someone like Sanji who is very passionate is then able to generate such flames, yet if say someone is very cold heated can generate cold air that could then chill and freeze. Yet these examples could also not be as cut and dry as this, as another passionate person may generate a stream of water as a representative of a persons passion being like the never ending rush of a raging river.
This would definitely need a great deal of thought put into it, more than the little in-depth thought time I have put into this.
As some others have said, I think Sanji's fire powers does come from the Vinesmokes Lineage factor genetic mutations, but not that alone. I think Sanji didn' t get all the enhancements, like the armored exoskeletons because of the drugs his mother took. It caused his abilities to be severely delayed, and for him to only receive a few of the powers granted by it, his Diable Jambe power, and probably some superhuman strength (how powerful his kicks are/were pre diable jambe).
I believe each power-up has pros and cons. In order for him to receive the eoskeleton, it would've had to be at the sacrifice of his emotions, as the exoskeleton makes the person more robotic, and those who have it, are basically emotionless (sans Reiju, and you notice Judge still has emotions and does get hurt by physical attacks unlike his kids). The pro is the level of durability it grants. The con is, without the emotions you can't access more powerful offensive abilities like Diable Jambe as I believe Sanji's powers unlike the Vinsmokes, are heightened through his emotions. That's how he accesses his abilities and/or unlocked them.

In pretty sure Sanji's Diable Jambe works similarly to Luffy's red hawk and Katakuri's mochi rocket (I dont remember it's actual name). But maybe summoning fire in one piece is a type of martial arts similar to the Rokushiki Techniques (The six powers). Sanji was also shown to be capable of using Skywalk so maybe Diable Jambe being some form of Martial arts isn't too much of a stretch.

I think the new martial art could be "New Kama Kempo"; no kidding, after the time skip Sanji used 2 techniques related to the Okamas, they are: Hell Memories (similar to one technique of Bon Clay/Mr.2 where he used " Memories" also) and "Poele a frie Spectrum" (or something like that) similar to Ganmen Spectrum from Ivankov where she multiplicates her face, in this case Sanji kicks so fast he seems to multiply his legs

Well I am Brazilian and I got to say it was nice to see you trying to pronounce Capoeira, thanks for remind us in that. I do a capoeira for a couple of months here, and I would like to see a little bit more combos of that marcial art in Sanji's movements.
They have a little bit of in some moves, but Capoeira (some styles) is also about connecting the moves in a harmonic way to give the opponent less room to react and must be smooth when look at it to create a distraction. But I think the main reason why he doesnt do that kind of moves is to keep him as some kind of french cook master in fight style, cuz in my opinion hes posture and the way his arms are when is on guard looks like a Savate the french boxe.

This reminds me of a throwaway lines Oro said on Drama Island when he was training without a shirt and Usopp asked him aren't you cold and he said true warrior stay warm from the Fire Within
Since the soul can effect a persons body like sanji, then what if the devil fruit actually effects your soul so your body can turn in specific things or manifest certain things. This may be the reason why you cant consume 2 devil fruits because you only have 1 soul, so altering it twice can kill you. Maybe the process to make a devil fruit requires the essence of the thing youre trying to make a devil fruit out of. When it comes to make a devil fruit out of animals it makes things harder as you have to seperate the soul (personality of the animals) from the essence . This could be why the manufactured devil fruits are imcomplete because to separate the soul from the essence is super hard to do. I also have an idea how this can synch up with how black beard has 2 devil fruits

My favourite Sanji moment is when he was on Punk Hazard and way far away Tashigi was crying because her comrades were dying and all of a sudden Sanji shows up, crossing a few kilometres in what appears to be a few seconds, and knocks Vergo through a wall. Vergo asks him how he got there so fast and he says "I heard the sound of a woman's tears falling". The funniest thing is it's not even actually a joke. That's really what happened.

The point in the manga was that Sanji didn't receive any functional (successful!!!) modifications. Retconning this would be Oda shitting all over his themes and thus bad writing.

I´m definitely on your side, about that conqueror's haki doesn´t produce fire, but i dont think that Ruffy will be the only one to get this power. For what we know conqueror's haki seems to have something to do with pure will power. Doflamingo´s will power had something todo with his past and his obsession. Boa Hancock willpower comes from the hate to the world government. Ruffy´s does come from many things, thats why its so strong, but most likely because of his friends and the will to get Pirat King. Rayleigh does have too conqueror´s Haki. And he is only the vize. So Zorro could awaken conquer haki because he want to be the best swordsman out there. Sanji has an obsession for women which gives him very much willpower. Its in my opinion very possible for Sanji and Zorro to awaken conqueror´s haki. They just need this one thing that will exceed theyer willpower in form of the haki, just like Ruffy did befor we even knew what haki was. And in my opinion we have one more charakter from the straw hats that possible can awaken it, but make up your own mind about that.^^

i got that, and im sure sanji got the willpower to awaken conquerors haki but given his character traits it will probably manifest on some kind of fire-ish thing, mabye an aura or an area burning thing

I dont remember which one but in one of the little mini interviews oda said that he doesn't like to have the clothes destroyed for pretty much everyone that's why the clothes dont burn

sarthak arora Read the chapters again, she took a drug to prevent any modification. It doesn't matter if she considered special powers a gift or not, the point is that retconning Sanjis unsuccsessful modification would be bad writing as it shits all over the present themes.
She didnt want her children to come out as EMOTIONLESS monsters. Reiju was also affected by the drugs, she has emotion but cant disobey her father, and she also has the genetic modification abilities. It makes sense that the drug worked but not completely like with Reiju, and Sanji has free will, emotion, and hes slowly getting the powers from the genetic modifications

Huh i honestly though he could use the "flames" for diable jambe from the experiments his father did to him and his siblings. Even thou we got the flash back explaining that he was the only one who didn't got affected from the experiments because of his mother and was classed as "normal" i honestly thought that maybe he just in a way activated whatever he has in his genes through his immense training and passion and retaining his humanity because of it. Each of his siblings has some kind of elemental power so I guess it could be a good explanation for diable jambe.

If an object moves at a sufficient speed an it can light on fire even underwater, an example of this is the Mantis Shrimp which does something similar to the attack Luffy used during the Fishman Arc. It makes sense he can summon fire, especially with his cook personality. I think Judge Vinsmoke fight showed it was hereditary. Judge used a few Electric Kick attacks and used his tech to improve the impact strength
