I have one quick theory...what if zunesha is the third ancient weapon,he was around 200 years before the void century and present during the thriving of the great civilization, he admitted to momo n luffy he committed a crime so haneous(being ordered to fight and destroy whatever a specific person told him to ,maybe someone of the kozuki bloodline or with similar power to theirs) and he was then ordered to walk continuously like he had no mind of his own.But fought off jacks fleet with one blow as soon as he was "told" to ..not willingly

you know i think its never really been explained. its just sort of his name sake and what people knew him for as the pirate hunter.

I always thought him putting that on and it making him stronger was stupid also the fact that he doesn’t just wear it all the time .
Zoro's design might be loosely based off El Zorro, who incidentally is a swordsman who uses a bandanna as a manner of mask.

What if advanced conquerors Haki gives you the ability to make those who are weaker than you submit to your will. Think of it like a Jedi mind trick but on a larger scale. In battle it could be used to turn your enemy’s subordinates against them for a limited amount of time.

I thought next level Conqueror's Haki was that thing Shanks did on Whitebeard's ship where it kept going continuously and started actually damaging the environment.

I think it’s only a Swordsmith with powerful armament Haki that can make black blades. If it was just reliant on a strong Haki using Swordsman then there would be hundreds of them out there.

The only thing that debunks the black blade being haki infused metal is that haki wasnt shown as being black until after the time skip which means its doubtful that oda had that thought in mind when making these blades
Stephen Alvear To be fair Oda did plan out a lot of things and foreshadowed plenty. Like Shanks using conquer’s haki in chapter one or how he showed Raleigh in Buggy’s flashback(I believe the buggy flashback was in chapter 30 something and Rayleigh was introduce chapter 300?).
Michael Davis fair but armament haki was used before time skip and it was not black. Therefore it stands to reason that he did not intend the black blades to be haki infused steel. Personally i love the idea and if i were oda i would pull a toriyama and just say “yea that sounds good” and make it canon lol let the fan base work out the inconsistencies for you lol. But i doubt that he had this particular thing planned out from the get go bc mihawk was introduced fairly early into the series back when he only expected it to last a few year. Before yonkos were even a thing. And before im sure haki was a thing in his mind.

I would also say that if these black blades were permanently haki'd Mihawk when he diced buggy into tiny pieces; buggy would have died. But he didn't lending more credence to the idea it is just black metal.

I recently picked up Haidong gumdo, it's korean swordfighting and the stance you showed is actually a defence against vertical strikes. Althougt the hand you thew forward wouldn't be protocted.

This made me remember a theorie I once had, the poneglyphs are also made with haki. The normal poneglyphs are industructible and they are sorta black / dark blueish and the road poneglyphs (which are red) might have been made with qonqueror's haki, which sorta has a red aura. And since the kozuki clan is from Wano and they made all the poneglyphs and are probably also very good blacksmiths, this makes it possible at least I think. And we know Momonosuke can hear Zou (the elephant) which MIGHT have something to do with qonqueror's haki. Just an idea I had. Btw love your videos keep em going, greetings from The Netherlands.

I don't think that Mihawk sword is black because it's always imbued with Armament Haki and if it's the case Buggy would've been dead in Marinford for sure

are we watching the same show or what?? Armament Haki is a devil fruit counter, before slicing Buggy is just the same as him slicing himself by his devil fruit ability but if you got sliced with armament Haki we will see blood believe me he will be sliced like any normal human

You don’t know how buggy’s fruit works. Within millimeters of a blade becoming near him his body chops. There is never any contact. So no buggy surviving makes sense.
Lit ness your not serious. Its still armament haki though. No matter what there should have been blood. Monet is a logia type and she even shed blood from zoros flying slash. Armament haki negates ALL fruits.

I think advanced Conqueror's haki can cause actual physical damage to stuff like how Shank's haki started to break White Beard's ship from it just leaking out a little.

Going with the thought of haki staining/dyeing the blade black. Wadō Ichimonji Becoming stained/dyed before or in a time skip after one pieces ends would be really neat since it would make the sword more famous.
i dont think its possible to permenentally endow armament because of how its invisible to anyone who doesnt use haki and the blades were black before timeskip

Mihawk looks like a Spaniard, right? His sword (can't spell its name) looks like an ornate crucifix like from Spain in the renaissance. (Obviously, my knowledge is very limited or inaccurate. Sorry.) His sword would be from a country based on Spain, correct?
his sword is actually an oversized krieg messer a type off german blade popular in the 15th century, as for his looks I always felt he was suppose too evoke what people think off as vamperic more case in point his name is Dracul Mihawk.
It looks really close to a krieg but i think it doesnt have a "knife handle" that would make it an actual kriegsmesser. the name in english means war knife or giant war knife something like that it was able to be used by the public because of the "knife handle" they made it like that so civilians could defend themselves. I was thinking that too, but doesnt the hilt have a pommel instead? Maybe not im going off of memory so i could be wrong. Also sorry for spelling if its wrong.
His sword is the size of a great sword. The cross guard, hilt, and pommel are reminiscent of a eroupean sword. The blade is curved like a kreigsmesser. So in short is sword has no name (other than yoru) and is like no other its just a sword:/

There is actually a process called black oxide coating or blackening. It's a thin layer of black rust that protects the blade from further corrosion. With this you can make any blade a black blade.
It could be that black blades are formed out of exposure to Armament haki over long periods of time. I mean with how long it might take for a blade to reach the top grade, and if the users of it were using that haki alot of the time. That energy or what have you could seep into the metal an alter how it works, and imbue it with some of the characteristics.

I compare it to the dark and shiny patina a wok develops over time with constant use and proper seasoning... Haki could potentially affect the steel at a molecular level turning it black.

ui always thought we have already seen it (at least once) on shanks when he visited whitebeard and shanks "presence" alone affected the ship and the clash between them split the clouds
so whilst normal conquerors haki affects eople and living things in general conquerors haki can actualle be used vs strong opponents to amplifie your attack (in some way...) since it can even push against walls of ships with some pressure

other possibility would be that you would have conquerors haki up permanently (and can activate it like before for a stronger pulse) also like weve seen on shanks when he visited WB

I was re-watching this as white noise, when I was thinking [and this has probably been talked about given the vastness of the net], some of the high tier/black blade swords could be forged from the same material as the poneglyphs.
Tekking yeah sake isn't like a lot of alcohol you need to drink it within 1 or 2 years if you want it at its best quality, but it'll be safe to drink for longer than that and should be refrigerated and consumed by about a month after opening.

Supershadowman64 it doesnt necessarily. Buggys Fruit is special, i always thought, how can he split his body without having wounds? His body Repairs itself before something can cause damage. Haki blades do cut him but he wont get damaged, and even canons are no match, because if buggy splits up before they shoot, he can transform into an unlimited amount of parts. Also the telekinesis coming with his fruit is weird, so I think this fruit is more than it seems.

6:34 I was thinking that perhaps an Armament Haki user who becomes a swordsmith can infuse a blade with Haki as it’s being forged (my idea is inspired by the making of Dragon Rider blades from the Eragon series). This could also be used to explain the various cursed blades; perhaps they are infused with a different kind of Haki... maybe Observation Haki to make them seek to strike their targets (and everything near the blade sometimes like when Zoro got his cursed blade).
Remember the klabautermann the spirit of merry well maybe if swords are loved enough by the swordsman it will have a spirit and since haki is spirit maybe the swordsmans haki stains it black

the way i understood it was that you can add armament hardening only to solid objects but normal armament haki can be applied to all attacks. Like Zoro cut moneys cheek while she was biting down on tashigi. Zero was a fair distance away and the cut damaged her logia form so that would have to have been a long range cut with haki

My idea is that to make a black blade you have to add haki during the forging of the blade it would still take a master blacksmith but only in that way it stays forever black. Something like Eragon dragonriders blades

Special metal, or over time haki is permanently held by the blade.
Another possibility is that haki must be imbued into the blade constantly, as it is forged. That too could be a reason there are so few.
Because you would need to have a great sword Smith as well as at least one person, probably more, with a strong ability with armament haki.
Can't wait for when Wado Ichimonji becomes a black blade.

I wonder how many people noticed the Blade Theme
I feel it's more off a smithing forge technique. Granted I like the idea of one being able to infuse ones will onto a blade. Whether it be a strong will warps the metal or over time it alters it. Sweet. But I feel Mohawk meant armament haki coating. I know like armor smithing for the black knights have it's a dark blue ish color due to a fine purging and forging.
