Both of them sounds awesome, but i'm choosing straight pipes because the flowmaster super 10 had a bit of raspy sound to it which in my opinion is not good if you want it to sound it good, so that is why i'm choosing straight pipes.
@Skip R What makes you say that? Just curious. 2 of my vehicles have the 4.7 and knock on wood no problems. I actually like them a lot. My 05 quad cab Dakota has one and it’s a nice motor for that size truck. My 00 Laredo has one too and that thing gets up and goes and it’s 22 years old.
@@jamesz8496 Do it, I have an 05 Jeep GC that’s basically straight piped (due to the muffler being completely rusted off), the 4.7 sounds great no matter what you do to it! It is kinda loud on the interstate but manageable
I have a 2000 with the 4.7. I had a Flowmaster 40 on there years ago and it sounded great…but I couldn’t hear my passengers over the drone of the exhaust. It was annoying. I replaced it with a Flowmaster 50 after the 40 rotted out. The 50 produced a similar tone but with far less interior noise. It doesn’t quite have the crack of the 40, but there is a nice deep tone and still plenty of noise…plus I can hear the guy in the back seat…haha…
I had an 03 Dakota with the 4.7 V8. I had a super 44 installed and it was really deep without being super loud. I should have never gotten rid of that truck.
@@CactusJack252 I had a '04 that I bought in 2010. It didn't run but after some work in a couple hundred dollars it turned out to be a pretty good truck. Sold it 2 years later and regretted it myself.
In my opinion, you can disagree, I personally don't think you will like the 5.9 since it bring more hemi sound than dakota v8 sound. Unless u love hemi, then ignore me😂
I own a 2001 and it’s my baby and I have a whole mod list I want to do I am 16 am I am dreaming but my plan is to make it a street beast I was wondering the 4.7 a good engine
Personally I think the 4.7 is a great engine!! I’ve got a 2000 and I’ve been driving it since I was 16 too and those engines are beasts and you can’t kill ‘em as far as I’m concerned!! Crashed it 4 times and it hasn’t died yet 😂

Straight pipes what I got and I love it
Both sound awesome! Hard to choose but I'm a Flowmaster fan
Damn the one had almost 300k miles and still running strong. Good trucks if you maintain them properly.
I put a race venom on my Dakota with the 4.7L, 2002. These also sound amazing. I also did straight pipe after I got my exhaust manifold leak fixed
I'm not a dodge fan by any means but those 4.7s sound damn good. They sound like a big block
The 5.2 sounds even more like a big block. And nearly bulletproof too

I have a 2003 4.7 I bought about a year ago and even stock when I rev it it has a sick rumble thinking of cutting mufflers off

I've got a 06 1500 with straights no cats and 6 inch tips... It registered 130 decibels
Jesus who does your welding, Stevie Wonder?
Got a super 10 on my 97 dakota the neighborhood hates it when I leave for work at 3:30am 😆

Watched this video after doing mine, pretty much the same exact truck and I did just about the same setup as crazy as it is with the muffler
THOSE leaf Springs are going to hit the pipes at full extension guaranteed. Durango and Dakota Leafs have a hell of travel stock on rear springs...
The 4.7 needed the Super 10 to kill the rasp but both set ups have a great tone to them.

Man that’s great 😀 I wanna put this engine in my dodge grand caravan
🤣🤣 Dual-single-dual??
F THAT!!
DUUUUAALLSS!!
Flow-master it’s kind of the same symphony all! And it sounds good! Instead straight pipe it’s the natural engine sound. In my opinion
Those catalytic converters are muffling more than the actual muffler
Awsome video
Both sound about the same but something about the super 10 that compliments.
Both sound great!
For the straight pipe, could you tell me where you got the parts from? I have an 04 dak 3.7l v6 and I want a good exhaust system that makes it roar.
I’d buy that truck just for the sound.
We just blew the engine in mine it’s built for mudding the Interior is completely ripped out except for the seats and it’s strait piped
You need to do a RT Dakota!

Flowmaster 👍👍
Super 10 sounds the best
Straight cuz its free...
Go catless and run a slp 1 with 2.5 pipe

No sound decibel check on the second one?
would you all recommend an x-pipe on the straight pipe set up to "mellow" it out some ???
X pipe is their to equalize exhaust scavenge
Super ten ftw
Straight pipe all the way
Please someone I’ve got the same truck should I do flowmaster or straight pipe I’m leaning towards straight
Throw a super 10 on. At least it's still a "muffler"
Mine is straight piped I would do it
300k miles on the flow master one 😭
