My first car was a 71 GTO with a "400 small block". It never fails if i post those words some "experts" will immediately post the comment that there is no such thing as a "small block" 400. All ,400 blocks to them were the same size and there was no such thing as a "big block" 400 i guess.
Im not sure what these youtube experts call a 396 or a 454.
They just dont like the words "small block" added i guess..

Well, you know it when an "expert" says "There's no such thing"!
BS, I have 2. A 509 casting and this 817 casting, both good 2 bolt main blocks that make a ton of torque! Horsepower isn't everything (but I like it).😎
      Thanks for following along!

@@martywilsonwilsonenginesho7940 Did Chevy ever use the 400 block in anything? I think the 400 was a GM block for Pontiacs. I never heard anyone say they had a 400 Chevy engine.

@seetheforest From 1970 to 1980 you could get them in pickups and big cars like the Impala or Caprice or a Wagon. 👍
When I look up parts, it is for a 1978 C30 One Ton Pickup. They also can be found in RV's.

@@martywilsonwilsonenginesho7940 ok that makes sense I just don't think I ever saw one as far as I know. Everything was a 318 or a 350.
