Ghostbusters II on Blu-ray: amzn.to/1KL2FC3 Venkman drops into Ray's Occult Books to pickup new reading material and finds Spengler and Stantz researching a problem for a friend.
I hope Ray has been able to keep his little shop open. Considering it's an independent niche bookshop though, I highly suspect Amazon has put it out of business.
There's something about bookstores like this that are so comforting. You feel like you are disconnected from the world. Hiding in a magically enchanted place, where time does not exist. That's what I get for being a child of the 80's. Everything was so much cooler.
I love the bit where Egon has a comeback to one of Peter’s jokes and Peter gets stuck because he wasn’t expecting him to do that. Egon is much funnier in this one than he was in the first.
Ladies and gentlemen, I think I found the identity of the mysterious cameo that leaves Ray's Occult right before Peter enters. It may have a very good chance to be Mr. James Spader (that years later would turn out to be one of the enemies of the Avengers, Ultron). If it isn't then the guy is exaclty how a younger Spader would be.
This was one of those scenes in the 2nd that would've been perfect to have all 4 guys and show their chemistry. I still love the movie but DAMN those flaws stand out
My favorite scene in the whole movie, funny how Ray was trying to avoid telling Venkman who him and Egone were working on the project for, which was cut out here unbelievably in this segment!
My crush on Ray has been on going for at least 35 years now (I was a weird kid). It's the puppy dog eyes and highly expressive eyebrows, mixed with the childlike enthusiasm he has for everything...
Decades later, I realize that The Disney Channel (the one you used to have to pay a premium for on your cable bill), when they aired an edited-for-prudes version of Ghostbusters II in the early 90s, they left in Egon's "epididymis" quip. Sneaky bastards...or, they, like Peter, didn't know what the hell "epididymis" meant.
Glad to see Ray still has his bookstore in Afterlife.
He even still has the red phone. LOL!
@@SimpleManGuitars1973 "We're closed."
Spoilers.
I thought they forgot Ghostbusters 2??
SPOILER ALERT
All thanks to Winston
The way Peter reacts to Egon’s “epididymis” line is just golden. I can just FEEL how Peter doesn’t know how to react to a word he doesn’t know.🤣
Well, its Part of the testicles where Sperm is LED through. Cringeworthy
Even if he knew what it meant, he wouldn't know what Egon meant.
I like to think of it as Peter at first not knowing what Egon said and then realising and then realising that Egon just bantz'd him.
I love how Dan is essentially like Ray in personality. They're both really interested in the occult and paranormal
I would so love to walk into that store and chat with Ray about paranormal phenomenons.

As time has gone on, Dan Aykroyd and Ray Stantz have become almost the same. Dan is extremely interested in the occult.
Is he really ?? 🤔
I would love to visit Ray's Occult Books and peruse the merchandise. I'd be like a kid in a candy store. (Also, the bookstore in The Craft).
I would be a regular there. This scene is just pure magic.
Awesome book store. 🤔🤔💯💯💯
0:20 "I'm looking for a love potion aererosol that I could spray on a certain Penthouse pet to obtain her total submission." Nod to the first movie.

@@danielwilliamson6180 oh yeah!
I see it now
He's still in the shop , it shows him at the end of the trailer of Afterlife. I love Ray.
I was today years old when I got that "epididymis" line. LOL
same here.
I searched up what it meant and when I saw what it meant I was like "oh my god, no.
Always the quiet ones🙂🙂
And THAT ladies and gentlemen explains Ghostbusters Afterlife
This is just Dan Aykroyd's hobby shop, isn't it?
Well as the old saying goes, "For everyone else Ghostbusters is a movie. For Dan Akroyd it was a documentary"
I didn't get it as a kid but as an adult I laughed out loud when I heard his comment. Egon had one hell of a ego
Low key Egon was a bit of a Chad
Doe… Ray… Egon!!!
Love this bookstore it's looks very great for a working place
It's a little cramped inside, not very big of a bookstore like the Other Side bookstore from the Howling but it does look good.
I hope Ray has been able to keep his little shop open. Considering it's an independent niche bookshop though, I highly suspect Amazon has put it out of business.
I'm afraid you may be right
Given how niche it is, I highly doubt you can find those books on Amazon
You kidding? Jeff Bezos would shut the shop down just so he could get his hands on Ray's books.
Kylie is running it in the comics which is pretty cool
Coming back to this comment after the new trailer, I can confirm Ray’s Occult Books is still open for business 🙂

Ah, a missed opportunity; would've loved to see Winston in this scene along with Ray, Egon and Peter, too, but alas.
Ray's Occult is located next to the Firehouse in the Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed video game.
My favorite scene in the whole movie, funny how Ray was trying to avoid telling Venkman who him and Egone were working on the project for, which was cut out here unbelievably in this segment!
In later years, Ray started focussing his efforts on selling vodka.
(no joke, look it up.)
Way to work in a clever dirty joke, Egon. Epididymis.......
Yeah, Venkman tried to make a clever dick joke, but Egon countered with a smarter balls joke that completely went over his head.😂
