- Hello welcome back to my current comfort character. Ghostbusters 2 is one of those controversial sequels (sequels are bad 👹😡) but I literally love it and it reminds me of my childhood and being deeply unsettled by the pink slime in the bathtub when I was little??? I swear that part unlocked a core memory bc I will forever associate this movie with that scene and idk why.
I like the theory that Egon started smiling more in the second one because he'd been studying emotions in his lab. He only smirks occasionally in the first one, which is off putting lol only cuz Harold was so smiley IRL

@@Slears it’s a children’s “toy”. It’s this thing made of metal that kinda resembles a spring and you’d kinda watch it,,, “slink” down the stairs? I don’t know how to really explain what it does, but it’s coiled metal, which is why it’s funny that he says he “straightened it”

I just love the scene at 3:23, to 3:25, when Ego does this finger point down with both of his hands, for Ray and Venkman to get down un the table before the pink slime explodes, God I love that. It also makes me wonder of what are you "juliet on the internet", going to do with the now released Ghostbuster Afterlife, I know it must have really struck you heart deep because of Egon, specially we both know that it is a contribution to pasted away actor Harold Ramis, my heart goes to you.

Egon was my favorite character too. I have no idea if Harold Ramis was anything like the characters he played in the films he was in, but he's someone I would've liked to have been friends with regardless.

god i loved these movies so much as a kid and still adore them. The humor, the serious moments, the drama, the ghosts and of course the greatest Egon. Even the 2009 game was amazing and its such an awesome series. Live seeing more of it, especially such quality stuff. 10/10 dude

I've always been confused on who my favorite Ghostbuster is, but after watching Afterlife and the first movie, I'm positive it's Egon. I watched Afterlife in the theaters and during the credits I bawled my eyes out, everyone was staring at me 🥲

I just wanted to say because of sudden development from Disneys 2012 "Frankenweenie", of young Victors talk with Mr. Rzykruski when he's leaving the school, this strongly connects with Egon's pure understanding of Science, of the Emotional Effects, and to those who don't understand it, like back in part 1-Walter Peck demanding to shut down Protection Grib when Egon and Venkman warned him not. From this I hoping to put a book together of mine, hopefully, I will finish it, you see I formulate connecting patterns between Sci-Fi's, of their strongest connections that seem very similar to each other.

Ghostbusters 2 is by far not the best sequel, but it still holds a place in my heart. One of my favorite details is during the scene where they catch their first two ghosts in the courtroom. It just seems like they have the method down better than when they caught slimer. And that makes sense, even if it has been 5 years they still busted plenty of ghosts back during the first movie. I would like to think hundreds. Seriously go watch the first scene where they catch slimer and then watch the scene where they catch the two ghosts in the courtroom. Yes they're both chaotic but in the second scene they do seem to be more on point in what they're doing.
Egon was always muh fave. Even the cartoon version of it.

One other great line is from the GB game. Egon says "We eat gods for breakfast"...
If you listen to the Dir commentary track Egon, Harold, was getting married while the movie was still in production so had to keep his hair.... As he's walking down the aisle Peter, Bill Murrey, says to him as he's walking past, "Your hair looks great"... haha

When I was a young kid, 5 or 6, I wanted another Ghostbuters movie with the original cast. Afterlife was decent but it didn't capture that feeling as much as the original two movies.
