A tip. I include a tiny tealight candle in a metal cup with a large pillar candle gift. Instructions I include suggest the recipient only burn the pillar candle a little then put the tealight in place to burn. That way they can enjoy the illumination without losing the photo gift.
Made candles like these a couple of years ago for Christmas gifts and they were a huge hit. No one could figure out how I did it. Merry Christmas to all. Thank you Jennifer.
An idea for next year would be some type of box or gift bags for the smaller projects, for example, these candles. I love the project. I see this for valentines day, mother's day, and birthdays.
You and Mr Crafty pants never stop amazing me! This is stunning and by far the absolute most amazing thing I've learned in the last year and a half. Thank you so much for the content!
Love watching your videos Jennifer, I am very crafty person but still have to learn a lot and your tutorials are Amazing, details shown so helpful, thanks for all your beautiful projects will reccomend to everyone
Thank you for your tutorial! It is very nicely made and informative! I would like to ask what would happen when you lit the candle. Will the tissue paper cause inflammation or other hazards. Can you use this method for smaller candles like those for baptism, etc. Thank you so much, and I hope to see your answer. Thank you in advance!
Making the candle was so exciting. I did use a hair dryer and it worked you just have to keep the blow dryer on a angle and it worked great. I can’t wait to make more and give to my family. I love your videos they have inspired me so much. I can’t stop crafting and I want to learn more. I save all your videos so I can learn thank you for being there for all of us crafters 💜
I just did this with animal print tissue paper and a pillar candle from Poundland (UK) So much fun and cant wait to make some more :) Thanks for the video Jennifer! I have literally watched every video of yours probably twice! Keep up the great work!
Amazing video, Thank you. Would Reynolds Freezer paper work for this? Or does it have to be wax paper? I'm in New Zealand, so my access to supplies is limited 😢
This one is great! I'm saving this for my daughter when she comes by, she can watch the video and make these for her friends! What a wonderful idea! Thank you so much!
What temperature do you use for your heat gun? I have one that goes from 140 degrees on Level 1 to 750 degrees. On Level 2 it goes from 140-1100 degrees. Can I use my sublimation printer or is inkjet better? Thanks!
@@JenniferMaker I did but never heard how hot you set your heat gun. I’ve actually watched it a couple of times and once before I bought candles and a heat gun. 😀 There’s several to choose from for heat guns it seems and somewhere I read 190 degrees. Maybe I need to different heat gun.
What are the inkjet print settings you did use to get the vibrant family print on tissue paper? Also, I've noticed on the tissue paper i purchased off amazon there's a slightly glossy side and other is matte,is there a side you recommend to print on?
Hi loved your video. I'm in the UK and just wondered what printers you all use. I do crafts more of a hobby and like to give as presents so wanting a printer that's adequate for that. Thank you. I will try the decorative tissue paper until I get a decent printer.
Thank you once again for sharing your wonderful videos! I am going to try making some candles for gifts, especially with photographs of grandchildren and family!
Jennifer Maker! First I want to say THANK YOU for your amazing ability and sharing. Now, were can I buy the exact same tissue paper and wax paper? I don't want to take anything for chance. Thank You.
We've experimented with this, Sharlotte, and it seems to be fine to burn them! As with any candle, though, you shouldn't light them and leave, but keep an eye on them to make sure nothing bad happens! 🥰
This is so beautiful and personal, You are such a great Teacher Love watching your videos Thanks again Jennifer for taking the time to share your talent. :)
Fantastic, I have a cricut and love your vids but always wanted to know how to decorate candles, now I know thank you so much, I am now going to start my Christmas gift list now.
Only if the vase were made of wax! You need to slightly melt the wax on the candle in order to get the image to stay! 😊 Here is a link to our blog post, where you can see that step in action! jennifermaker.com/personalized-candles/
Hi Jennifer I love your designs. I will try putting my pictures on a candle. I wish you have shown how you did the family picture removing images and color around them.
Question my tissue paper has a matte side and a shiny side - which is best? Also what settings are best on the printer? Thank you for such amazing videos and such wonderful tutorials - you NEVER disappoint.
Wonderful. Really looking forward to tomorrow's video. New technique to learn about, and expand my crafting ability. Thanks for the very informative videos, I've learned a lot watching then. And now not afraid to experiment, and ask myself "what if" .
Hi Jennifer I really enjoyed your video. I have tried melting images onto candles and they have turned out not too badly however, there is a dullness about them and I was wondering if there was any way to seal them. Thank you in advance 😊 Catherine
Yes, you can use this technique on flameless candles as well. The key is to ensure that the candle is made of actual wax. The process involves printing your image on tissue paper, wrapping it around the candle, and then using wax paper and a heat gun (or hairdryer) to melt the wax paper onto the candle, which transfers the image. Just make sure to follow the safety tips provided when using a heat gun. Happy craftin
I have not used a laser printer, I have only used an inkjet printer for this project. But, I would think that it would be possible to use a laser printer! The key is to print on to tissue paper! 🥰
If you want to use an Explore Air 2, you will need to use an SVG! That file contains the information that your Cricut needs to know in order to know where to cut! I love your videos thank you so much. Can you do a video on how to apply vinyl to a glass candle.? I tried it but when I burned the candle the vinyl started to cone off. I am probably using the wrong type of vinyl.
This looks amazing. I have a,question? So if you want to add a picture you would also print it on tissue paper? And the tissue paper melts into the candle?
That's right, Gina! You tape the tissue paper to a sheet of copy paper, print the picture on your printer, then cut around the tissue paper! You can see a little better how the process works in this blog post! 🥰 jennifermaker.com/personalized-candles/
You will be printing your photo from your computer printer on to the tissue paper, Annmarie! Tissue paper will not go through your printer, so you need to tape it to the white paper so it will feed through! Once you have it printed, then you cut very close to the photo and remove the white paper so just the tissue paper remains. This is what you place on the candle! 😍 jennifermaker.com/personalized-candles/

So nice! What is the difference between tissuepaper and napkins to use?
There are different choices in the blog post. jennifermaker.com/personalized-candles/
Can you use colored candles or only white?
I would stick to very light colors otherwise the color might show through your image🥰
hii, Mario from Malta,, nice work and thanks, so,,,can i do this with a laser printer?
Yes, you can
This is a great video. What type of printer do I need to use? Laser jet or ink jet?
Ink jet

It is fine as the candle only burns from the inside and there is a gap between it.
Is there nothing you don't know how to do? You are amazing! Thanks for sharing this with us 😊
Wow, thank you! That is so sweet. 💕
I didn’t realize how easy this would be. Now I definitely need to try it! Thanks for showing us fun and creative gifts we can make.

As long as it has a waxy surface.

Yay! I'm so glad you like them! 😊
I used a hairdryer and it works just as good . 😊
That's great!
I think these are amazing. If you use the candle. Doesn't the tissue paper catch fire? Or will it burn with the candle at the same rate?
The candles are thick and it doesn't affect the outside.
This video and all others are so helpful and great. I really appreciate you. Thank you. Can i use the hp deskjet to print?
Thank you in advance.
Yes, absolutely. Thanks for watching! 😊🌻
I just made two! Thanks, easy but I wish I had gotten a little bit bigger of candles...and the hair dryer worked just fine, didn't take long at all.
Wonderful!
Great video, Do these candles burn safely or are they for decoration only?
Both!🥰
Beautiful thanks for the video. I made my friend a memorial candle and used my blow dryer. The heat gun idea looks like it works better.
It works more efficiently but a blow dryer will do the trick. 😊

It shouldn't matter. You want to use best quality to print the photo. There are more details on the blog post. jennifermaker.com/personalized-candles/

Yes, the waxy side.
I am glad for this project. I am trying to design candles for my fireplace.

Hi Jennifer. Can you use tumbler wraps on pillar wax candles? If so, how would you attach them? I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks. Jackie
Tumbler wraps? This is the only method we used. jennifermaker.com/personalized-candles/
