Just been to the doctor today for having bad pain all over in my joints. One day is hips and toes and back, other days the pain is everywhere, somedays it goes in my wrists, elbows and shoulders etc. The doctor told me today that it must be my brain that is making up pain. This video gave me light into why my pain has increased lately. For almost a whole year I gave up chicken meat, beef and porc which I substituted it with seafood. That is for 11 months straight of seafood and alcohol. No wonder I have joints pain, the uric acid level must be through the roof. Next week I'll find out my extensive blood work results and I wonder if they check for uric acid. Thank you so much for making this video!
Thank you. I think this is the problem I've been having. I'm going to see my doctor tomorrow, so this was perfect timing. I will certainly bring this up.
I’ve had gout for 30 years, foot, all areas of the foot, ankle, knee, shoulder and hand. I’ve had kidney stones at the same time of gout. I eat super clean and my uric acid levels stay around 9 to 13 with medication, gout runs in my family.
Thank you for the video. I have been having gout and kidney stone attacks for last 16 years and i am 36. I did not count, but I probably had at least 30-40 kidney stone attacks till now. It's the worst pain. As for the gout, I can't describe how negatively it affected my life, it makes me basically passive and unwilling to walk. It used to appear only on my big toe, but nowadays I get it anywhere in my foot, knee, sometimes even lower spine, elbow. I also get headaches sometimes because of gout. I have been overweight for last 13 years, I guess it affects a lot.
Chanca Piedra extract and lots of water helps get rid of Kidney stones , liver stones , gallstones ... and any kind of calcification that shouldn't be in your body . I always rinse my mouth and brush my teeth and tongue and inside of my cheeks really well after drinking it just to play it safe because I am worried about it affecting my teeth but it is very good you can look it up but you must also consider changing your diet
Also if you have health insurance or the money there is a type of procedure that gets rid of kidney stones without them cutting into you and they use some kind of laser that breaks up the stones and flushes them out through the urethra but I can't think of what it's called but my sister had it done as she had over 14 kids and some of them were large
Yes I remember years ago in the middle of the night being in so much pain with a kidney stone that I ended on all fours on the floor just in unbearable pain
I got gout in the big toe at 33 years of age I’m slightly overweight but in healthy shape. Most painful thing I ever had. The pain only lasted about 4 days with some slight pain after 4 days. The swelling and redness took a good 2 weeks to clear up. I was able to put on socks and my shoes after 10 days. I know it was sugar that caused my gout I cut out the sugar drinks and have been drinking more water tea and milk and I haven’t had an attack for a long while now.
I'm sorry to hear about your experience with gout, but it's great to hear that you have found relief by making some changes to your diet and lifestyle! Keep up the good work!
Worst pain I’ve been through and lasted several weeks of ups and down flare ups. One day better next day horrible! I do not drink beer anymore so I guess something good came out of it and had to change my diet drastically! Thank you so much for the information.
@@applehead252 👍 agree, I also had in my big toe (like 5 times) and as we speak, in my heel now 🥲 So I took the same decision - no more drinking beers and whiskey (at least only at some occasions). Good luck to both of us 😅
I am a victim of Gout. Yes, it started years ago on my right foot great toe. I am currently suffering from with a possible attack above my right ankle where there is swelling. However, the pain is on my lower right leg at the shin above my ankle (not the joint). Is this common? I have not checked my Uric Acid level so I’m unsure if it’s a Gout attack. I’ve been taking Colchicine. I take Allopurinol daily. Should take Colchicine with Allopurinol?

I'm 39 and had my first attack at 38 and this second attack is when I figured out it was gout. My first attack I thought I had splinters in my foot and I had to walk on rollers at work with tight work boots, nobody would believe me that my feet were hurting so bad I ended up losing my job, I just couldn't take it. So important do you have people in your life that are there for you
Great video. Found while trying to research. Im 53 and was diagnosed with gout in ankle for first time today. Didn't realize was possible and didnt know water pills could contribute. Allot of learning ahead. Thank you for posting.
Can gout cause pain in both feet, calves and arms? The pain isn’t a severe as described but it definitely hurts. My uric acid is 8.2. I have been dealing with this for 4 months and haven’t gotten any treatment as I am waiting for a rheumatologist. I just feel like I have achy joints everywhere.
My left ankle has been getting swollen and painful for the last few days. While it definitely hurts quite a bit, I wasn't sure if it's gout because I wouldn't define it as the worst pain I ever experienced by a long shot. Uric acid in my blood is over twice the upper limit though, so it must be gout.
Dr. Girnita, Thanks for your video. I have had Psoriatic Arthritis for many years and have been taking Methotrexate for many years as well. I had my first gout attack 3 weeks ago at my right ankle after having dined at a seafood buffet and drinking 2 alcoholic drinks. The next morning- OUCH! I went to my PCP and he was 90% sure I had gout and prescribed Prednisone. That lessened the pain but swelling still there. My Rhuem doc routine appointment was the next week. Blood test showed my uric acid was 6 (high on the normal scale) which surprised him- he thought it would be much higher. He prescribed Colchicine. Pain is slowly abating as well as the swelling- it has been three weeks since attack. Can't wait until the gout goes away. Question- I have been reading about foods to avoid when having gout. With the medication, should I still stay away from the trigger foods?
I’m 53 and my mom and older sister have gout. I have gained 30 pounds in the last few years and my diet is higher in meat. My joints ache and my elbow is red, swollen and hot. I have a Dr appt on the 31st. Could it be gout if my pain is not a 10?
I've been dealing with pain in my feet on and off. It's in my big toe as I write this. Usually I get it on the outside of my feet when I do get these episodes and the docs tell me it's tendonitis. I don't drink alcohol but I drink soda. Lately I have not been eating meat or fast food however.
1. Is the severity of gout proportional to the amount of uric acid in the blood? 2. Can the symptoms of gout be restricted to the upper part of the big toe (around the nail area) instead of the joint below it? Thanks.
Thank you for your questions! The severity of gout can be influenced by various factors, not just the amount of uric acid in the blood. It's a complex condition that requires individualized management.
The end of my big toe and finger toe has become a bit sensitive and i can perceive a little bit of pain as well. But it is not in the joints. I dnt know what that is.

It's great that you're taking febuxostat for your tophi. It's important to monitor your uric acid levels and follow your doctor's advice for the best outcome.
Severe attack in wrist. Been so painful. I was wondering if oxylate crystals are the same or can accumulate like these crystals. I don't drink, or eat much meat. No seafood. I have increased fresh veggies and fruits since it is summer, could the fructose in the fruits cause it? I am a kidney donor and it worries me abit. Has this 8 years ago in my ankle and got passed around to 6 different doctors who didn't know exactly what it was, but have me pills and another referral. I gave up. If i knew what triggered this, i would abstain, but i honestly don't know unless fructose.
I have a question I’ve been eating seafood for years never had a problem I’m 61 years old as raised that is it in Italian family we ate and we drank now all of a sudden I wind up with gout. What a painful ordeal I was supposed to have surgery done Friday and that’s when I found out I had gout I had several flareups of this, and not realizing it was gout, I can’t even get out of bed. I put my sneakers on and try to walk around a little little bit. It hurts like hell. I was supposed to have my joint replaced in my big toe.
I'm so sorry to hear about your painful ordeal with gout. It can be really frustrating when unexpected health issues arise. I hope you're able to find some relief soon and get back to feeling better!
Hi I think I have gout in my left ankle only. It is strange I can go one day from being basically crippled and cannot put weight on that left foot at all and I cannot walk without crutches or crawling lol. But when it goes away I suddenly am back to normal and I am an athlete and I can go back to box jumping or squatting as if nothing ever happened at all. This can randomly come and go 😢
Very good thank you so much everything you said is so true. I’ve corrected it with flaxseed, , garlic tablet, and change my eating diet. still enjoying red wine. Occasional sardines for some reason since I’ve been taking the flaxseed oil tablets it seems like it’s been fighting it off drinking more water.

I had labs done and WBC count was slightly low, so the doctor send bloodwork to the lab, but doesn't think it's a problem. I don't think it's gout since there's no swelling or redness, but may just be some arthritus. I'm not sure yet, but will see what the lab results say. Otherwise, all other labs were good.
I have diabetes but I can control the glucose level last 6 months I have to take anti TB medicines and suffered Gout attack. Now TB medication finished but still suffering Gout. How it will be?
Played with a remedy over the years. I use to get gout pretty bad from the age of 25-30. Sometimes I would have back to back flare ups. I'm 35 now and have not had a flare up in 5 years. There were a few things that would trigger the flare up for me, like beer, processed foods with sugar mainly and juice (like Sunny D) while I live an active healthy lifestyle I like a cold beer from time to time. Nothing has pierced this remedy in these 5 years except this one instant where I drank some fruit juice and felt the initial sting of a flare up a few hours later and all I had to do was make one of these remedy's with a little extra ingredients added and it fried it dead in it's tracks. It's 2 teaspoons of Apple cider vinegar, two teaspoons of lemon juice, and half a teaspoon of baking soda. Mix that in a cup of water and take it 1-2 times a week and it will kill your gout for good. If you're experiencing an active flare up make it three of Apple cider Vinegar, 4 of lemon juice and one in half teaspoon of baking soda in a cup of water and it will go away in a day or two.
I eat very little.. very little of the foods that causes flare ups, and do not drink, or eat seafoods, and take several supplements that fights gout, but still get flare ups that lasts for days if not a couple weeks or even longer. I have had a couple kidney stones, one about 18 years ago (4mm), and one about 8 years ago (7mm), which had to be removed. A little to much salt and my feet swell up, to much salt and my ankles disappear. Wondering if I have kidney issues, other than just the foods I eat. Just had blood work during my last checkup, and was normal except for cholesterol a little high.
@@paythedevilwithbitcoin1162 I have noticed that what works for one, does not work for another, or trigger foods, or supplements may help one, but not another person. This is still rather new for me so still trying to figure it out. Have a great day and thanks for the advice.
I think I get this it usually is my middle toe on left foot, and I am starting to wonder if it is partially because of the niacin I have been taking daily 500mg since 2021, because it was a few month after I started to take the niacin that it occasionally started to happen where I would get burning sensation and swelling in the middle toes it radiated so unless I actually touched each of those toes i couldn't fully tell but it was also hot and swollen this has been going on for a while now, I was looking at my niacin and noticing that I need more soon so when I was looking online I stumbled on a site that mentioned one of the side effects of niacin is gout . the reason why I started using niacin is because my doc gave me statins but I get muscle pain from them so I was using niacin which I dont mind the flush I actually enjoy that niacin flush a few minutes after taking it
My hubby has gotten pain in his foot on and off over last few years. He's only 40. I think maybe he has gout, although we don't drink alcohol he is slightly overweight. Pain comes on suddenly and goes just as suddenly a few days later. Hops around like he's dying and can't stand anything touching his foot.
I believe I’m having my first flare up right now. 3 straight nights of red meat and beer and right now I feel like there’s a nail going through my foot. Incredibly painful
I was dismayed to find that Dr. Girnita's RUclips post did not address key questions about gout. The first question is why has it been found that many gout patients die prematurely, even if their gout flares are well-controlled by diet and medication. Hyperuricemia, which is an excessively high concentration of uric acid in the blood, is a necessary and causal condition for gout to occur. So the second question is what causes hyperuricemia? These two questions need to be answered in a truly informative discussion about gout and its effective treatment. The cause of most hyperuricemia and gout is the frequent prolonged episodes of lack of breathing with lack of oxygen during sleep, known as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), which is grossly underdiagnosed and is why most gout flares start during sleep. The episodes of reduced oxygen cause every cell in the body to abruptly produce excess uric acid, as well as slow its removal by reduced kidney function. This physiology leads to hyperuricemia (possibly only during sleep), and its precipitation as the urate crystals which cause a gout flare. If OSA continues for too long, it will lead to many life-threatening diseases considered to be comorbities of gout (eg. cardiovascular diseases, stroke, hypertension, kidney disease, diabetes, cancer) and premature death, which has also been found to occur in gout patients, whether or not their flares are well controlled by diet and medication. Resolving OSA early enough will greatly reduce the risk for developing these diseases, and will prevent further overnight gout flares. It's not a rheumatologist, but a sleep physician to consult to get tested for OSA, and then follow strictly the recommended procedure to resolve it. Hyperuricemia and gout are early warning alarm signals of OSA. It is a mistake to regard them as independent diseases. Usually, they are only symptoms of the systemic disease of OSA. Rheumatologists treat only the symptoms.

@@rheumatologistoncall I took 2 pills of febuxostat 40mg today. Atleast got relaxed from the pain!

Why can I convert the pain in my left toe to a pleasurable pain if I focus on it, but not my right big toe.
It's interesting how our perception can affect pain differently in various parts of our body.

Just had blood work during my last checkup, and was normal except for cholesterol a little high.
you should see a rheumatologist!
@@paythedevilwithbitcoin1162 I have noticed that what works for one, does not work for another, or trigger foods, or supplements may help one, but not another person. This is still rather new for me so still trying to figure it out. Have a great day and thanks for the advice.
I think I get this it usually is my middle toe on left foot, and I am starting to wonder if it is partially because of the niacin I have been taking daily 500mg since 2021, because it was a few month after I started to take the niacin that it occasionally started to happen where I would get burning sensation and swelling in the middle toes it radiated so unless I actually touched each of those toes i couldn't fully tell but it was also hot and swollen this has been going on for a while now, I was looking at my niacin and noticing that I need more soon so when I was looking online I stumbled on a site that mentioned one of the side effects of niacin is gout . the reason why I started using niacin is because my doc gave me statins but I get muscle pain from them so I was using niacin which I dont mind the flush I actually enjoy that niacin flush a few minutes after taking it
thank you!
Have you considered consulting a doctor about his foot pain?
People want to know more of how to treat or cure.
Yes, you have that info in my channel!!!
Uh so like I think I have gout and I have like every symptom. And my toe is like. Purple. So I don’t really know what to do. It looks like fungus
Get evaluated by a rheumatologist

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I am presenting information in a graduate and digestible manner! Interesting point of view between OSA and gout!

Thank you for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
I'm having a very bad attack at the moment. I've been in absolute pain. What I don't get it's the first time in over three years. I've really cut down on beer and lost weight in that time. Maybe it's the blood pressure meds
I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this. It must be quite challenging after three years of relief.

This can randomly come and go 😢
yes, this is how gout acts!!!I am publishing a book on gout this year!
