    Hard to believe 50% on hard court and the sole looked like that - I know mine show far more wear in far less time on hard court. Perhaps he is relatively easy on his soles or light on his feet.

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  3 года назад

      They’re more damaged in his high wear areas than can come across on a video- tough to show it like you see it with your own eyes but you can see they clearly have decrease in tread depth but yeah his foot work is pretty clean- no hardcourt sliding

    My high school daughter has one month of play on the Solution Speed FF2's and has worn down the tread completely under her right toe. Hard court high school tennis. I wonder if these Resolution 8's would wear better. She is fast and uses her speed. I have also seen her almost turn an ankle with the FF2's.

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  3 года назад +1

      The SSFF2 is not a great durability shoe on the sides, it’s also so aerodynamic that it sacrifices lateral stability in terms of sprain protection- the GR8 and the court ff2 will fare much better but some people just wear out certain areas of their shoes more than others due to foot type/ gait style

    This outsole durability is for the clay version. The hardcourt version is not durable - I blew through it in less than six months, easily. I don’t play that much either. The compound is softer than the SS ff2, and offers better traction. The SS ff2 has better durability but more squeaking and slipping.

  •  3 года назад +2

    Asics Ahar+ outsole is one of the best outsole on the market, maybe even the best one. I played in various Asics shoes in the past and I always had to change them not because of the outsole, but because of the upper. The rubber used for outsole is just amazing. And I'm talking about the the clay version, which is so impressive, you can literally wear it for 2.5 seasons and they still hold up. Asics shoes are just brilliant.

    Strictly regarding midsole durability, would you say Nike Air/Zoom Air is the most durable since it's not foam based? Most recreational athletes in many poorer countries can only afford to buy name brand shoes maybe once every couple of years. Logically, they should only buy shoes with Nike Air cushioning right, because there's no foam that would last that long?

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  3 года назад +1

      Not necessarily- the Zoom unit will last a long time but the rest of the foam around it may not, boost foam is very durable as is nike foam in the vapor cage 4's

    • @oakland2425
      @oakland2425 3 года назад +1

      @@FootDoctorZach When the Phylon around it dies after a few months, will it still have decent cushioning, considering the zoom is still there? Is that how it works?

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  3 года назад

      Nah- once they bottom that’s it

    • @oakland2425
      @oakland2425 3 года назад +1

      @@FootDoctorZach Can you explain the logic? I think maybe many people have this misconception that Nike Air last longer but you're saying once the foam around the Air bottom out, the Air won't help? Sorry for being abit dense but i'm really curious about it since I often advice my friends on what shoes to get.

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  3 года назад

      The air unit is only in one area of the shoe except the GP turbo so the rest of the foam could bottom out which means the rest of the shoe is useless

But I have lately been have really bad pain in the ball of my foot. I’m not sure if maybe it’s a support or cushion issue. Would you recommend switched to a shoe like this asics gel res 8. How would you compare the two shoes? And would you say the asics is a more comfortable/ supportive shoe for someone with foot problems? I play 5-6 times a week and am a college athlete btw. Also my friends have said this asics gel res 8 runs a little big, would you recommend going a half size down? Thanks for the help! Keep up the grind!!

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  3 года назад

      Thanks for the kind words- im not sure whos saying that the GR8 runs big but ive never had that experience with it- the SCB is a much more maximalist shoe so if youre having pain even in those its probably worth seeing a foot doc to get examined because more times than not its something going on internally not to do with the shoe except in certain circumstances with minimalist shoes

    I don't get it - I wear through a tennis shoe - even a Gel Res 8 or a nike vapor cage 4 - in 4-5 weeks. Maybe i am just an extra-bad toe-dragger. Doesn't seem like I am though; it's not like I;m out there scooting along the court, like I'm ice skating or something. ...Anyways, it make no sense to me at all that this shoe - or any shoe - could like that 2:30 after 4 months! Especially since clay tread is not meant for hardcourts. ... By the way, I believe that clay court shoes have less cushioning in the midsole than hardcourt shoes do, since playing on clay doesn't involve pounding on concrete as you run.
    At any rate, and most importantly, the Gel Res 8 is my second-favorite shoe ever, I think. I loved the Gel Res 7 (and 6; almost same thing) immensely, but I missed them less after playing in my first 8's. ... and my favorite tennis shoe of ALL all time (and it isn't even close). Drum roll ............. Nike Zoom Cage 3. Ah! Divine, sublime, out of this world shoe!
    P.S. I love your reviews. Thanks for them, and best wishes.

      Yup these were worn by someone who doesnt drag but that puts a ton of up and down pressure on his shoes so in 3 months that midsole was toast long before the tread- just goes to show how even though the tread may be good on someones shoes the inside may be failing- i have another one of these where the outsole is toast and the midsole is fine coming up

    Hey, just found out about your channel today. Can you check out the Decathlon line of tennis shoes like the Artengo TS590 or the Artengo TS990?

      I’ve heard of them- I’ll see about doing them in the summer when all the new shoe releases are over

      @@FootDoctorZach Awesome, I can't wait! I'm glad I found your channel. I just got a pair of Solematch Bounces for $35 brand new, and I can't wait to play with them on-court this weekend. Your review on them got me excited.

      @@FootDoctorZach So I got to play with the Solematch Bounce, and they play similarly to the Solecourt Boost -- they're amazing. They are a great alternative for me since the Boosts are hard to get by where I'm at now, and I don't want to deal with scalpers.

    Uhm, it looks like a clay sole to me. How much did you use them on hard courts?

      @@FootDoctorZach Aight, now I saw it, you mentioned it quickly. Ok, I get it but still wonder about the objectivity and relevance of putting a clay test shoe on a hard court for several months. It’s inevitable there will huge differences.

    Im sorry but i completely diagre with u zack
    I had clay version of these for three months and i peactice in them for about 4 hours a day cause im an itf player and the shoes is not wearable any more
    The treads of clay are completely gone on the forefoot and the upper is completely torn on each sides and each foot but i agree that these are very great shoes and i think it’s more durable than all series of nike esp vapor line and i really recommend these shoes but the durability of these shoes are quite low but these are cery very great shoes in time that they are wearable
    Tnx

      So you're playing on them 4 hrs a day at the pro level- thats going to burn through a shoe a lot faster than a middle age guy playing 4-8 hrs per week who doesn't slide on hard - also different foot types will burn different parts of the shoe out- where as he is a more muscular, heavy person, his midsole wore out in 3 months where as someone lighter and faster will wear the outsole out in the same time but not necessarily some other parts of the shoe - its a great example of how we all wear shoes out differently - i have a video on the solecourt boost after 4 months where the treads are down to the nubbs from a different player
