Wow Cory. Thanks a million for the plug. It is very much appreciated. I want you to know that you are the go to guy for Harley Benton Guitar RUclips reviews IMO. You have the most comprehensive style and because you can't play HB guitars in a shop and try them out first, your information is very important. Don't put your playing down by the way. I can only dream of having your metal chops man. Thanks again and keep up the awesome work. Excellent comparison of these two guitars btw! Cheers. PG.
Dude this is an awesome job on the review I appreciate the attention to details, I was debating on which one to get but now I think the pickup sound better on the Floyd...
oh thx! and i even think it got bad this time.my second camera died while recording. But thanks very much. will get even better quality over time, new camera gear etc.
I have the fixed model, moded with dimarzio 36th anniversary 's. Now im waiting for my new 550 desert burst, it just cleared customs yesterday. I lost my gibson lp and sg in a burglary. These are good guitars the price makes them great guitars
Hallo, very nice video and very good playing.. I'm a new guitar player and i'm between 2 guitars HB sc- Custom and HB sc-Custom P90 black. I like playing metal hard rock, western rock, jazz, blues, and basically i want an all around guitar. In your opinion which guitar should i buy? Bonus question: Do you know if in the future i want to upgrade the p90's coils with HH coils, is it possible? Thank you for your time and i would love to answer me as soon as you can! Have a great day!
Thx for your work, Cory! TMO the FR reaches a more middle balanced voice that sounds better to my ears. But as always: you can't dispute about taste ;-)
Your accent is very pleasant to listen to and I really dig your playing. According to Thomann's website pages, the Fixed model does not have Wilkinson pickups; it has the same Alnico Roswell's as the Floyd. It appears that when on the SC-550 model page (a guitar received on this channel) it reads that the Machine Heads on that model were Wilkinson's instead of Grovers as on these two models, this was mixed up with the pickup brand of these two SC Customs. So the comments that claim the Wilkinson pickups sound better mist be mistaken. Thanks for these great videos; can't wait to get the Floyd model.
thx! they still use them on the sc custom fixed bridges. Just the floyd version got rowells....could be that they change in the future completely too roswells.
I need to know what's the difference between this guitar and the new SC-CUSTOM EMG FR VBK, because that guitar is more expensive and I think has the same specs, I really need to know what's the difference, the only difference I could find was the obvious one which is the color of the golden pickups and the knobs and the other golden parts on it like the whammy and the other stuff, these are the only differences I could find, the SC-CUSTOM FR is more vintage looking on the golden colored parts, that's it, please I need to know the differences, can somebody help? Because I don't know which one to buy
@YEEZY 69 The Pickups of the Custom EMG are active Pickups which mean they have a higher output. Those Pickups are great for playing Metal, Trash Metal, Hard-Rock an so on. Passiv Pickups like for example on the SC Custom II FR have a lower Output so you can play cleaner Tones too. (Blues, Rock, ....) Your Choice needs to depend on your favorite Genre. Cheers
Great video, again! :) Btw, if I remember correctly there should be 3 numbers in the capacitor. For e.g. 473 , 47 is the actual value and 3 is the multiplier. So that should be 47 nanofarads. If there is only 2 numbers, its because its in picofarads. And then there are some capacitors who have the tolerance, bla bla bla, in letters (most of the times).
ich will den flimsigen 3 way switch austauschen ... die gitarre is gut bis auf das teil ... und nichmal in gold wie der rest ... hoffe man findet was schön solides was optisch passt ... weisst du so ein schalter komplett ohne spiel wie für elektriker aber in der größe halt ... auf ebay noch nix gefunden was mich 100%ig überzeugt
Great review as always Cory. I'm leaning toward the fixed bridge sound and scale length. I may buy one along with the CST when it comes out in blue. Holding tight until May to see if that gets listed. I don't have any guitars in my collection in matte finish, so this will make a nice first addition in that finish. Keep up the great work!
Hi cory. The Floyd version has got the push n pull control to split the hambucker to single coil ? In other review I could see that It has got but Thomann don't says anithing about him. Thanks!
Voidblade Artorias hi mate! feelwise its... sc custom-sportscar! and sc450plus - traditional lp-style guitar! (you meant the 'plus' model dont you?) the 450plus got coil split for both pickups which makes it a very versatile guitar. the sc custom is feelwise pure butter. its really hard to tell.. i wouldn't want to sell the 450plus or the custom. both great
Wow, Harley Benton copied a Les Paul copy... as an ESP player I think Harley Benton can’t be original, it’s just stupid... but well, great video my friend, keep it great like that!
Hello Cory, I have a light fretbuzz on the lower E between fret 9 and +/- 12. Can you tell me how to reduce this and also the action please? I should maybe change the strings in the same time ? Thanks dude
if its really just for the low E then you got probably a high spot on the 10-11 fret which leads to buzzing. needs to be filed down a little bit. the whole process is too long to explain here, sorry.
I was interested in hearing a demo of the Floyd, does it whammy up and down? and tuning stability, stiff tension on the bar, screw in bar, if a string breaks does it totally go out of whack? Thanks
Hi there, i wanted to buy one of this but i have come across with a bit more of money so i will be getting an ltd ec vintage but i want to upgrade it with a FR, is it possible to do that upgrade?
considering that the Floyd 1000 is 252.00 USD dollars. And the guitar is only 293.00 USD. That's 40 bucks for the guitar w.o the Floyd. I'd buy this in a heartbeat, keep the Floyd and just install Seymours.. which I do on all my guitars anyway.. stock pups are always hit and miss. Pups are not a reason to not buy a guitar.. those are easy to swap.. Floyds are expensive and hold value..
As an Owner of the normal SC-Custom, they can do metal decent. What kind tho? Dropped tunings or just like Thrash with stuff in E and Drop D? Edit: Forgot to mention that the fixed bridge has a little bit better sustain with more wood in the body
I just buy one of those fixed bridge, don't be fooled... For the price is a great guitar but the cables inside the guitar comes disastrous, very noiselessly pick ups and very poor quality finished. The versions they send to reviewed are probably better prepared models to make People buy it.
That's one of the charms of Cory's reviews. Just like he keeps saying "Läcker" or "lacquer". Halfway between German and English pronunciation. Don't change it, Cory :D

i feel a little bit stupit that i forgot to mention the 2 more frets on the floyd version :D
Buying the one with the floyd
Thanks for posting. I think that the fixed bridge (Wilkinsons) pickups have more output and sound better IMO.
It is thanks to your videos that I made the choice of a SC Custom with a clear binding and a fixed bridge! This helped me in my choice
Dude this is an awesome job on the review I appreciate the attention to details, I was debating on which one to get but now I think the pickup sound better on the Floyd...
I just ordered the Fr..i have gibson lespaul classic and studio..but i loved this HB guitar
I have the 7 strings HB
Thanx for the good review Cory. I just ordered myself a HB SC-Custom FR. I might do a Swedish review on my channel.
My SC-Custom FR VB has Roswells with coil taps - a nice surprise.
Im a bit late but how do you like it?
How did it come with coil taps?
man your video's are of high quality! You absolutely deserve more subs!

the fixed SC sounds ace! too bad they don't use those wilkinsons any more... thanks for this great comparison cory! :)

i looked into it after editing this video and these guitars should have 47nF..or "2a473j"
will add this in the future in the videos
floyd only comes with passive pick ups right ? i got the fixed bridge version
Very good review as usual Cory. Thank you !
Τhanks for the vid. Any comment about the action on the guitars??

Very good VS. review CORY, thank you!
Hi Cory, great reviews! but I saw others reviewing the floyd and their’s had def a coil split. is yours also one of the first layout?
Hey how thick does the neck feel? I like les pauls but hate how thick their necks our, the one of this model looks thin though
Welche dieser 3 Harley Bentons kannst du empfehlen? Ich kann mich nicht entscheiden. SC Custom, SC Custom Active oder die SC 1000 Progressive Line?
Good demo thank you. Thinking about buying the FB version.

It's a proper Floyd Rose 1000, so I'm guessing it will do all that just fine :)
@@PelleKuipers Not without back routing done to the body.
@@scottashe984 what do you mean? I was responding to someone who asked if the Floyd is good.

Very nice review Cory! Too bad they change the pickup's & scale length in trem version! Why??? These pickup's remind me older cheap Epiphones...
well, in exchange you're getting a 250 dollar trem..
can you do a review of the new Harley Benton ex-84?
is it possible to get a CS24T and change the bridge to a Floyd Rose?
Fixed pickups sound way better than the FR roswell ones. Damn, if only they'd offer the FR ones with Wilkinsons, they're great fucking pickups.

+drmarkreuter no problem
I have this guitar! It just says LTD on the top and ESP on the back lolol.
Haha XD
Not for the same price though
Rockin' video, bud!
If i order now, i get less yellow right? Is the guitar heavy?
+Nookly yes
If Thomman did one with silver or black hardware, now that would be a thing.
You could easily custom paint the parts yourself. 😎
Are you of Latin decent?
Do they still use the small potmeters?
+Kim's Workshop yes, they do. exactly the same
SUPER !
you play great
i like heavy guitars
hey cory würdest du mir als zweite gitarre für eher ruhige stile die sc500 wh empfehlen ?
