Very different to fire mode in Australia. Here in Oz there is a fire mode key switch (proper key switch, not something like triangle key) on the call station on the ground floor which enables/disables fire recall (to bring the elevator back to the ground floor and stop it from moving). I suspect its also hooked up to fire alarms in some buildings. Then inside the lift there is a second key switch that activates fire service where the elevator can be moved by the firefighters. Much harder for people to mess with.
Australia's fire service is very similar to the US'. We also had a Start position on the in car keyswitch which closes the doors and does the same thing as holding the door close button, though this is absent in newer installs (code change?).
Psevdonim123 the only real difference is that there is an additional switch inside the car which needs to be activated in order to enable the in-car controls(phase 2). In the UK the switch outside immediately puts it into phase 2 but if the fire alarm goes off, the lift goes into phase 1 where the lift recalls to the ground floor and goes out of service with its doors open
Saw a lift video in Japan where in emergency (probably firemen?) mode the lift can travel at high speed with its inner doors open, & once you reach your selected floor the outer door doesn't open by itself
+Beno just ordered it as lost my other one also looking at a triangle key. Also their is KONE MRL Controller keys on ebay £7+9 postage if your looking for them
Top Level tried doing this (he uploaded the video yesterday), but it failed. It must be the red key you need to turn, and soon I'll try to find a key to that, then I'll test it to see if it works.
+failsingermany I am not sure about that. This is not standard in UK for the outside switch to make it go into phase 1. Someone has set it up wrong in the logic.
