Honestly, elevators in my city never have these fails. Of course, since my parents hardly ever let me go out and ride elevators and pursue my hobby, I don’t experience these. But every time I DO ride an elevator, I never witness this. The worst thing I witnessed before was an elevator low on oil and nearly stalling, but that has since been fixed. Another concerning note was the Macy’s elevator at my local mall takes 15 SECONDS to level, not low on oil, rides smooth, but takes 3 SECONDS to level going down. In my opinion, this is why I would take American elevators over other elevators.
In Gran Canaria. I was staying in a 4 star hotel with creepy Eurolifts. The elevators are from 2002 and were beaten up, also some of them were small and some of them had a horrible smell. The lift that leads to my room was the worst one. Losing position and won’t be able to start, sudden stoppings and go to the ground floor after. Starting the lift was very loud like some kind of metal loud scrape and the elevator shaking, Won’t close its inner doors properly and indicator issues. Once it got stuck between floors. I looked through the door cracks and it started moving levelling speed. It stopped and opened its doors without anyone controlling on the panel. Then it closed and reopened its doors. There are 17 lifts and all of them are maintained badly. Only ONE of them is the best. No indicator issues, closes properly, quiet motor and rides smoothly. But the 3rd floor button is a bit broken. You have to hold and press it firmly until it lights up. Hope I can go to the hotel beside my one with amazing Schindler 5500 and dispatch call thing. On the outside of the lift is very nice. Like a teleporter and when it is night. It lights up and 11 floors.❤❤❤
You need to be specialised guy ,ore person with triangle key. Anyway even if you opened outter door it would be too dangerous beacuse it can just start moving even if door is open
Once I wanted to take the lift from a mall which was a Schindler 5500, and the lift itself was the only public lift and the mall is very populated. Once I wanted to go from P(ground floor in romanian) I pressed floor 2 (parking lot) where my BMW was parked. When the doors closed, the indicator showed for a split second that it’s going up. Then showed P again without the arrow. It did this multiple times until I decided to leave. The indicator from outside showed P, then when the doors closed, it showed M (mezzanine) and with the out of service indicator (⛔️) Then after a few days, the elevator went back into normal service.
Biggest lift fail for me was when I called it and the display said I was coming up from lg then after 15 seconds(it's average travel time) and it didnt open nor did the indicator change thankfully it came after a second call
0:30 I remember when I was younger I had been in a lift which apparently had a mind of its own, where you could press one floor and it would take you to a different floor and I remember when I was going down to the ground floor, it decided to take me to either the first or the second floor, and I had to take the stairs down (i was with my dad) i have been back there more recently, and the call buttons on the outside were replaced some point between 2014 and 2016 (i went there quite a few times between 2014 and 2016, that's how i know roughly when they were replaced, they were replaced with modern yucky ones which have been installed lower down, and the new panels have floor displays which double up as direction indicators, weirdly though the inside panel was not replaced when this was done, and also the existing floor display was reprogrammed to display "0" when on the ground floor (to match the outside floor displays), and a voice unit was added, and because the inside panel was not replaced, the ground floor button still had a "G" instead of a "0")
warning fact: if u r in the lift and u closed the doors but nobody pressed the button from outside to open and it opens back get out of the lift quickly because i got stuck last time and this was the signal ur abt to get stuck
I’m actually elevator for photographer. I know this happened so like a Schindler down in Washington DC and eventually made the door come out its place and now the door is now slamming and they replaced it with a TA Otis.
I got in a euro lift at my airport (it was glass) and it got stuck just above G and everyone ignored me i was like WT* I AM STUCK HELP ME! Then it moved back down to -5 And Reset i got out and Told security they said it was out of service
Guys I wanna tell you that the worst elevator in my city is Shindler 100 A in reliance mart in Kharadi India. It slams its doors so hardly that it keeps diverting foor 5 seconds.
Okay this is NOTHING compared to what happened to me today you see i was going up this lift that already kinda looked a bit stiffy but my idiot older brother decided to jump in it and then there was a big THUMP and then the speaker said "Service not availible" i was so scared but i just clicked the floor 1 button and it brang us there I beat the fuck out of my brother for doing that
