Pretty cool back ground guys just needs a little light .
Stay lucky stay safe Mike UK.
Try “Teo torriatte“ live in Japan.
Kristine Rose This song was actually written by Freddie Mercury prior to Queen with his band Wreckage (with whom he had the infamous mic stand breaking incident), but got reworked some by the whole group and therefore credit went to the whole band. But yes, Brian loved harsher songs with killer riffs. The live version at the Rainbow is TO DIE FOR, as they go even faster and have some sort of delay repeater on Freddie’s mic that really works with the song. That concert has them really showing their hard rock edge.
Had a fantastic weekend. Saw Greta Van Fleet last night. They were terrific. Energy bursting on stage, much like Queen had.
The best song on Sheer Heart Attack is Stone Cold Crazy. How about Seven Seas of Rhye from Queen II, or Child in Time from Deep Purple's Live 1970 version vid. Thanks!
P.S. - I usually get the feeling Alex has heard 95% of what you post. Not a criticism, merely a knowing, happy observation.
It's almost like Queen invented thrash metal. heh And yes, you really need to watch the live at the Rainbow version. It's -- hard to believe -- even better.
What queen invented thrash metal ?
Freddie--music and words--has been called ''the father of thrash metal" for this song.
Arya Vart yes queen did invent thrash metal. this song was described as “thrash” before the term was invented
Spread the word far and wide. Educate the masses.
They actually did!
Good choice! The blueprint for all thrash.
WAY ahead of its time.
Holy hell, the guitar part sounds like Jump in the Fire.
Mynameiz Maineimis It sounds more like Hit The Lights or even House Of Pain by Van Halen. The latter is almost a direct copy.
@@TheBlackQueen house of pain is better
Clnt874 Meh, I like Queen much more but Van Halen is also great.
I recomend you "Stone Cold Crazy" "Live at the Rainbow", awesome!
yasssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mary Charlotte Fresco , it’s me sis😉
Houston live is also exceptional
It's better than studio version
Cristian Roses yes!! Queen is always better live
You’ve GOTTA see this Live at the Rainbow. Freddie nails the vocals absolutely, it’s incredible how quickly he can sing live, and Brian’s guitar work is impeccable. Trust me you won’t regret it.
When people say they know Queen, I play this to say, “you don’t know Queen”. I’ve always felt that the harmony chorus is their way of being heavy, but still being cheeky; they never take themselves too seriously. Great pick, guys.
React to “I want it all”
Best guitar playing of any Queen song ever
It’s amazing!
I'm just dig "I want it all"!!!
Brian play hell of it on guitar on that song, and a sick Freddie gave it all in this amazing song from 1989
@Chris Perkins Agreed
It's obviously a case of how you want your solo's, but contradicting myself immediately, there are countless Queen songs with superior guitar playing!
Best speed/trash song? Try out 'Doing Allright' from the FIRST album 🙂
Cant go wrong with this Queen epic stage presence and Freddie Mercury vocals are the best in rock.... thanx for the reaction
1974 metal, with machine gun lyrics. This was the album that got me into Queen - you need to hear the WHOLE album! It's got rock, ragtime, anthems, classic Queen and even a lullaby!
I'd like to hear you break down White Man the way you did with '39. It's a hell of a song with a STRONG message.
The best live performance is Stone Cold Crazy Live at the Rainbow 1974. The drums and guitar are off the charts!!
Omg!! Finally!😄 isn’t it awesome? The Rainbow ‘74 version is awesomer!!😁👑 and the ‘77 Houston version is FASTERRR😄
Wing ^^^Must see performances!
@@imweakfordeaky That Houston performance is bat shit crazyyyyy!
Houston version is the best version to me.
Try my channel wing
Houston! Best version. Hands down and no contest.
If you haven't seen this live, there is a video, Live at the Rainbow, 74. It's worth taking a look at it. It's insane.
Yes, Finally!!!!!! One of the best Queen songs ever! Glad you liked it. The beginning of Thrash metal. The Rainbow and Houston live versions are even better. Soooo fast! Interesting to note that Freddie had performed this song since the late 60's but didn't feel it was "right" until they recorded it for the album. Freddie is amazing in the live versions. Drums great, guitar great, bass great. It is amazing that John Deacon could actually keep up the speed in this song.
That’s my favorite rock song from their earlier years!!! It’s epic❤️❤️
Classic heavy Queen song. The debut album came out the summer before my freshman year of high school. I heard Seven Seas of Rhye on the radio and immediately bought the album...been a huge fan ever since. My favorites are Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack and Night at the Opera. Us 70's Metalheads considered Queen a heavy metal band right along side Priest and Sabbath. But they were much more diverse. Eventually we lost interest when Freddy went disco....lol Nice to see the youth rocking to these timeless bands. Keep digging, the gold is out there for you to find.
Well said. First saw Queen at a small venue (Santa Monica Civic Auditorium) in 1974 and they rocked so hard and heavy, we thought they were heavy metal. That was when they mostly did songs from Queen II and Sheer Heart Attack. Hated to see them turn Disco and Pop, but like my girlfriend always reminds me, the disco pop was what brought them big time success.
Finally, I get to say, "I told you so." 😉 The live version blows me away because Freddie's enunciation is spot on - just as good as the recording. I love the lyric "Walking down the street, shooting people that I meet with my rubber tommy water gun". It's the first song credited to all four members of Queen though the original version was written by Freddie and his band Wreckage. It went through many transformations with the input by all four Queen members before it was ultimately recorded by them. It has been credited as a precursor to speed metal. One of my favorite Queen songs. I can't remember all the songs you've done by Queen, but I suggest listening to "It's Late," "Now I'm Here," "Liar," "My Melancholy Blues," or "Save Me."
As for the new setup, I'll miss seeing Romeo. 😢 I'd suggest using a green screen and displaying a background just to lighten things up a bit. Keep up the good work. You're not only expanding your musical tastes but learning about video production in the process. Well done.
And that's why Queen has inspired so many artists. Their special sounds, their hard rock, their soft ballades, ughhhhh Queen. The core of rock n roll bands. Inspired guns n roses, foo fighters, Metallica etc.... Hands down 😍

One of my fav Queen songs.
Hey fellas, I know you are both guitar players and obviously have a deep appreciation for the many talented guitarists, past and present. If you are not aware of him I would highly suggest you take a moment (whether here or elsewhere) to familiarize yourselves with a man by the name of Terry Kath. He was a singer/songwriter/guitarist and founding member of the band Chicago. He is one of the sadly forgotten (not by his peers) all-time guitar legends. He could play rhythm and lead and sing all at the same time. One night in the late 1960's Jimi Hendrix, who was in the audience, came up to Chicago Saxaphonist Walt Parazaider after they played a set at the Whiskey A Go Go and said to him "Walt, the horns are like one set of lungs. And your guitar player is better than me." (Edit) ...and told their manager/producer Jimmy Guercio "Jimmy, I'm pretty good man, but this cat blows me away."
Here is what I found out about the song.
Stone Cold Crazy was written by Freddie Mercury in September 1969. It was the first song that Queen performed ever about a year later on June 27, 1970. Recording for the parent album ‘Sheer Heart Attack’ began on July 7th. Stone Cold Crazy was worked on during that session I believe. The band had about 2 weeks to write material. Brian was present at the studio but he was in bed in the studio because he was terribly ill from hepatitis. He developed hepatitis from a shot administrated in early January 1974, as they were heading to Australia (Where they eventually got booed off of he stage). The shot gave Brian gangrene in his arm so they had to let Brian rest for a bit. The gangrene bothered Brian until the night of May 12 when he collapsed in the tour bus on the way to Boston. The band assumed he was exhausted and they drove to the hotel in Boston for their next day. He was carried into the apartment and he rested on the bed. He woke up the following day and he was ghastly yellow. He called the band over and one of them called a doctor over. He was diagnosed with hepatitis. The whole tour was cancelled. By Latter July, Brian gained the ability to record again but, he collapsed during a session on August 2nd. Turns out, he had a duodenal ulcer! He has it for about 10 years but the hepatitis aggravated the ulcer. He needed to go into surgery to have it removed. Once Brian got out of hospital in Late August, they finished recording the album. The track was finished in October 1974, along with the album (October 24 according to Brian May).
Fun Fact: Some pieces of Bohemian Rhapsody was recorded during the sessions.
Listen to the live at the rainbow 1974 version. It’s even better and Freddie’s voice is on point!!
Freaking adore y’all!!!!! My fave college guys. Of course I love this, since it’s Queen. I love Queen’s harmonies though. ❤️❤️
One of my favourite Queen tunes is the soft ballad 'One Year of Love'. I believe it was written by John Deacon (and featured in the movie 'Highlander') but when you filter it through what you know of Freddie's tragic life, it takes on a much more poignant meaning.
Guys I'd recommend it's late by Queen its on the news of the world album, in my opinion a brilliant song one of their greatest
Wow the raw power in this song is almost out of this world definitely my favorite Queen song for now also really diggin that shirt andy is wearing far out man! peace!
'It's Late' from News Of The World, or 'Dead On Time' from Jazz. Top tunes from the pen of Brian May.
Yes, great choices that doesn't get enough attention.
Yay! My favorite Queen song. So much fun to listen to. Can you believe Freddie started writing this in 69’ pretty progressive rock for the time period. I love your reaction😄👏🤩 Metallica felt the same way I’m sure. They loved Queen.
This is one of the most rocking songs Queen put out. Their first three albums: Queen, Queen II and Sheer Heart Attack (of which this tune was on), were the most hard rocking. Now, don't get me wrong, Queen continued to rock with songs like Tie Your Mother Down and Hammer to Fall throughout their career, but with Night at the Opera, they really started changing and experimenting with a lot of different things. I always was impressed with their unique approach, but I do remember some people feeling betrayed. Queen's weakest album Hot Space, had a couple of decent songs on it, but was really saved by Under Pressure with Bowie. My all-time favorite band...QUEEN.
The Live version on the 70s is awesome too. This is a great song!! Great head banging song.
Oh hey! Surprise Queen Monday? Just what I needed today!
"Its Late" -- the bass is very lush.
Often mentioned as thrash/ speed metal before they were invented!
I love seeing a new generation not just find this amazing band, but to be able to see their diversity and musicianship...
Great song and reaction! You should definitely check out the live version @Rainbow 1974. It rocks even more and it has some killer basswork by John. Keep on rockin'!
Now a positive comment. Yay! For Queen on a Monday. It's a great way to start the week. I'm pretty sure you guys haven't done "Bring Back Leroy Brown" yet, so I'm going to suggest that one. Or "Play the Game."
I 'AM' back already! 😛 I would suggest 'Brighton Rock' (Live Killers version) btw
Definitely watch the live version at the Rainbow! You will not be disappointed!!!!!
Wow hello boys, thank you for another Queen track. Dragon Attack live from Montreal . ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Without a doubt, My Melancholy Blues off of News of the World. It's amazing just how creative Mercury was.
This is a great track - and check out the live version (live at the Rainbow) from 1974 - it's fantastic, even better live, imo.
This is one of my favorites....(I think it is especially fun live at the Rainbow, Freddie is great, as always). The Queen catalog is so incredibly diverse. I also vote for 'Dragon Attack' live in Montreal....so good! 😀❤️🙌
Stone Cold Crazy at the Freddie tribute concert.... Tommi Ioma plays with Queen and Metallica... amazing
Thanks for the surprise Queen Monday ! The one thing about Queen is you never know what you getting except greatness! Love the new background and Andy's shirt. Have a great week! Cheers guys !!
Thanks for today’s Queen Monday!
queen brighton rock from this album is a must listen
Queen's heaviest material were from their first 3 albums (1973-74). Once 'Hot Space' came out in 1982, they lost me and I checked out.
Thanks for surprising us with Queen on a Monday & thereby vastly improving Monday!
I agree with everyone else saying you've got to do the live version of this (Rainbow '74).
I'm glad you did the studio version, it's so crisp. But the Rainbow version is just so great to see them delivering the goods! It's not an either/or with Queen & songs like this one, it's BOTH are equally fantastic & complement each other.
I like the new setup, just maybe once in a while have kitty make a cameo appearance. Love you guys!💙
The harmonizing is the icing on the cake
Thanks for Queen on Monday! Stone Cold Crazy was a great thrash metal song. You should do this song Live at the Rainbow 1974 or Houston 1977 because it is electrifying live. They actually speed it up and Freddie is singing so quickly I don't know how he gets the words out! Brian said in an interview that the song started out much slower but he suggested they speed it up to match Freddie's high energy level. I'm not a fan of the dark background. I miss Romeo! For Live Wednesdays you need to do this song live and the medley at Live at the Rainbow which is In the Lap of the Gods/Killer Queen/March of the Black Queen/Bring Back that Leroy Brown. Cheers!
I love watching your faces especially when you aren’t expecting what you think you were! Keep up the good work Chaps.
James Hetfield gave his version of this at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. First half was the bands playing their own songs. Second half they were joined by Queen and they rocked. 🤘🏻
The live version at the Rainbow is much better. So powerful.
Hey guys, I don't know how I missed this one! I just love Stone Cold Crazy. It almost gets a 10 from me. In fact, I will, I'm giving it a 10. I think it's perfect. I like the harmonies on Stone Cold Crazy. They're not weak, in my view, it's like the 3 of them yelling the line. It's such a tight performance. Like others I really, really, really recommend that you watch a live performance of it. It's just electric. The way Freddie fires off those lyrics like automatic gunfire. Woah!
Best Queen song.
Always loved this song. Great reaction.
So nice to see you guys doing Queen again, and right out of the gate you give us one of Queen's greatest!! So sad you didn't do the live version which I love because of the passion! I'd love to see you react to live Queen and live Metallica for this song. You get to see how far sound systems and extras have come since the early 70s. But as usual, Queen did it first because they were never locked into one genre of music. Thanks guys! Oh, and I love the new look, but I wish you had some background lights. I enjoyed watching the music journey you are on!!
Watch the film clip..... again fabulous ♥️🇦🇺
Please react to the "Live at The Rainbow" version.
Glad you liked it, you have to see them do it live in the rainbow room...insane!
About time gentlemen. And what a pleasant Monday morning surprise! Check out the '74 live version at the Rainbow. Till next time. Stay thirsty my friends.
As for future Queen requests. Well... Already submitted my detailed list to you guys awhile ago. My Melancholy Blues would be a nice contrast to Stone Cold though. White Man cause no one else is doing it. It's Late because it is such an amazing song. Blah Blah Blah!
Finally!!! Thank you!! Check out the Queen live version at the Rainbow then the live Metallica back to back in one video. Short song so it won't take long but you will also see how similar they are. I'd love to know your thoughts on both.
You two have listened to lots of Queen now... do yourself a favor and listen to the full albums... react to them (or one side at a time) if you want... remember albums used to have 2 sides... each side had a construction and purpose... you will understand and love Queen even more if you do this... If you insist on listening to Queen one song at a time (which is better than not listening to Queen at all) I suggest Doing All Right from Queen I. Certainly one of my favorite Freddie vocals... plus lots more for you both to love!
Great point! I completely agree with you. I think Queen is best heard live, then best heard album by album. I never liked The Invisible Man until I heard it in the context of its album. Each album is a journey, like a live performance.
Oh, you should have mentioned the bass too, Deaky was killing it in this song!
Glad to see you guys are back with Queen!! :D Thank you!!
Guys you gotta listen to Winters Tale. One of the last tracks sung by Freddie very near the end of his tragically short life. It is hypnotic. Sad but uplifting, dreamy but so true.
Awesome! Great to see the updates and more Queen! For live Wednesday you should check out this song live at the rainbow!
Great video!
You should have listen to the live version at the Rainbow!!
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Queen : princes of the universe
Great song! I wish someone would give John Deacon props - I always listen for his bass.
Great vid lads. You really need to get to Dragon Attack live Montreal. It has an error in it, but the performance is out of this world!!
What was the error?
@@lateramae
John plays his riff into the verse and then it leads to other bits, but it don't matter. Still superb.
@@stuartjones1133 Oh never noticed that. Thank you. Like you said, sounds cool either way.
Freddie also misses a line, that comes out as a string of non-sense sounds (it's gotta be Mack) and you can see John look at Brian seconds later with the "Huh 🤷" headnod. It's still my favorite live version. And probably in my top 5 Queen songs.
Great reaction, guys ! Hope you get the chance to hear it's Late, Dead on time and Princes of the Universe which I think you will enjoy a lot
At the beginning of 1974 the second LP "Queen II" was released. This was followed by a second tour through the United States as support act for Mott The Hoople, but after a few gigs, Brian May became seriously ill and had to be hospitalized, where he had to stay for four long weeks. In May 1974, Brian and the other boys went back to London, there would be no more concerts, all plans for the summer were canceled.
Even worse, Brian also suffered from a stomach ulcer during that period. Brian received special treatment at the hospital, his friends were allowed to come whenever they wanted. Freddie regularly took an organ or guitar with him, so that a lot of pleasant and useful hours were spent. "Useful hours", because many compositions were assembled in the hospital. Queen continued to record songs, but without Brian at that time, many of those songs were for the "Sheer Heart Attack" album, of which the guitar pieces from Brian were recorded and mixed afterwards.
You two are mad chill. Thumbs
Listen to the fast version of "We Will Rock You." You'll be blown away.
One of my favourite songs for blowing the cobwebs away after a heavy night .. 🍻😎
Great reaction guys , keep it up
Woohoo some Queen! Love this song so much, and to think it was originally written pre-Queen! I vote Son and Daughter for Queen I era, or Tie Your Mother Down for an absolute classic that's a little bit later 70s 😊
It definitely is one over their heavier tracks. I just went to a Queen cover band called Sheer Heart Attack and they played this. My highlight of the show was I'm in love with my car. Gotta love Queen. Next track I vote for "keep yourself alive" or "seven seas of rhye" both from self titled album 73'
I'll have to recommend "Breakthru"
My favorite song by Queen 😁
The lighting looks fabulous💋😍
Next Queen son Dead On Time from the jazz album. This Song sound like the near to classic heavy metal.
Hell yea. Some rock n roll.
Glad you reacted to this! Definitely one of my favourite Queen songs. Such a great song.
Nice background and check out Queen - The Fairy Fellers Master stroke
The Fairy Fellers Master Stroke + Nevermore. That's really important 'cause they blend into each other.
Please review Spread Your Wings and It’s Late from News of the World. Freddie’s vocal performance is impeccable.
Queen satisfies all tastes. 👍
Love the new background Andy & Alex and glad you lived Stone Cold Crazy too!
😊😊😊😊😊...love everything 💜
I am a bit confused I thought you guys were going to start to do live videos on Monday but that's fine I love Queen Mondays and I love studio versions. Great song dudes. Thank you. I really do think you guys would love Great King Rat from the Queen I LP. Now I'm Here, It's Late, Sweet Lady, Brighton Rock, In Lap of the Gods (In the Beginning), In Lap of the Gods (Revisited), both need to be played in that order. By the way In Lap of the Gods will blow ur f'in minds. It is a very unique piece of music. Your new setup is pretty cool. I like it a lot.
Salvatore Mistretta no we planned on doing live Wednesday’s, we do have reoccurring segments for modern music Monday’s and music share Monday’s, but they are just segments we don’t want to be tied to one specific segment and would rather be able to be flexible with what we do each day 🌹
I second everything he said about the songs you should do next!!! I really think you’d enjoy these considering the fact you tend to dislike their later 80’s stuff, production and all (as do I).
@@alexfromandyandalex8032 thanks for the reply Alex.
I'd like to add Freddie Mercury's Nevermore you will appreciate his vocals and piano work on that one very short song though just over 2 minutes.
Hey guys I just discovered your channel today and subscribed right away. Saw your review on the Queen Live Aid show and now you REALLY need to check out Queen Live Montreal from 1981. It'll blow your mind just like it did to mine when I first saw it on TV with a good sound system. Was never a huge Queen fan until I saw that concert.....and now I'm convinced that Freddie is and was the best frontman in rock.
Best reactors on the internet's. You guys are honoust and actually comment the music and the different elements. I also feel both of you have a feel and understanding of music.
This is "only" the Album-Version. Their is another version of this track avaible which is a "studio-trash-version" ... additional drums (double-base), additional guitars and some more bass! I guess it was recorded at the d-studios. Don't want to link it, just "youtube" for "Stone Cold Crazy (Very Rare)". That's where I found it online (but, got that on CD as well).
I'm starting to love this channel now
This song is so good live, Freddie's voice is so sharp and Brian does that police siren thing live on the guitar. love it. The pace is even more frantic too. I'm surprised the harmonies turned you off a bit, at least you're honest though. ;)
Finally! I figured you guys would like this early Queen; the live performance of this at The Rainbow is good. I’ll keep suggesting this early one, Son and Daughter, yet another early style of Queen that may surprise you.
Back round looks great nice job guys👍
Brilliant. I love this song. Glad you really liked it too. I first heard this soooo many years ago.
The vocal harmony hit is reminiscent of later stuff, but there's a heck of a lot of harmony on Queen II.
Great vid! U should listen to Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy it’s sooo good
Great song!
I liked your old setting from your “dorm” The entire album Sheer Heart Attack is like Queen II masterpieces where every song basically stands for itself. Glad that you are listening to it. Did I tell that In mid 70.s read the Tolkien Lord of the Ring trilogy listening entirely to Queen I, Queen II, and Sheer Heart Attack :-)
Want best of both worlds if you are going to see “Metallica” do it? Watch the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert of it. James Hetfield took the vocals and Brian, Roger, and John played their usual instruments. Best part about this? It was filmed well, You can really see how INSANELY fast and good Roger and Brian are when they play it.
Heather Qualy I agree. I also prefer the live queen version of this song, but then Queen was always the best live band. James Hatfield pretty much replicates Freddie’s timing/ inflection in his versions. You don’t mess with perfection!
You guys are one of the best when it comes to reaction videos. You guys deserve much more views. Keep up the good work!
Nice look to the set guys; different but I like it. This song was unbelievably heavy at the time it was released. Brian's Red Special never sounded so monster and all the whammy-bar dive bombs and harmonized leads made this song radical. Still fresh today. Nice reaction!
