- The Karo Tribe of Ethiopia are known for their elaborate body painting. There are only 1000 members left of this African Tribe.
They live along the banks of the Lower Omo Valley, and have had a tough few decades with drought and disease affecting their cattle. They are one of the most unique tribes in Africa, and we were able to spend the day with them.

They can make beer out of Sorghum.
Have you ever heard a tribe named “Shertukpen” ?
I can quit my job any day for this.
Sir i really want to join You
Sorghum is used for many gluten-free dishes for those who have allergies to gluten and Celiac disease. I never thought about growing it myself or eating like you showed, cool!
I remember Missionaries coming to our village in Kalimpong when I was a small kid, they distributed some Coin sweets; me being the smallest got the smallest piece of it, I can never forget it’s taste. Been almost 13 years now. Thank you for spreading smile and peace with these people, your visit will surely motivate them to learn more and grow, help their community to have better healthcare and education along with food supplies and human rights along with safeguarding their culture and tradition. ❤
Nice words God bless you🎉
Where do you live? I would love to be able to send you some.
@@HighHeelDivayo wtf u talkin bout
Amen ❤ god bless you community 😊
@@HighHeelDiva Kalimpong; it’s a small town in the foothills of Himalaya, thank you for your willingness to help! Our village is developing now roads being constructed by our own people’s money; although the government has little to negligible efforts , I’m glad we are developing.
Loved the part where the boys filmed, it was pretty cool to see their reaction with everyone and I felt like a part of the village
I tried this idea with the Mursi, and one of the elders caught the kid and scolded him because he thought he had stole my camera and ran away... It doesn't always work 😆
Oh my hahahahaah
We... INDIAN Still Eating Sorghum Rotis
That's hilarious, you should've included that 😂
Hahaha
I'm Ethiopian from the capital. I know about Omo valley but I have no idea about the people and culture there
Thank you for introducing me my own country.
Very lovely tour, I think you're full of adventure.
It’s sad to see so many tribes disappearing. I’m glad that you showed this video and had so much respect for these people.
to me, i think its important to atleast document and record the history and culture at the least before they are all gone
Honestly the fact that you gave Koronfo to make a vlog is so awesome and he did such a good job
The faces of the children are so comical, yet precious when you show them, themselves while videoing and putting funny faces and the hat on them, such a JOY!
My ovaries exploded when i saw that part. Such sweet innocence, they laugh at anything entertaining, and it had me laughing too. I love it. Can't wait to have my own kids one day. ❤
What everyone here feels but may not have immediately realised why this makes them feel so good, is that in all your videos across all tribes, what you are seeing is people free from doubt. Never once have we seen anyone with self doubt. It is the best form of therapy to witness people like this and I'm an African living in the west.
One thing I do often here is doubt myself and it's very mentally unhealthy. It's like a spiritual illness. I can't wait to return back home. Best wishes to everyone.
Can't believe you don't have more subscribers, not only this video but several others are so insane to watch, You truly bring for me a light into this world and show us so many different things, keep up the work!
Thanks so much. The channel has exploded in the last 2 years. It took 10 to find my style (and myself honestly) for it all to come together. Really happy you're all here
Yeah it's some really incredible stuff right here!
I was just thinking the same thing. So much good content! Make me feel like I'm there.
All people want to see now is that stupid over used word “karen” screaming, people calling the cops and other weak, boring, over dramatic crap. Or some slapper with fish lips doing a peace sign. So pathetically shallow.
It's so cool to see you explore and visit with these lost tribes. Refreshing take on travel content and you show much respect to those you meet while on the road. Sticking around for more content! Stay safe and enjoy your travels! 🧡
Some of the best is coming up next!
@@fearlessandfar staying tuned 💜
What if he doesn't wanna be safe though? Will you worry? And if you worry, will that keep him safe?
😄😉
They are not lost, they are just not known .
Yess I agree! He’s such a kind , non judgemental, respectful RUclipsr !!!! I love it
This is not a critique in anyway but these videos deserve more than 15-20 minutes. I know there's more footage for most of these to where 45-60minute videos probably wouldn't be hard. I keep finding myself wanting to learn more about the folks you visit. Much love🤙🏽
your videos have better quality than some actual TV shows/docus,,, you're doing great!! pls stay safe :)
Now that's a compliment 🔥
Yes he was. Def giving documentary vibes
couldnt agree more
I highly agree! 😁
The most ~ Only ~ person I have seen go into a tribe and genuinely LAUGH together. Absolutely no sense of exploitation, awkwardness, just fun & learning about each OTHERS’ cultures. They genuinely like this guy (Mike I think his name is). Loved it
Just started watching your videos bro, this is insane what you are doing. Spreading awareness and showing the pure beauty of humanity. Appreciate all your work!
I appreciate that! The goal is to dive deep and show you all what it's like to really be there, I try and remove the cultural barrier as much as possible.
These are some of the most beautiful people i've seen in my whole life. They're so lively and chill. Thank you for giving us the experience to meet them through you, Mike.
I remember an African woman once came to a little Mexican town I lived in. She came from some place in Africa. She mostly stopped by, looking to get a haircut and managed to stop at our house (since my mom is a hairdresser). The African woman was extremely kind and friendly and knew English. She had lived in Phoenix, working at a casino. And that day, after my mom cut her hair, the lady had offered to take me on a trip to Africa. I didn’t want to go then, but I regret it now, knowing that I would’ve been on an AMAZING adventure of a lifetime.
I’d still love to go someday and make wonderful memories with all these AMAZING people! 🙂☺️ and seeing these awesome videos, makes me want to go even more!
Can't help but smile throughout the whole video. You are my favorite vlogger, you appreciate the cultures of different people and respect their traditions by being a part of it too while staying on their village. I hope u keep making contents like this! ❤
I have tears running down my cheeks right now. These people are truly beautiful, and thinking they may soon die out as a tribe, it just breaks my heart. This is the price humanity pays for so-called civilisation and advanced technology. We lose so much more than we ever realise. I am so thankful I found this channel, and learned about these amazing people before modern life wipes them from the face of the Earth, like so many other cultures/tribes.
they're not really wiped out they move to the city, but i like your comment for the passion. they'll trade their belief with people they meet, see those wooden pillows? they should be familiar, ancient ppl used them even king tut. it's never really gone.
Advanced technology is what is making you watch this, otherwise you would never know they even existed
Are you white? European? If you are these people are one of the first people on earth they are native tk east africa, east africa were humanity started
If they want to modernise then who are you to deny them that right
@@hb1932 they don't want and they have no clue what modernization means. Usually, all indigenous people want to maintain their tradition and want no part in modernization.
Thank you for promoting the unique , mesmerizing and unspoiled culture. Proud to be Ethiopian!!
Ethiopia is my favourite country in Africa. My great grandfather was a Swedish man who worked for Haile Selassie to improve the Ethiopian airforce. :)
Big thanks to Mike for showing the reality of the tribes - love from Ethiopia 🇪🇹
Such a great video, I love how respectful you are for the culture, and how you make the kids laugh, and I wonder how Koronfo learn to speak English, I wish he have his own camera and share content from his community, and it is very sad that I lived In Ethiopia my whole life and I didn’t know how their livelihood is affected by the building of the dam. Thank you so much for showing my beautiful country Ethiopia
Exactly
Ya same here
Thank you for bringing the world to us - I live in Mauritius a tiny island in the Indian Ocean. And I dream of one day travelling to meet the different people of the world, and connect with them to understand them. I'm always filled with emotion when I watch your episodes.
in my childhood also, we used to subsist on sorghum, millet and milk only, with occasional meat.
There were no clinics, modern medicine or vaccination. And i don't remember ever getting seriously sick.
Pure natural diet and environment.
these authentic encounters put a smile on your face especially when it comes to the kids! Wholesome.
As a RUclipsr trying to show the beauty of Nigeria and Africa to the world through my channel. You inspire me alot 🙏🙏
Spies not RUclipsrs. We never learn .Look at what the maasais in Tanzania are facing now.

subbed to support, keep grinding, brother
I visited Karo tribe few months before. Been to Korcho village. Beautiful people. Very chill, laid back community. We connected instantly. I miss the kids' smile. 😍😍😍
When you gave your camera he literally made a hole vlog man deserves a RUclips channel
Please adopt the guy who did the vlog. He is very intelligent
You can see that, Mike is always, so pure and humbled when touring tribes!
I wish this video was longer!! Really great content as always. Thank you for using your platform to education others about this village!!
The body markings are always so beautiful within these tribes. Whether it is scarification, or paint. Even the lip rings have a certain style to them!
I've watched a bunch of videos from other channels from other creators documenting Africa.... TBH I like how easy and genuinely you connect with people and how respectful you are even with your words on the documentation. Even trying out some of their. Culture like the piercings.
I loved the young man who you gave out your go pro to.
I came across this channel yesterday, and enjoy the 5videos have watched already.
You really don’t know how much information and detailed you put into these videos and I can just feel the passion and love and its so beautiful tbh like is really inspiring
Wow! A beautiful look into the lives of a group of people most have probably never heard of. It's incredible to see the way they paint their faces and bodies and scar their ears once they're married. Fascinating stuff, man. So many beautiful stories that we get to learn through you. I continue to be amazed by your ability to connect with local kids, no matter where you are in the world. All in all, another favorite of mine. Well done! 🐉🔥
Idk why I got emotional, but this video is everything ❤️ bless your heart
I said this on a previous video but the respect you demonstrate to the people you visit is fantastic. Your videos are both entertaining and educational. Showing the kids things from the 'western world' and seeing them react and smile like that is great! I'm very surprised you don't have more subscribers!
I'm discovering the world. Through RUclips . What a great time to be alive 🏂
So happy to have you guys along with me 🐉
All that I can say is beautiful. They bring tears to my eyes to see so distant yet so wonderful people! May God bless them. Wonderful and educational video, Thank You!
I learned about the karo tribe as a kid. I've been fascinated with this tribe beauty is beauty and they do what they can with they have this tribe and the massi tribe. Very humble people willing to show you the way they live and have always been so kind. The paint is so beautiful on there skin! Love this video. Lucky man to be able to do this!
Your vibe is just so fantastic, your videos really make me feel grateful for this planet full of diversity! Thank you ❤️
Fascinating and fantastic video as always, Mike! Makes me happy to be a patron! Thanks for showing us the world!
I've only just discovered your incredible channel, and I'm already hooked. Thank you so much for sharing your insightful experiences with far flung communities across the world. You meet everyone with such humility and openness, it's inspiring.
I really love watching your adventures, thank you for taking us with you.
It makes me happy to see human fraternity and curiosity; it might be weird but the way they themselves and their culture/way of living is respected is very appreciated :)
It allows us to discover so many things through almost childlike eyes
My online Cultural Geography course used this video for an assignment this week. In a fifteen week course of videos and written responses, this was by far my favorite one yet! The Karo were so welcoming, and were equally as interested in you as you were to them!
Thank you for helping to dispell the negative thoughts about the continent of Africa. They have so little, yet they know about kindness and hospitality. The Western world would benefit, if we could be more like this Tribe. I pray that God will protect them and continue to provide all their needs.
I do wonder who is behind the cotton industry though. Not a very viable product, considering their lack of water
You might think they have little.. but they dont think so. They have enough
Thanks Mike for sharing your amazing time In Ethiopia 🇪🇹 been watching your videos for a while now love everything you do much respect to you
Koronfo’s English is sooo good 🥺💪🏽 loved the tour he gave us 💙
I love how very kind and friendly all the ppl are!! So much laughter,so many smiles, the ppl are very beautiful and when you add all the fantastic art they cover their bodies with its amazing. I'd love to visit there, it must be so much fun and too share and learn so much.. ❤❤❤❤
Thank you man, You are truly leaving footprints for the generations to follow and learn. Your videos will be a proof who were here. 🤲🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
You’re a blessed human my guy, the places you’ve been and the people you’ve met 🥰mind blowing, I hope in my next life I can live and experience just as much , I love your channel and keep doing what you do ♥️much love from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼
I would love to see more tribes make their own videos in someway! The kids seem so happy to try them, and it would help us raise awareness/funds of the river drying up…
Wow. The vlog by the Karo boys was amazing. They are naturals and took your video equipment truly behind the scenes. I'm so glad you do these things with the people you meet.
Can't help but like Mike's personality...he fits himself in where ever he goes, with whatever tribe or part of the world he is!!
Lets all agree that this is one of the best RUclips channel of all time 💯

Truly you are Fearless Watching this amazing video from Kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪

I love what I'm seeing. Absolutely incredible. Welcome to Africa.
Beautiful tribe. I shall learn more about Ethiopia as I've heard about it quite a lot from my Ethiopian friends but never really dug deep into their tribe diversities.
First time viewer and I LOVE this dude!
Fascinating content!
❤️
I have been watching you on RUclips for the last 6 or 7 months and i have been learning a lot from you how you respect and love the people .may God bless you and Long life and healthy life for you.
I just wanna say bravo for the packaging of the video (title + thumbnail) and obviously the idea and execution
Thank you Florence. Wanted to highlight these people especially
♥️ from North East India,Mike
1st off I LOVE you, your content, your love of life and culture..you are so inspiring. I've learned so much just from watching your channel. I've changed in my heart as well. I've learned to not be so judgemental & dismissive to strange new things..To appreciate lifes magic and diversity. You've tought me so much I feel indebted to you. I'd absolutely love to journey with you. I dont even care where to as you make EVERY place you visit seem fun and interesting. The world needs more people like you.. Also I'd love one of those wooden pillows lol
I love seeing the tribes It feels like home to me watching you have fun and laugh I honestly cry I think I was a part of some of these tribes in a past life it just tugs at my heart I love it I love it!!
What beautiful people :) #savethekaro
Love your channel!! I find myself smiling the whole way through your videos, I love seeing how people live off the land without much technological intervention. For some they may seem primitive but to me they have it all worked out, it's only the industry around them that seems to hamper their existence. I wish I had the skills they had, the knowledge of the land and nature within it and to be able to live in harmony with it. These people have so much wisdom, wisdom which we could all learn from xxx
I smiled the whole time! God is so good!!
Isn't it amazing how universal the "👍" gesture is?
It seems so nice to live like naturally like this. The people’s lives seem so hard but everyone in your videos seems happy but more importantly fulfilled. All these people have purpose and I love it.
What a journey.. the quality of these videos are Insane!
Better than some TV shows 🙈
eyyy thank you!
Good job Mike, You should try the El Molos tribe in an island in Lake Turkana too, one of the few and almost extinct communities in the world. It is believed that they're 99 in total and they keep the same number no addition or subtraction it could be a myth though. I'll be happy if you feature them in your stories.
Just found your channel.....I wish right at this moment I was younger and richer so I could come meet these wonderful people in Ethiopia....happy smiling faces everywhere....how beautiful they are.....now I have to binge watch your previous uploads....thank you for bringing these amazing people to our homes.....my love to all the people of Karo tribe
wow im not sure you understand how good quality ur stuff is, every time its like u get another episode of ur favorite show
I remember this beautiful tribe from Ethiopia. They are one of the most loving and hospitable people I met whiles visiting.
Not to forget about korofo a wonderful you man who dream is to become a footballer.
Thanks for sharing these wonderful stories and experience 😊😊😊
The Maasai, Mursi, Karo, Anuak, Denk, and other tribes I don't know are my close cousins. I'm from the Nuer tribe, we can never go extenxt.
Yes, including the Samburu, Turkana and Pokot of Kenya. I think the Maasai, Samburu, Turkana and the Pokot migrated to Kenya from Southern Ethiopia and Sudan especially along the Nile river.
The descendants of the Karo people of Ethiopia are the modern day Nilotic tribes living in the Central South Sudan (Yangwara, Bari, Pojulu, Kuku, Mundari and Kakwa). We are one people just separated by boarders. Karo means relative.
This is a brilliant video and what an amazing welcome and experience you had.
Africa is just beautiful!
We spotted so many similarities as well as differences with the way the Ndau of Zimbabwe live.
Thank you 🙂
Love how you respect cultures. This is the way to live man !!!
I love this and the fact I get to learn about so many different cultures and rituals outside of my understanding of day to day life. Just a question will u ever spend the day with aboriginal people in Australia?
Hey man! I've just become a huge fan after watching some of your videos, I'm hoping one day I can travel to some of these same locations. I'm afraid of getting into a bad situation with someone with bad intentions, getting sick from eating/drinking or picking up a strange parasite, based off of stories ive heard. Do you have a video out there showing if you've ever encountered any of these experiences and how you dealt with them? If so, I'd love to watch it, to help overcome my fears. Thanks!
I stumbled upon your channel by accident and started watching this video. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Super interesting content Sir!! I will binge watch all your videos. Stellar interaction with tribal members. Consider me your newest loyal subscriber...
It only occurred to me after this ended, I’d been smiling the entire video 😊 This could’ve been an hour long ❤ What beautiful People!
Those stilts are such a great idea!
Those wooden pillows are common treasures in Egyptian tombs.
As an African, l really enjoy and appreciate your work. I have learnt a lot from your videos about how broad the continent is. There are so many tribes l never knew about until l watched your videos, very educational. Keep up the good work❤
I dont know you are reading this.... but, I'm watching youtube for many years each day. And I don't write comments ever. I just want to let you know, this is one of the best channels I've seen so far. Not joking, no bs. Thank you for uploading and thank you for your adventegers. Im not capable of traveling, but your videos makes me feel I'm there. Again THANK you for exploring and keep up the videos, I enjoy every minute of it!
I love that u let the villagers make their own vlog it’s a different perspective
I did it with the Mursi to, and one of the elders caught the kid and scolded him because he thought he had stole my camera and ran away haha
Dope content Mike. I look forward to your video every week. Come to South Africa and videos about the tribes in my country. You'll have an amazing time meeting the rainbow nation.
Next one... getting drunk with the Hamer tribe!
This is the true definition of happiness and life itself you are blessed. Only a handful will ever get to experience what you are experiencing in your traveling keep on pushing.👏🏾
basically the only channel on yt where i watch their vids start to finish. keep up the great work!
I would love to travel here and experience their culture
It's so important that you document all the rituals and history of these tribes before they disappear. That we all see the beauty these tribes have. Love your channel!
Such a beautiful people, living in peace with other tribes and with nature. There is so much that we could learn from them and their history.
I gotta say, this is one of the wokest and still most humble channels I have come across. You give the locals space, introduce them by their names, educate your audience, hire local guides and you are mind- and respectful towards other cultures. And at the same time you are a fun and enthusiastic person and I have the feeling you are one of few RUclipsrs who can laugh about themselves. Great content man, keep it up!
Though I don't have much time because of my competitive exam to get admission in a Government Medical College in India, which is on 17th of July. But I can't wait for 17th of July to watch this something which is always very close to my heart ❤️,inner feelings.I can't express how much I love adventures, especially the Tribes.Don't know when will I get chance to witness all this. But yes I am giving my best for my exam.Love you and your whole team.INDIA🇮🇳
that was a lot of personal in4 you gave there that nobody asked for...😆😆😆😆😆😆
The second this video started to play I was wondering where I recognized your voice from,
