Africa's SCARIEST Breakfast! Tribal Food with the Maasai in Tanzania
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 июн 2024
- The Maasai people are an African tribe that inhabit Tanzania and Kenya.
They have so many unique customs and traditions, and we wanted to experience them first hand.
We team up with Kiliwarrior Expeditions and embark on a 5 day trek through the Ngorongoro Highlands. To finish this experience, we attempt to summit Ol Doinyo Lengai a 3,188 m carbonite volcano. A 6 hour, massively steep climb to the top of the Maasai Mountain of God.
If you'd like to plan your own trek, check out Kiliwarriors here: kiliwarriorexpeditions.com/
Also, Big love to @Eva zu Beck for putting up with my crazy ideas, and helping me film this video.

Much respect to the massai the only tribe that has never been conquered
Thanks for sharing your adventures , life goals*
This is the best !
This is truly awesome stuff. Stuff like this educates people and makes them a lot less ignorant about other people that we share the world with. :D
You're the only adventurer on RUclips properly documenting and respecting the cultures of these amazing people all over the world. Mad respect Mike!
"The best ever food review show" is good too
You're welcome
Look up Harold Baldor he live with the maasai for months.
The beauty of the people and the landscape it’s just amazing 💯❤️❤️
Sabbatical is also very good
Anyone else addicted to these videos? Doesn’t feel like a waste of time like a lot of others things I watch on RUclips
Me too- I’ll tell myself “just one more” and then suddenly it’s 2 a.m and I’m halfway through the lost tribes playlist 😂 even though they’re relatively long videos (like 20-30 minutes) they go by so fast! Very good cinematography, pacing, and interesting content
I watch a lot of RUclips, I’m sure many can be considered a waste of time, but I feel like these videos are cheating. Where else can we learn so much about a culture I’d never known about and def wouldn’t be able to meet all in a 20 min video. And to be done in such a respectful way, I love them.
Learning about other people's cultures is also education. That's probably why you don't feel as guilty watching these! Coming from somebody who's now addicted to these videos :')
As a maasai immigrant I find this video very heartwarming 😊
😊

Its not free. You are kind of working. You are working by watching ads. And the ad publishers are paying them for you.
you are paying by watching ads
Why would you pay to watch this it should be free
What a blessing being with the Masai and learning so much about them, their culture and making lovely lifelong friends. My brother treked over 100 miles in the bush in Tanzania and climbed Kilimanjaro in the mid 1990s. What a great experience he had.
This is a beautiful video! Seeing how genuinely excited the Maasai kids are to meet you is really sweet
RUclips actually recommended this to me. Who else?
For Me also😕

My dad met some Maasai when he went to Africa as a medic. He had the opportunity to drink blood, he also went on a hike with them, just like you. Since then, he always wanted to go back and see them, but he never managed yet. Maybe in the future, who knows. Crazy experience! Love your videos
I hope he gets to go there again:)
I’d be willing to pay for pops to do that again, start a gofundme or something you never know
Maybe even get him on video with this guy

As a solo hiker/camper, fears are never my problem when it comes to travel. It’s solely a financial issue. What I wouldn’t give to have even one major trip like this in my life time. Sadly, it will never happen. I am grateful for you and the work you out in to providing quality documentation on these adventures, whether solo or accompanied. Much respect.
Mike
traveling costs alot, but living in most of these countrys is cheap and only the flight is expensive. I think it costs max 3000€ to book a flight (Start USA), eat 2 times a day in a restaurant, and have a room to sleep and money for moving from place to place for 2 months in Tanzania
It would be great to be around masai for example, you would be able to buy a goat, get them to cook it and then eat together, dance, sing and enjoy the most beautiful experiences laughing and being introduced to new things like the fauna, flora and how they live, survive and look after their animals, find water etc. I cant think of anything id enjoy more but its important to go for it with an open mind and be prepared to leave all preconceptions, stereotypes behind and be open to embrace new experiences and learn new stuff then it could well be some of the greatest times of your life. Ive roughed it in India, Nepal, Pakistan, Australia especially in the himalayas and hindu kush but also in the outback camping but be prepared for little surprises like King Brown Mulga snake crawling over your foot and into a plastic bag of clothes in my little ridge tent.
Your content is just too awesome ⚡
Another thing- in a way , you seem to expose the mass media by showing us that people in places like that actually thrive and enjoy the lifestyle. Media tells us the opposite at times.
I do understand that some places in the world are in hardship but the media tells us that any places outside of the powerhouse countries are poor, unhealthy, starving , violent ...
You really show us the beauty of the world . Appreciate you my brother 👌🏽
The production quality is amazing. Also, I'm glad you participate in the traditions they invite you to. It seems like a cool experience to learn from it all and to let your audience experience it 2nd hand.
Gobble down a schooner of blood and get back to us brother. :-))
"Just so you know I'm not cheating" he said with blood left on his lips
omfg
i eat like them im 16 old
"In all honesty" ..does he believe anyone believes he actually drank any of that?" lol
Learning how our true bloodline lives, and how the cast members respect it. NO judgements. I love it.

RUclips is doing some heavy shadow ban on your channel , you could have easily reached millions of people by now
Many have told me that. Don’t know if it’s true. What’s a guy suppose to do?
@@fearlessandfar it's because u show things that are against community regulation of youtube, like blood and cuts or maybe even weapons , but that's your style and what makes you great, because you are like a rebel ;) , but if you want to reach more people you have to comply to those regulations , then when you have a bigger audience like 1 or 2 million subs , they will watch you more and like your videos , then youtube can't put you in the shadow ban , also look at your most viewed videos and notice that they don't go against the regulations and make more like them, sorry if it was a long answer but i really want to help you :)
every social media is doing that now. scary as fuk
I search Hadza tribe videos all the time and just not finding his videos ... i can’t believe I haven’t seen sooner
@@Kay.D same just found the channel last night
I visited Masai mara in 2019 and went for a walk with 2 Masia tribes men (who were working in our camp) at night through the game reserve. We could hear hyneas laughing in the background though couldn't see anything as it was very dark. We reached their village on the way and they welcomed me home and offered me fresh milk and blood. I said I already had my dinner. As an Indian guy, they asked me a lot of questions about my culture and vice-versa. Good memories :-)
I can't put into words how beautiful this video is. This channel just popped up on my feed and this is one of the best recommendations that RUclips has ever given me.
Wow! I gasped out loud with wonder when you let us see the crater! That is the most beautiful mountain I've ever seen! And I've been to the top of Mauna Kea..I love your channel the most Mike you actually try the customs without wincing too much and with respect..I think you are a special good dude.Thank you for sharing your adventures and inspiring us!
If I was going to make the effort to go do this, I would drink the blood to show my appreciation, sincerity, and acceptance. I would not abuse their hospitality or insult them. You are all brave. God Bless you.
You get it man! 🙌🏻
I'm down for trying it.

Only thing I won’t do is eat guts like intestines
You can see pure happiness and joy on their eyes, I love being Tanzanian...welcome all..here is where fun never ends..
RUclips had been showing us pranks and keeping important channels like this from viewers. I love this channel
Mad respect for you, man. You go do these crazy things, put yourself in danger so others don’t have to. Keep up the good work. I appreciate you so much!

Masai: _Ah yes, nothing better for sterilizing a wound than rubbing a turd against it_
Cow dung actually is a useful anti-septic. I doubt eating it will cure any diseases like penicillin but it makes sense that they use it for wounds.
no cow dung in particular has some useful anti-septic. but i dont think it should be used to cure any wounds or infections, especially on a human. but it has some other benefits like it forms a very good compost. where i live in south asia i have seen people dry the cow dung and use it as a fuel. it burns very good when it is completely dried!!!
I watched a show from NatGeo also featuring Maasai, they use cow dungs just to seal a fairly superficial wound so it poses no real danger to the animal. Plus, they've been doing that for as long as we can think of and it works.
It's not for "sterilizing". They just want the blood flow to stop, you're a bit confused. You'll get there someday :)
My thoughts exactly. I was just wondering how haven't these animals died from horrendous infections already but according to the other people in this reply section it's apparently anti-septic. Either ways, it's disgusting (but hey if it work)
WHERE HAS THIS CHANNEL BEEN THESE HAVE BEEN THE BEST 3 HOURS OF THIS YEAR I CANT STOP WATCHING

Can’t emphasize how amazing your content is I’m literally obsessed! Thank you for sharing them with us. Love it. Side note tho, I literally had major anxiety watching y’all climb that mountain it felt like you’d just fall backwards 😩😖😖
The Massai are amazing people. I was fortunate to be able to visit a village while traveling in Kenya in 2005.
Congratulations for immersing yourselves in the culture of the tribes you visited. That is why I love watching your vlogs with Eva. Both of you respect the locals and patronized local businesses. Keep on!
if culture was canibalism would you congratulate them too?

@7:59 That "I see" had me in stitches. He's having a casual conversation with you and you're trying your best to hold your composure
I just realized that while his videos are about the culture of the tribes and are very respectful his titles are stuff like "the SCARIEST breakfast" and i think its to get people who don't think of tribes well to actually see new perspectives

Amazing attitude and open minded af.🥰 being born in a different country than America but growing up both in Asia and the US, I would always be nervous that the public would be judgmental about what unique food I ate, scary enough I got bullied more the older I got esp high school I had to practically deny my culture to fit in. Im so happy 2 see more open mindedness to try new things different cultures and not comment negatively or judge before trying it. Thank you for your contents your team bring understanding and great experience with what y'all do. Stay safe and healthy 🙏
