- While in Bangladesh, I met up with the Santal tribe (Or Santhal) on the Indian border in the North East. The plan was to go hunting, what ended up happening was a really strange adventure.

hallo, i live near the tea garden. i happy t see you in our country and in my district.
i have watched your african tribe videos and that time i was thinking to see you in my country,,,,,,,, finally..
Thanks a lot.
I see your side hustle. ;)
Whitepowder is limestone it helps to make tiny cuts in the skin to allow tobacco penetrate into the skin and straight onto the bloodstream for quick kick, rest is tobacco mixed with fennel seeds or mint leaves to hide bitterness 😎
Mystery Solved! Thank you! I’m going to favourite this comment for more people to see. 🔥🙌🏻
@@fearlessandfar its the local way of getting high
Hmm, sublingual substance...
This is how populations fell in love with tobacco. Not by smoking it. Similar to nasal snuff or chew (old school tobacco leave sections you cut with a knife).
We even had huge communal bowls of snuff in parliament until very recently. Politicians would get blitzed on super strong English snuff. Then run the country. Or baseball players into the late 80s using chew.
@Damn Randy just wanted to make a few corrections: betel and areca nut are the same thing and it is also carcinogenic.
Eyebags walking through tea fields after partying... solid perseverance
I am a Bangladeshi, thank you for visiting my little county which so much diversity that many of us didn't know! I follow your content extensively for a while now , but never left a comment! Your videos are better than any documentatries! Thank you for educating the people about a tribe from Bangladesh. Please visit this country again as we have a number of different small tribal minority groups in mountain ranges around the country that people don't really know alot about them!
Little?
Dude you’re a legend for interacting with people on a human level
My experience with the powder is its tobacco and limestone, and sometimes some opium. Atleast, the version in Afghan had opium in it. I don't know if the bangeledeshi variation includes it. Might explain the "really really good" feeling though 🤣
Here in India, we call it "Khaini". And I hate that 🤢😂
Here in america we call it a controlled substance lol
In different states of India it called in different name, in Karnataka it's called tambaaku
@@SmossyYT the whole United States is to "controlled".
Why limestone ? I've never heard of that part
I am Indian Santal from Assam Northeast India bro.☺️ Santals were great hunter and fighters, you should read about the first Independence war of India "The Santhal Rebellion" 1855-56, now Santals don't hunt on animals they have become quite modern they live on cultivation and other regular jobs, but the practice they follow just for sport once in a year and that's called SENDRA, meaning Hunt during January month.
What religion are Santal?
@@pyellard3013 They are Hindus.. ( Mostly)
This day's they mostly converted to Christianity for money
@@skkk352 They are not Hindus they animist, they don't like being called Hindu because they have their own religion called saridhorom

Finally new video that I am really looking forward to.. Thank U ☺
That looks like a fun party and a pretty wild adventure overall! I think I would try it if I were completely healthy. Who doesn't love a good dance party, right? Not sure if I would have enjoyed hunting the foxes, but it's definitely a unique story you can tell later. Awesome video, man. Looking forward to next week! 🐉🐉🐉🐉
The beginning of the video where it’s dark and you’re walking around a village reminded me a lot of what it was like visiting family in El Salvador 🇸🇻
The pleasure we derive from journeys is perhaps dependent more on the mindset with which we travel than on the destination we travel to!!!!!
This was absolutely stunning to watch. Greate work, great edit
KEEP DOING TRIBE VIDEOS I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
As an American hunter I've heard fox tastes good with dark chocolate to note I have never tried it myself

There is a substance called beetlenut , it's mixed with a lime leaf, you chew it, it's like a mild stimulate, or it can be a strong reaction too if you chew to much. The place is Cambodia, in the jungles.

Hi dear
love from bangladesh brother,,,,,
it’s a pleasure to watch such a Video that belongs to my own County.
I believe the white paste is lime betel or lime chalk that is used to consume betel leaves or in this case mixed with tobacco leaves. That what makes the tingling and burning sensation in your mouth. But having it too much would slightly burn your mouth. It numbs your mouth and for first timer, makes you feel a bit dizzy
Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩 you came to my city wow.... Wish i could meet u......Feel free to knock me if u ever come again....Stay safe stay blessed
i think this place is panchagar.... am I right??
Eva blew me on an expedition in Antarctica not that long ago ..... Amazing how vulnerable they get when they are scared 🤭🤭🤭 ......
In Northern Philippines ( Cordillera) we call it tapey "rice wine".
The white powder is limestone, the leaf is tobacco. They were mostly talking Indian so it was as a whole a very Indian experience.
Proud to be a santal❤
I love Eva so I subscribed ... love you Eva
Hey Folk! ❤️
I'm thankful to u for showing this to us..... I belong to this community, but I'm from India. This is the first time, I'm watching lifestyle of my people in some other countries, and how they're doing. I found a lot in common and but the way, they are to go for hunting with Bow and Arrow, is end in India. Now, almost none of the tribes of India, hunt like that. Eating habits have also changed, now no one literally eats foxes And even the lifestyle too have changed a lot in my place. We are socialised now, doing jobs and taking education etc.
And surprisingly, the songs u were listening, were released in my place in Jharkhand. 😅
My whole state does play such songs during massive celebration of festival.
Amazing content 100%
Hi,hoping someday you'll come back to the rugged mountains of Cordillera, bring with you Eva so she will try to taste the especial delicasy called pinikpikan with etag and your favorite dinuguan. (chocolate meat)
Super exciting content 😍love from sri lanka 😍😍
you have dangerous adventures sir! your amazing and so brave, keep safe always
Luv ur vids man... Barefoot yeah!!
At first you chew Tabocco leaves mix with lime , than Hariya ( its farmented Rice beer ) & the famous dance of the tribe is called Jhumoor dance. They are quite expert in bow hunting. 👍
You guys are BRAVE 😅
The white power you r talking about is called sada or khaini or kaka sada i very popular tobacco in India ,Bangladesh,Nepal and Pakistan ...it's simply a leaves cut into small pieces mixed with lime ...it doesn't get you high but just a sting pain around the lips because of the lime..
Lot's of love ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ both of you.
You should go bandarban , khagrachari and rangamati to find hunters in Bangladesh
Very Interesting Video Kept it up Handsome...
Like your video so much sir.Thumbs up !

The powder and leaves were sun-dried or fermented coarsely cut tobacco leaves + lime ( apparently it increases the effect of nicotine)
That power is used everwhere in central asia, middle east and parts of south east asia. We in Afghanistan and Iran called it Nuswar, some of them are so strong that if you are not used to it, it can really knock you out

The powder you put in between your gums where a mix of grounded limestone and tobacco leaf. this is pretty much like smoking cigarettes or chewing tobacco. the burning sensation came from the grounded limestone. it will literally burn your mouth if you put limestone inside your mouth. the technique is to just leave them in between the gums and let it soak up the saliva and swallow the saliva slowly. it gives you a very light buzz.
What a beautiful place where they hunted
