The shaman at 6:43 is from my Village. His name is Mudang Pai (you can see we have the same surname), he is one of the few remaining shamans in our tribe. There are lots of families who don't have a shaman anymore, and while performing any traditional rituals they will play the voice recording of the prayers/chantings. (As they don't have a priest anymore) Fun fact: Mudang Pai has played a role in a Bollywood movie "Bhediya" 1 more fun fact: While Aate(Brother) Pai is a priest for our traditional indigenous trbal religion, his wife is a Christian, but they live peacefully together. Both of them respecting each other's religion.

Unbelievably sad and tragic the lengths women have to go through to try to feel safe. She was just a little girl when that was done to her . Imagine the lifelong migraines and sinus problems
U sure how this would cause migraines or sinus problems because they can still breath through their nostrils, but I agree with the rest of what you said. Women pay the price for mens insecurity and inability to control themselves.
I agree, oxygen is healthier through the nose to your brain it’s probably not even to be stolen but to make you less intelligent than other men sooo I’m glad this is a dying trend.

Hi Drew 👋 I’m not from India, but thank you for sharing this story because I found it unbelievably interesting, keep on creating really amazing videos!
Fantastic video! It was so interesting to see a little bit of how these lovely people live. :) It does make me sad thiugh that the origin of the nose plugs for the women was to make themselves "ugly" to avoid kidnapping... it's very sad that the women were desperate enough to mutilate themselves so they could try to be safe. At least now it's something the ladies seem to be proud of.
Thank you Drew for showing the world the other side of India that exists, the northeastern part which is often neglected and many are not aware about. it is very diverse and rich in it's history! love from Nagaland!
Shame on anyone who neglects Northeastern part of India. See this youtuber, he hates India, yet will come for views that he will get on his videos. Indians need to have this dedication which they only show when to want to flee to Heaven America.
Keep doing what you do bro just don't that fancy ima go spend 500k on Japan's fancy boat cruise or whatever the heck Mr Beast and other youtubers do. It just makes me feel he'll poor and I find it disrespectful when they upload videos like every time. I think about 70 percent of the world is poor and will never experience that. That's why I prefer these type of videos. It reminds me of my family's Home in Mexico so I can relate to theses type of video. Plus I love learning about other cultures and what they do and eat. How amazing. What an incredible experience you had and shared with us. I could feel the vibe , people look so friendly and their smile is so genuine, it made my day.
You said at around 5:50 that Christianity was introduced during colonialism. This is not true because Christianity was introduced into India almost 2000 years ago by Saint Thomas the Apostle. There are still ancient Christian communities living in India till this day, i.e., the Saint Thomas Christians.
Those are just small refugees not large.. But colonialism and English slavery was attained through brainwashing called Christianity.. Break Indians apart
Love your videos but this was so intriguing, breathtaking, fascinating..... I'm so at loss to describe how mesmerizing it was. This deserves an award for the research and time spent interacting with this little known tribe.... they do seem to be indigenous to before India or china were countries. It would be interesting to see if the closest Chinese region to where they live, shares some of their traditions and culture.

I don't want to know more about Gujarat or Maharashtra or UP especially when I don't even know about the tribes of NE. I definitely don't care about other states. It's so cute how you guys were sitting together, the ladies touching your shoulders.. a godly image!
Thank you for your content it is much needed and shows other cultures in such a respectful way. Thank you for sharing the truth the world needs to see.

We never stop discovering, learning new things, “meeting” new tribes all the time. Thank you Drew Binsky.
Amazing. I, being an Indian, had no idea that this tribe existed. It does not mean that I don't care for/about other cultures and traditions... I love learning about other cultures, but this, I had simply never heard of! This just proves the immense cultural diversity in India. Thank you so much, Drew, for introducing us to so many new places and the traditions there!

Let's discuss tucks , injections piercings in the modern world
It basically a gauged nose piercing, they don’t plug the nostril opening itself

Thank you Drew for finally visiting the North Eastern part of India🥰. This part is filled with serene landscapes full of greenery and untouched by pollution, & the Best part are the people who are simple, loving and welcoming to everyone. As a fellow North Eastern Indian from Assam, I couldn't be more happy. Thankyou once again, you are always welcome here. I really hope you enjoyed your time here in the North East 😄😄🥰

Just discovered your channel. Yes I read the complete description and you absolutely need to continue to write these- truly curious people appreciate more than just a video. Thank you for your offerings.
Supper agree with you. ❤
I appreciate drew for your work but the thing that irked me is the music playing in the bg very typical indian classical music but as this video is about Arunachal pradesh you should have chose music related to the tribe something representing the tribe as you are in a big platform, you have viewers worldwide and people barely know about our place, culture and RUclipsrs like you is really a big deal for us so we do expect for better insight, coverage or more efforts from your side, although thank you for your visit hope you will come again soon!!
I want to learn more about their traditional music. Do you have a link for any talented musicians from there?
This is one of the kind story from India.. and these are your 3 emojis🫡🤗🥰 Proud Filipina but leaving in Switzerland🥰
Hi Drew 👋
I’m not from India, but thank you for sharing this story because I found it unbelievably interesting, keep on creating really amazing videos!
Fantastic video! It was so interesting to see a little bit of how these lovely people live. :)
It does make me sad thiugh that the origin of the nose plugs for the women was to make themselves "ugly" to avoid kidnapping... it's very sad that the women were desperate enough to mutilate themselves so they could try to be safe.
At least now it's something the ladies seem to be proud of.
Very educational story! Thanks for sharing! These people were so nice and the place is beautiful.
This is insane, it was fun watching this video and i learned something new. Keep doing this, i love this type of videos!
Thanks!
Thank you Drew for showing the world the other side of India that exists, the northeastern part which is often neglected and many are not aware about. it is very diverse and rich in it's history! love from Nagaland!
My pleasure!

Keep it Drew! ❤
Hey bro thank you so much for being humble. Many people come in the name of exploration, but they end up despising us. Hi Drew, I’ve been following a few of your channels for awhile now and I decided to subscribe. I absolutely loved it all these different places different tribes wherever you go you find something different. I’m a Christian and also a Pastor and always someone will bring a guitar up and praise and worship God and singing. Fantastic songs. Keep up the good work. Can’t wait to the next video Cliff from Australia.

Christianity was introduced in India by St. Thomas during 1st century AD
Yes! I was going to comment this, had to see if someone else already did. But I think when Americans think of Christian, they think of Protestantism and not Catholic or orthodox
thank you for the description. i do actually read these and appreciate when creators put a little summary there
How amazing.

Love your videos but this was so intriguing, breathtaking, fascinating..... I'm so at loss to describe how mesmerizing it was. This deserves an award for the research and time spent interacting with this little known tribe.... they do seem to be indigenous to before India or china were countries. It seems like they are a little of each, not just by looks but their culture and dialects. It would be interesting to see if the closest Chinese region to where they live, shares some of their traditions and culture.
