I think everyone can benefit from having this same perspective (taking an honest look at their own country and decide what can be changed for the better).
Well said.
I love Indian food but hate Sichuan food-I love the food of every other province in China, Mongolia, both Koreas, Russia and HK. Sichuan peppers will numb your mouth-very pasty bad texture, when I found a type I like, I ate a full plate and bled 2 litres of blood out my @ss. I ate like a pig when I left and was fat for a winter.
I love hot and spicy but the way India, Thailand and Mexico do it, not Sichuan, China! I suffered 8 long months of hating the food everyday. When i returned to Canada, I couldn't eat rice for 6 mos. I accept that we eat way too much bread-I get sick of it.
Respect to you!
As a Bulgarian ( if you want to spend a few minutes on Google and find out where we are and what is the situation here ), I must admit - no matter whether we like or hate it, The Real, Honest Opinion is Always preferable, and we must try to achieve some level of development in a good direction and not just put a head in the dirt! My country is the Poorest one in the EU! The Corruption is on the Skies!
Once again, I Respect You, because You know much, much better than Every One of us, Outside India what is the situation in India, and you know - you have HORRIBLE places... like these villages where... how to describe it young girls are forced to prostitute and they put them in some wood coffins for days if they refuse, and their Entire life is in this villages where the ordinary Indians spend few dollars for them, endless amount of people...

Travelling is actually quite tough and challenging, I’ve been Asian countries 30-40 times to many places. I see travelling people all the time, they always look weather beaten, tired and there skin always looks knackered lol! I always travel and stay in decent places, can’t imagine doing it out in 5-10 dollar hostels everywhere I went and on a budget, it ain’t easy, you see great sights and everything else, but they generally are on the go and never stay in places more than 3-4 days. The heat, humidity, traffic, packing, unpacking, walking, trecking all takes it toll on you.

We need more tourists like this to criticize our country so that it prompts our government to rapidly improve the state of the nation.
Prompt government? Needs to prompt citizens!!!!
People are selfish.. they never change unless they are forced to change. India is an extremely competitive place. We were taught to fight for everything ever since we were kids. That's why we are the way we are. It's like if i don't scam that tourist, someone else will. Most people get away with such acts here because of weak law enforcement. And when you see everyone around you doing unethical stuff to climb the ladder of life. And if you try and be a saint and not do what others are doing then you may be left behind in the race of making money.

The grass always looks greener on other side. Even in other country also people has got other problems. Wherever you will go you will always find excuse to avoid the problem instead of solving it. It's not the problem of country you're mistaken. It's how you look at this world...if you look at it with an evil eye everything will appear as evil and if you look at it with good eye everything will appear as good. As you think so you become---------------Lord Buddha. Many Indians who are living in Canada now they want to come back again to India.
Actually, Indian civilization was already great when it was led by an Islamic kingdom, eliminating all caste systems, but why? after the Islamic kingdom was destroyed by Hindu leadership, India's economic harmony could be like that..., it would be better for the Indian government to focus on caste matters, there must really be exceptions so that economic harmony there is not like the earth and the sky. India needs a leader who embraces all groups... from Islam, etc. Don't always make policies that corner certain groups, this will actually make India lose trust in certain groups and could cause a large-scale rebellion there.
Celebrities in Hollywood are miserable. Money doesn't always equate to joy.
I don't care I love India I'm English BTW
as the first reply said, usa has its own problems. india has the problems of poverty, cleanliness but if we work this out by changing ourselves on an individual level, we can slowly change the whole nation. It all begins with you. Start cleaning trash from your locality to inspire people. Make garbage cleaning robots and tag your local ministers on twitter for a change. Unless we open our voice as an individual, nothing will change as every one of us inherently possesses the same attitude, of not caring for the country but our own selves.
I was born in India. Growing up I always felt out of place. Never liked the crowd and lack of personal space. I moved to Germany when I was 21 now at 35 I am still in Germany and whenever I visit my parents in India I face this challenge all over again. It's not for me. Lots of scammers and pollution. Only a few honest people live in extremely difficult circumstances.
Yeah, the scammers is what really pisses me off… I know they see a person with white skin or even online they think oh an English-speaking person they must be rich… And I know that I am very blessed. I’m a very blessed person, but in my country just because I have money doesn’t mean I am rich, I have money, and I give it all away just to have a house and running water. Thankfully, I have a house and running water so I shouldn’t complain. I complain too much I have been given more than I deserve.but I work for money only to give it away and then when scammers try to take it constantly it just puts a really bad taste in your mouth
But everyone is very friendly 😂

Same here man. I've also always felt really uncomfortable going out to places. To give you a background, I live in a tier 1 city in India and only feel comfortable going to certain places in the city. Rest always feels out of place. I don't feel comfortable , many people in the past (such as bus conductors , etc) have tried to leech money from me by overcharging and being a local , I feel like a flipping foreigner in my own country. Don't get this wrong , I really love the culture and the mother land India , but what makes the country a little out of place are the people...
I wouldn’t have handed my backpack to a group of strangers, no matter which country I was in. If they’d run away, there’s nothing you could have done about it.

@@TruthSpitter253 everywhere you go in India, there will be Indians. That’s my problem
As an Indian, the biggest problem is that people here just refuse to acknowledge the truth. Look at the comments section below and see how some people are trembling in anger and having a hard time swallowing the harsh realities of their own country. Mind you these are not ignorant people.
They see everything from their own eyes. Whether it is the extreme poverty, the crumbling infrastructure, the desolate state of our city roads, overpopulation or extreme pollution. They can see everything! Yet they would make excuses and do mental gymnastics to avoid acknowledging these problems. Whenever you point these things out, they go ultra defensive, become insulting and start to go crazy.
The more intellectual ones start a blame game where they blame the British, the Mughals and other empires for the problems that exist in India today. We can never fix this country because people here are so brainwashed that they see everything in front of them and yet possess this capacity to do mental gymnastics in which everyone except themselves are responsible for the state of our country today. The more subtle folks would point out how some bad neighbourhoods exist in major American cities and therefore this point alone nullifies all the extreme problems in India.
I have been to different countries and even there the Indians who live a comfortable life in Western countries would point out how amazing the culture and traditions of India are and yet would never ever come back to their own country. I met people from other developing countries and they freely talk about the problems that exist there, but Indians do nothing but either ignoring them and attacking others who point them out. The only way to fix a country is to acknowledge that problems exist there.
So you are blaming the entirety of Africa, Middle East, and India amongst others on the people themselves??? Right let’s have a political Power come in, strip the people of resources, abandon them, and then watch them flourish??? Same things with parents right? Like people who have shitty parents who are abusive etc are supposed to have no mental health issues because it’s their fault??? Blacks in America? Yup their fault too. You are a Moron!!!! A PSUEDO INTELLECTUAL. No deep knowledge, no research, just sweeping statements.
Read up maslows law of hierarchy. Just take 5 mins out of your bigoted mindset and learn.
And why wait to demean your country to the whole world. why not take care of the problem long ago. Not everyone can run and leave. Again, every country in the world has these issues. The whole world can see India in its developing stage. And which country in the world doesn't need to work on. Talking about your motherland here. Insulting? The man clearly stated he is hating, and India Sucks" And who lives in India. People, right? He may not openly use the word people but the whole India sucks? just by visiting small parts. Hold your head up high. His video should have said these are my least favorite parts of India. Saying to the World "India Sucks "and never to go there and he is hating. I could guarantee you if he did this to other countries people would hold their heads up high and address it in a proper way. The millions of tourists that visits don't even think like this and would not stop them. So much exaggeration.

Thats the problem with life. You cant be who you really are.
he is a man who exploits the people who welcomed him with welcome arms, what is respectful about that pray tell?
He is a man with big balls where his brain ought to be! It is true that India is dirty. I found Agra's backstreets truly repulsive (the dead pig in the garbage-choked stream really did it for me). However, there are wonderful things to see, too. You know of course what else there is to see in Agra (the Taj Mahal, in case I'm wrong and you don't know). Agra also has an old fort dating from 1573 (Mughal times), and I enjoyed looking at these exquisite old building complexes, places that were much worthier of filling one's mind with than a dead pig in a dirty brook. I remember both those aspects of my trip to Agra, but in fact it is the grand old buildings that stand out in my mind. Obsessing over garbage and filth is rather unwholesome and ignorant. Yes, many poorer countries are, by Western standards, dirty - even extremely dirty, and sometimes even _fascinatingly_ dirty (that seems a bit of a crazy thing to say, but if you have travelled, you _may_ understand), but for Pete's sake, surely any traveller who has done his research beforehand _expects_ some uncleanliness, and to focus his attention on that rather than the more rewarding things that the country has to offer is sheer blockheaded ignorance. Why didn't SBA just go to his local dump and obsess over the garbage there? Surely somebody with such a mind as his was wasting his time and money by going to Delhi and Varanasi (which I have visited, too). He surely didn't learn anything important.
Ironically Varanasi is the constituency of the Prime Minister of India.

I had similar problems in China. You really have to ignore them entirely. If you try to just say no, they'll try to convince you to change your mind. But if you give them no acknowledgement whatsoever, they'll look for a new target.
Being an Indian who has lived her whole life in India, i still find it very challenging to survive here. It's so crowded, noisy, and chaotic everywhere and frankly it's quite disheartening to see how people are treated, be it foreigners or locals. Having said that, i have realized I was destined to be here and I have come to respect, love and appreciate my country. I am grateful for everything that my land, people and family have given me. Life is blessing and a gift in every form🙏🏽
Also, change happens incrementally when we all contribute in our own small ways towards a more evolved and conscious society rather than constantly blaming the govt and people for the state of affairs.
There are bad people everywhere in the world. You guys need to get your head out of the sand. Im from the USA and India is absolutely THE BEST AND SAFEST place on the planet. WTF is everyone smoking. You are even catching up economically faster than ever since Modi came to power.

From an outside perspective alot does seem to be the governments fault, they have plenty of money, so I’m not sure what they’re spending it on.
They need to firstly introduce proper road laws and safety that is properly governed and upheld by the police, this will reduce all that noisy honking.
Setup a functional waste disposal system, I.e placing many trash bins and street cleaners & a cycle for emptying these bins.
Uphold hygiene standards in food stalls.
And police need to do something to stop foreigners being harassed and bombarded, whether it be a fine or police moving them along.
These methods work in other countries very well, it just requires funding and training, but I believe India can afford it, they just haven’t bothered trying

Good on you for showing the side of India that’s a reality for Indians that travel shows never show

I would call it "challenging" at times. That said, it is a VERY eye-opening experience, and you will find some of the most amazing people ever there. You will also find a lot of annoying people and scammers.
india is like a world in its own, i mean a country with 20% world population, must be something unique right . that being said , yes i agree india aint for beginners, even i , as an indian from madhya pradesh, would feel insecure and a bit off if i go to live in the "tourist hyped" places like delhi , UP , noida , mumbai, but thats what it is, you want peace, you go to central india , or north east, or uttrakhand , you want only to cover the face of india, you visit these chaotic places, you want to see beauty, you go to kashmir, or south india, india has it all, you just need to see
@@indrastra_jain Very true

It's up to the people to clean up the country and practice better sanitation and hygiene.
It'd be great if Indians can manage their birthrate, a level that makes almost any type of government powerless. And government starts with the governed doing their best to clean up their behaviors, after first learning how to.
There are 10s of thousands of wealthy Indians living in the West, they have places & businesses in India, but they don't assist their country. Why?
@@kenm4882 he he..why do you think they left India in the first place? It's not that things are not improving in India but it's going to take a lot of time in years. It's the mindset that needs a radical change

The truth is there are nice places and poor neighborhoods in all countries of the world. Generally speaking, the areas that are designed for tourists in India are kept pretty neat and clean. This person hosting the video clip, intentionally chose to go into the NON-tourist areas (specifically areas where poor local people live) and show their way of life there. But why would you as an Indian (as you so claim) appreciate a foreigner who is doing this on purpose, to expose areas that are not meant to be seen by tourists, and constantly call it dirty, disgusting, and describe the people there as scammers and crooks?

part of getting better is acknowledging the problem, my grandfather visited india and he had some troubles, got robbed, but for the duration he stayed, there were inconveniences, but nothing dangerous, his wife at the time had it rough, she always needed him by her side for protection, she felt so on edge they abruptly came back home earlier than they should, and from the recent transformation of the country towards anti christian and anti muslim, the attacks on these people, the bad reputation the online scammers brought india, and the high pollution metrics....
it is getting, let's say, slightly out of hand..
and don't beat yourself over tourist scammers, those exist literally everywhere, even in rich countries like Japan, China, USA, UAE, South Korea, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, etc...
also, congrats on reaching the dark side of the moon, and the tech unicorns, and the infrastructure development, those give me some hope for a better india for indians and the rest of the world, stay safe and try your best to be a role model, don't feel small and the mob mentality might overwhelm you or let you down, but people changed the course of history on their own, one man or woman can change the world..

I have a friend who has traveled all over the world and loves every country and is very complimentary of every where… but I remember him saying he would never go back to India if they dragged him over hot coals
To be honest, India is not even as clean as Africa.
Love this guy’s honesty. Too many travelers act like they are having a perfect time in every country and as a fellow traveler, I KNOW that’s never the case. Lol
Cambodia is heaven.

Completely agree. I abandoned India in the middle of my trip and just randomly went to Nepal instead and had a way better time.
It looks like he’s in California 😂
Come to sri lanka you will love it💛no pollution no chaos

@@MrManfly No. Not at all. The only thing comparable to this is in the USA are the backwater shitholes in the rural areas of the South

Had a barefoot Indian man follow me around saying: "U fark ur pucci baby? I will give u happy"
Upon being ignored, he decided to try and sell us scarves and tell us how poor he was married with 4 children...
India is just one of the countries I have no interest in visiting.
Why do you have such a DP on your Google account? 🤔 For 5 seconds, I thought my laptop screen was cracked. 😅
THANK YOU ... VARANASI IS FAR WORSE for women ... !!! 😢 Its spiritual business city
As an Indian and a person who lived in varanasi for 15+ years, this video is absolutely true. There are a lot of things that we need to improve, the most critical being handling scammer, waste management and stopping people from spitting everywhere. At one side we call Atithi Devo Bhava and on the other side we try to rob them by all means. This kind of behaviour brings bad name for the country.
I think if more vlogers were honest like this, the bad press would put pressure on the local governments in India to start making changes. It worked in Moldova when just one man, Bald and Bankrupt made a video of how bad the down town area of the capitol was, the video went viral with millions of views and the local politicians got embarrassed and cleaned up the city. I think it will take a lot more for the same to happen in India but with enough embarrassment it will happen.
Why no sidewalks? Everyone has to walk in the middle of the street with the vehicles?
Thank you for your honest feedback.

My experience and impression of India was identical to this video, but only in the cities. Once I got out of the cities, India was beautiful and the people were so kind and welcoming. I'd recommend to stay away from major cities and go to Meghalaya or rural Assam. If you want to go to Delhi, just stay for two days and only check the historical sites.
But how do you communicate though. I heard most rural areas don't speak English at all, so you can't access any services
@@36G He said he came to Meghalaya and rural Assam, these place are in the North East India which is like a totally different country. In these place almost everyone can speak English. If u come to India and want the authentic Indian experience, I wouldn't recommend these places as they are very different but if u want to have a good time, North East India is absolutely beautiful. Although be careful because u a special permit to enter some cities.
With the exception of some architecture cities are ugly everywhere.
No wonder India people will do anything to run out of India to the west and African countries for better standard of living. I thought it has improved. 😢 your political elites are doing your country a disservice 😢
@@frankenz66 cities are ugly everywhere outside of western europe and maybe west coast of latin america, everything everywhere is ugly
For someone who travels so much its weird you haven't learned to just look straight forward and completely ignore these people. Don't be friendly, don't communicate. Just leave them.
Exactly. You’re going to get harassed if you go out and just mill about with no direction!
I think he does it for content. I think it's ok
It's illustrative of how shit India is. I don't know about you, but I don't really want to live in a society where the modus operandi is to walk around with a stern poker face and ignore everyone.
Indians are especially persistent though. I have been hounded by one pretending to be an Uber driver in New York City while waiting for my ride. And I’m from New York and epitomize “minding your business” too and still had this effer keep coming up right to me harassing me with his fake Uber ride
Agreed!!!! Baffling really. Comon sense tells you IGNORE THEM.
Bro you'd have to torture me to the brink of death before I try anything from literally any street food vendor in any part of India.
