Honestly, where all did you go in India for you to feel so strongly against it? Varanasi is very nasty and its kinda wack that you draw your hate from our worst city ; its like me walking into the nasty underbelly of your broke cities and towns like Buffalo or Detroit for that matter. Did you see Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Bangalore and still hate it? Did you venture into Himachal or Utarakhand to experience the Himalayas? Did you go to Rajasthan to see our palaces in the desert? Super confused here honestly. No hatred but the name fits you well with that type of commentary. By the way I am of Indian Origin raised in Canada so I do know what our world feels like as well

I don't think he over charged you. He took such pride in his work and treated you like a prince. He didn't have much as far as equipment but he had enormous skills. You don't know how many people he feeds with his $1.25/ per shave income. You should have given him at least another 25 rupees. Americans are so used to getting the princely treatment. Gratitude man! You have a good life and you can if you want to change a life in your wanderings. Look at these people as humans just like you, flawed as we all are but with a heart.. A foreign person comes around they feel honored to interact with you and to be your friend for a brief moment. They will go home and talk about you and how much fun it was to meet you.

My man, you didn't have the "drug" version of the Paan, it was without tobacco. Betel leaves (Paan) and a bit of betel seeds are not supposed to get you high, it's the tobacco in the Paan that does the job and has people hooked to it. The version you had was a meetha paan (sweet paan) which is but a dessert and an after-meal digestif, it actually is healthy, and you're supposed to chew and swallow this version, not spit it. The red spit is the tobacco paan. Not gonna lie I chuckled at you spitting it everywhere and thinking you're getting stimulated. Hope this will help you get the real thing on your next trip.

that crystal thing which that barber used is Alum. Alum is used in cooking as well as for medicinal purposes. In Ayurveda, Alum (Phitkari) is used in the form of Bhasma (Pure Ash) called as Sphatika Bhasma.
Alum can help to tighten the skin, minimize the appearance of pores, and reduce excess oil. It also has antibacterial properties that can aid in preventing acne and blemishes.
Alum can also be used as a water purifier. When clean, drinkable water did not reach through pipelines, people used to drop a few small pieces of alum in a bottle of water and wait for the dust and particles to settle down before straining the rest of the clean water.

I really appreciated your honesty and frankness in your travel vlog! I went to Ahmedabad in India about a year ago, by myself, for a friend's wedding and had similar experiences. While there were many times I was super confused and overwhelmed, I really grew to love the culture and spontaneity of being there. I also got swindled for $20 at the Mumbai airport, which wasn't cool, but would do the trip all over again. Watching your videos made me remember the trip all over again. . .and crave some authentic Indian food.

I always feel Indian people are very gentle and friendly. I'm new to your vids. They seem really fresh and interesting. I love seeing other cultures and India is one of my favourites. 🙂

Goes to a roadside barber, got all the extra services in the name of hospitality and then paid the poor guy by showing his utensils dirty with the shaving foam which he used on this guy's face, showing everyone else that it is not sanitary. You seem to be a kind human 🥰 expecting world calss service from a roadside barber, promising to give a tio and then eventually paying him but destroying his shop's reputation. Nice work🤡

When did he expect world class service from the road side barber you genius? He said that the barber is doing amazing work. Extreme attention to detail, a perfectionist. Thanked him and tipped him. Also, how did he destroy the shop's reputation? Struggling to understand English are we? Any Indian visiting a road side barber in India knows what kind of hygiene levels to expect. They do not need a video on RUclips by a foreigner to tell them of potential risks. Learn to watch and enjoy - or else chill.

Two types of Paan 1. Sweet paan key ingredient Gulkand(rose petals and sugar) and paan leaf is Desi leaf. You can chew and swallow this paan. 2. Tobacco paan key ingredient Tobacco of your choice and leaf is Banarsi. You don’t chew or swallow this one. Just keep it in mouth and spit out the saliva. Don’t even swallow the spit. Tobacco paan is that infamous red color you were looking for. Betel nut is in both paans either dry or soaked. Betel nut and Catachu (kathaa in hindi) are the main ingredients that give color red to paan spit.
