KAMBÔ: THE FROG POISON RITUAL | TRADITIONAL AMAZON MEDICINE

  • This experience is one of my favourites since I started travelling 8 years ago.
A Kambo Cleanse is putting the poison off the back of a bright green frog into small points burned into your skin. Warriors of Amazonian tribes would use Kambo for its many benefits. After applying the poison, you get extremely sick for a short period after. Extreme fever, swelling of the face, terrible headache, vomiting, dizziness, convulsions, these are all the symptoms of Kambo.
After the short allergic reaction your body has to the poison, everything changes. All your senses are heightened. You see more clearly, your hearing improves, you can smell more of your surroundings. Also, your immune system becomes supercharged, making you able to resist infections and disease. Warriors would use Kambo for these purposes, and often apply the poison before war or a hunt.
    Psychedelic
Coming soon is the middle part of the story. The night we had before kambo. What unfolded that night was completely unexpected. I long session with the shaman and his friend, inhaling rapé (a powder from leaves of the forest), and drinking ayahuasca. It was a warm up before the kambo the next morning, and was equally as intense.

My friend died from this 2 days ago. She was 35 years old , she did it many times before and was an administrator too. She studied at the Amazon too, was there several times. She went into a coma at one of these Kambo sessions, stopped breathing and never recovered! I would like to bring awareness to the dangers of these practices! Please do more study before you do this!

My felt sense of well-being just kept increasing for several day after that. I literally couldn't get myself to eat any kind of junk food for days. I'm really glad I did this and will do it again. Always good to stand or keep your head up as much as you can to prevent swelling and pressure in the face. Sometime it’s nice to just keep drinking water if you have already purged the water that you had in your stomach before purging too. Might be good to have an extra burn point incase you need more too. Love Kambo. A beautiful medicine.

Hope we get to see the benefits of all the frog poison and more explanation about the rituals involved because that part is really interesting.

I go to Taos NM, done kambo three times six months apart, higher doses each time, 1st x 4 burns, 2nd x 6 burns, 3rd x 7 burns first day, 5 burns second day, you fast the day before, drink three glasses of water right before, your stomach turns, I was sick for 5 minutes, that's it. Next six months I feel great, no more back pain, joints don't pop, liver and kidneys have healed themselves from all the drinking and drugs I did in my twenties. No psychedelic trip, still feel twenty years younger, 5 months since last treatment, one month to go, and my practitioners don't charge, kambo is amazing! I can't say more good things about it!

Nothing like in the middle of Amazon jungle, but I know the experience, coz at the first time I had 5 dots and few months later at the second session (3 days), 7 dots on Friday, 9 dots on Saturday and 11 on Sunday, definitely the hardest experience that I had in my life.... And Caspar became a frog. I suggest you to have another session with more dots, for sure is gonna be deepest.... Welcome to the power of jungle.
